In our 10 minute guided meditation made for any LGBTQIA people, we focus our concentration on how our tense muscles might be representative of us seeing ourselves (and our communities) through a conditional lens. It's certainly understandable; the society we live in is quick to reward competition and the pull to belong, so anybody feeling like an outsider due to their sexual identity or gender identity can end up internalizing harmful messages about their worth and others like them.
There's nothing wrong with being gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, nonbinary, genderqueer or any of the beautiful expressions our communities recognize; sometimes we have to release the tension in our bodies in order to really believe that and to help others know we believe in them too. Let's open up physically in order to renounce a culture or upbringing that promotes conditional love. Let's believe we can become people that love unconditionally starting with ourselves.
