This is a Part 2 video, we wanted to see how the Swisstrax would hold up long term. We put the tile through some tests that may happen in day to day use in a shop.
We're quite surprised how well it holds up as well as it's ease to clean.
We'll give you updates on the tile in the future and let you know how it's doing.
Watch us install the Swisstrax

also there are water channels built into them so really as long as your garage is sloped outward (like any normal garage that was build correctly) you can just spray them while still on the ground and the gunk and water will just drain out, you dont have to lift them

@@LHTPerformance you should travel do a video if you can in the dead of winter. A lot of people are wondering how these perform. The ice and snow that melt and fall off vehicles and get in the cracks and then possibly freeze on top of blocks? Would be interested to see. Also sounds like a constant clean up job in Winter. I might just go with an epoxy paint job.
@alreadytakenband
@alreadytakenband 5 жыл бұрын
@@billbrooks6756 FWIW, I installed these same tiles in my home garage a few years ago (oddly enough, the same blue and grey colors as in the video). Been through a couple of NY winters. These tiles work very well with ice/snow fall off from our cars. On a flat/solid floor everything sits there either in a puddle of water (when it melts) or ice (when it freezes up again.). With the tiles, all of it falls through. The "surface" stays dry and the water/ice is all underneath. Much better IMO than a solid floor surface. We have never had an issue with water or ice rising higher than the surface of the tile. Any liquid on the tiles will fall through to the floor and spread out. To rise above the surface of the tile, you would need a flood. After a rough winter the tiles can get a little dirty, but clean up very easily.

Pressure washer. There are channels underneath the tiles to allow flow. Assuming you're on a slight grade, it is extremely easy to wash out. Someone commented below that they're actually very good in winter, since all the wet stuff stays below the tile surface (as opposed to a finished / epoxy floor where you just have buildup), so you never have to walk or drive on a wet surface. They also commented that they are very easy to clean out from their experience in northern US.

@@847MicRoss At that price they're minting money. A racer we used to compete against RJ Smith made plastic injection molded containers for baby wipes. I would not consider these tiles. The damage from jacking and jack stands would accumulate every time you use the floor jack and jack stands. Eventually, the tiles would become quite damaged. Also, the build-up of debris would be a problem for anyone who lives in area where there is rain or snow. The dirty water and dirty melted snow would accumulate under the tiles and would cause the garage to be continuously dirty and wet under the tiles.
