I really appreciate this post as I'm going to be changing most of my fluids tomorrow in preparation for a track day, and I haven't done my brakes before. FYI, I switched to SynchroMax based on your advice from an earlier video and found that it performs much better than alternatives in general (and particularly in the cold) but I have noticed that it seems to start to feel thicker (like my synchros have to work harder sooner) when I've been running on track for a long session.

I did the same when I got my 00 s2k w/32k miles 4 months ago. Used Redline 75 90 fluid. Thinking of switching to mobil 1 75 140 when it comes out of storage in Spring. It seems a little on the noisy side. Compared to what was in it from prev owners. The old fluid was dark gold coloured and a little residue on drain plug. Also Adj valves and flushed coolant just in case. Dont cheap out on your maintenance!

That’s interesting John I’ve always done the passenger rear wheel first and work my way around to the passenger front wheel. Also I learned the same brake/clutch bleeding method you describe and honestly I don’t like it. I prefer the one-man method keeping a tube submerged in fluid; rock hard pedal every time.
@stevejamik22954 жыл бұрын
If there is no air in the system, the technically you are doing a flush. If doing a flush, it doesn’t matter where you start. The front brakes will allow a larger amount of fluid to flow through.
@ronaldsanpedro19764 жыл бұрын
I've found a mess free way to bleed my brakes and clutch. Instead of using a bottle and hose, I just bought a 2 liter urine bag from the drug store. Cut the tip of the hose so it will fit the bleeder valve nipple. It's about a dollar for a urine bag. Since the bag is sealed, it's spill proof. Plus you can use the old fluid to degrease some of your tools.
