It would be cool to collab with Jason from Engineering Explained to get all scientific with the new air scoop
@identiticrisis10 ай бұрын
Erm, no need. His explanations are kinda half baked and sometimes actually wrong, speaking as a fellow engineer. The results speak for themselves, no need to get bogged down in pseudoscience, just follow the method. From what we've seen of John's process, it should yield a good outcome. I personally think that a scoop that funnels air from the very top of the bumper opening over the top of the radiator would do more. Like a full width version of the Spoon style duct, or touring car style. Obviously avoiding the bonnet catch area, so it would be in two halves. One for the stock airbox opening, and one on the other side for an additional duct into the box, as in this video. The radiator air path would still be kept separate.

Somebody has to be the first. I like the experimental trial and error process of figuring out the details. I am in the process of looking for comfortable seats with manual sliding seat brackets for my truck. Unfortunately, most seats are powered, and I can't find seats and brackets for my vehicle because I am the only one who wants comfortable seats with manual controls. But I'm looking forward to the challenge of figuring out how to connect parts that were never designed to fit together. To me, the seats are too important to compromise on. When I get exactly the seats & brackets that I want with zero compromise all the effort and frustration will be worth it.

In my world, nothing beats the sound of a built N/A Honda motor. It's just perfection. My '98 Prelude has the H22A with AEM air intake, DC sports header, Mugen Cat-back, Skunk2 intake manifold, cheap ebay throttle body, underdrive pulleys and tuned with Hondata. The sound is addicting above 4500 rpm. I want to throw independent throttle bodies on it, but I can't push myself to spend that kind of money or cut a hole in my fiberglass hood.🫤

Curious to see the header design you have - looking over more recent test data it 'seems' like changing the cylinder pairing has been beneficial but you often get internet people arguing that what Honda designed 25 years ago is perfect and unbeatable. have to keep in mind that something in a car (especially the main gauge cluster) needs to be able to tolerate very cold and very hot temps without any issues - I'm not sure an OLED would be a good option. For something that complex and low-production numbers we kind of have to just accept niche pricing.
