Love the air circulator. We had one when I was a kid back in the 60’s/70’s. The great thing about them was, there was no fighting about who was going to sit in front of the fan. I love all the memories you bring back to me with different things you share with us each week. Thank you.

I absolutely love the "air circulator" My grandparents had one when I was growing up. It was dark brown and tan Bakelite . They didn't get a/c until the late 80's and this allowed everyone to get some breeze. As for the give-aways, I often get things from companies, but the quality is just not there. However, I am a plumber for a state university here in Texas, Milwaukee Tool came to give us a new tool demonstration and gave us long sleeve t-shirts, nicely made and well bound blank books, safety glasses and of course stickers and pens

A very nice haul from the LI Tool Meet. I think my favourite is the hand cranked snake. I have not seen one of these before. Oldie but goodie. I know what you mean about paper quality. Inexpensive paper does go brown and deteriorate. Many of the books were not intended to last for decades. Dave.

16:30 You should put a mirror behind it so if anyone opens the door or operates the shutters they will be surprised to see themselves. I fixed ours, the water parts were filled with sunflower seed shells! LOL! I bolted a fan to the door and pointed it down over the woodstove. This bought the floor temp up like 50 degrees. I spent one year near Canada and burned wood during it, it was my only option for the mostly summer cabin. I saw a beautiful momma molting moose chewing her cud with her baby right behind her. No signs of aggression towards me. I followed a bobcat to get in there in the first place. Oh to be young again. But lately I have been going to the lakes at sundown to watch about 75 geese of which there must be 50 fuzzy babies and they draw their own crowds! I found out the sk8ters have their own park now, I hope they all use it because one clueless kid scared all the birds away all to impress nobody who would be impressed.

My favorite item has to be the boiler door only because I was involved in the repair of one, not the door itself, but the broken hinge lugs on the boiler. If it had been only the door, we would have just scronged up another door, but it was the lugs on the boiler which were broken. The young welder I was helping showed up with some magic stick rods that the local welding supply house told him were what he needed for cast iron . . . they weren't. I ended up going Old Skool on him and BRAZED it back into usability with a gas torch. It might not have been my prettiest work, but 40 years later, that coal boiler is still being used,

Great memory jogger! We used to get little booklets from my Dad's Aunt every year at Christmas. She lived in a little town of less than 1500, and her bank gave out NFC/AFC BOOKLETS. Great video 👍 LI tool meet look like a great show. Fantastic video of the event 👍. I like the one table you went to and showed us that fantastic Craftsman red vise and that Ruger 🔫hand drill. I also like that vintage plumber hand snake you acquired, that is awesome. It does remind me of a gun 🔫. That Wilton N.O.S. Clamp 🗜you acquired with the box 📦 is a fantastic find. It looks great 👍. I seen those clamps also in a flat black on the threads and handle with the grey paint for the body of the clamp 🗜, but again fantastic find. That Rex Cole air circulator fan looks awesome, fantastic find!👍But I didn’t see nothing wrong with the plug 🔌 🤔... 😂😂👍That would be a great project to restore on the channel. I don't know where to start, so this is free association time! My Uncle Henry worked at Leviton on Long Island for most of his life! I still have a bunch of switches that he put together! The house I had in Richland PA, had a perfect knob and tube wiring system. It was like brand new! In Brooklyn, my Polish Granpa taught me about burners! Coal! I remember the water glass that had to be watched and the coal ash that had to be taken out in a bucket! I didn't learn Oil burners until later! Oil was on Long Island! There's probably noone under 40 that has a clue how to mainta8n burners! Anyway, Great video!

I am shocked that you didn't grab that surface grinder. That is a sweet piece. Never saw a bench model. That circular fan would have been the spot every teenage boy set a girl in a Marlyn Monroe skirt. As to the boiler, I knew the big ones from Kewanee Boiler. I know the radiators took up space but where it's cold, the only thing that is close to the warmth is a wood burning stove. You never suffered chills in a room with a radiator, bluss you could dry clothing, hats, mittens, socks, towels. Radiant floor heat just can't accomplish that. About 10 years ago people with outdoor wood boilers were buying the old radiators for scrap prices, taking them to a professional powder coater. Of course they sand blast before coating and then powder coated. A lot of colors available and durable without that old paint buildup.

I really liked that jewelers die, surface grinder, and ruger drill but my favorite was that drain snake. Yeah none of the corporations give away anything, they all prefer to spend their ad money on digital. For people with an attention span of ten seconds. I think they are really missing the mark. I was in a house last week that had knob and tube still in use. If I have to use a slotted screw I run a phillips in first and the swap in a slotted. Those books were great, meant to share knowledge for generations. Great score on that fan.

I have never seen a floor air circulator, or if I have seen one, I had no idea what it was! The air circulator may need lubricated, but as for the run down, it has blades biting the air to slowing it down. A motor with nothing on the shaft will have a much longer run down since there is no work being done.

Sometimes the weight of the blades will aide in extending run down, you can almost tell when a motor is dry just from the sound, the start up and run down. This one really seems to be crying for service. 😂👍

$800- They are desirable because of their small size. 😃👍

Scout, Philips fasteners are the fasteners which are harder to use. The only reason for the current popularity is faster mass production . . . on assembly. Disassembly, fuggetaboutit.

We're in disagreement on the aesthetics of slotted screws, I've always thought they looked unbalanced and unattractive..........Never had one of those tool caddies but Dad has had one for about as long as I can remember........I'd love to make a Wall Safe out of that Boiler Door.

Have you ever had to replace the gasket on that Goldenrod oiler? I have two similar oil cans where the gasket crumbled and havent been able to find replacements. Would thick gasket paper be good enough?

I used to hate slotted screws and loved Phillips and now I'm the opposite. In fact, I don't think Phillips are as functional as people say. They cam out all the time. For a tight fit I prefer Robertson or Torx. Those never cam out.
