You should be aware that the resin is going to very quickly Amber and your photo will fade out in the sunlight.

Thanks Judy - yes, I had advised my brother about that - he insisted that he wanted me to make them and said he will be trying an automotive UV protectant on these pieces to see if it helps lengthen their lifespan... if not , we will try something else for the photo.

You can laminate photos, seal it with modge podge, any spray sealant will work, or u can use clear nail polish (I prefer fast dry top coat). It truly is best to seal photos used in resin as over time resin can dull out photos. It does not matter what paper they are printed on as long as they are properly sealed. I would never not seal a photo that's just asking for future fading. Anyway just trying to be helpful. Loved the vid!

Tanja sounds like she was so loved and such a delight - I know she'll be missed - my condolences Nadia. 🙏💞 This was a very helpful video - I recently did a photo as a requested memorial keepsake (I asked them to have the photo laminated - since they had one, prior to my placing it in resin - for fear of ruining the photo). Although it turned out well, your process is such a better option with the gloss varnish! I let the photo cure in clear resin, then did the remainder backing resin (such as how you did with glitter resin).

If you let the first pour of resin harden then put resin on the photo and put it face down on the hardened layer would that guard against bubbles? Also let the layer that goes on top of the pic harden then top coat that with glitter coat would stop the glitter from running to the front.

The bubble kinda makes it look like a snow globe type thing. I luv the glitter sneaking around. I have a question about the glass paint... does the brush matter? Yes! I actually didn't mind the location of the bubble on the one😊 What type of glass paint are you using? Any of the ones I've tried tend to smooth themselves out while drying...unless it's been painted on very thin. The brush shouldn't make a difference

@LiaDiaDesigns
@LiaDiaDesigns 6 ай бұрын
It can take a little practice to not get bubbles under the pic, but if you want a guaranteed way to get them perfect every time, you can fill the heart almost 3/4 of the way, let that cure, then later coat the picture with a bit of resin and place on the cured heart in the mold. You may also then add a bit more resin to the mold to finish filling the heart. Hope this helps!

These were sooo cute... 1st off I thought the little bubble was cute, my dumb self would have made a thought bubble with her saying something out of it...lol. Next do u think the varnish could have stopped the glitter from seeping under like it did with the others???

💖thank you! I actually like the bubble as well! 🥰 I don't think the varnish stopped the glitter, but I believe I did put somewhat less glitter on that piece, so that could be why it didn't seep through as much.

The cheapest way I laminate photos is with shipping tape on both sides of the photo. I have to trim the border to the right size.

before you put the picture in should pour resin let it get a little hard then add your picture and cover the picture with remaining resin??? Everybody says something different. Help

Everyone does it a bit different, depending on how many they are making. For me, I don't usually want to spend more than a couple minutes making these, as i don't sell them, so I do it all at in one go. But, those who make these to sell usually do 2 stages, first is to fill the hearts halfway with clear resin, then let cure fully or almost fully. Then the second step is placing the photo (with a little resin) and then filling the rest of the heart. This is the most fool-proof way to avoid issues with bubbles etc. Hope this helps!

Why don't you put the image the right side up inside the mould?

they came out awesome but maybe next time laminate the photo before you put it in and you don't have to go through all that you know painting the sealer on or anything
