That was a quick 22-minute way to help me clarify the different between liberal feminism (which seems to have found a home within what was once conservative secular politics) and radical feminism (which continues to seek progress through left-wing socialist politics).

Yes exactly. Liberal feminism is a symptom of the society we live in in the West. It is great that they want to help but by not focusing on the root of the problems, the problems never truly go away.

Thank you for this lecture! I have always heard that radical feminism is good and liberal feminism is bad, but I knew it was more than that. I couldn’t find a single explanation on liberal feminism that wasn’t just, “It’s bad.” This video further demonstrates, to me, that it isn’t that simple. I would say I identify more as a liberal feminist than a radical one, but that doesn’t mean I fit neatly in there. For example, I think the issues of WOC, LGBTQ+ women, and poor women should absolutely be addressed and I absolutely despise the girl-boss movement (which, to my understanding, originated from mainstream, easily profitable feminism).

What I don't get is why these feminist and some men.. are so offended by the word 'man or men' ..like for example.. when people use the word or phrases like man-made man hole or mailman ect. !? Don't they get it!? the word man or men come from woman/women.. get it!? Got it!? Good!!

isn't 2nd wave radical feminism (based on marxist theory) and 3rd wave liberal feminism which is just the continuation of radical feminism with some caveats? The suffragette movement wasn't called liberal feminism as far as I know. can you explain, please?
@beatrizcovelomachado9732
@beatrizcovelomachado9732 5 жыл бұрын
the first wave was based on liberal, they had the ideia of equality between the sexes, and Marxist feminism of the working classes began to emerge. the second wave was about radical feminism, they had in mind question the differences between the sexes, and don't accept men. at the same time the questioning about black feminism began to emerge. the third wave was about the black feminism and all the others strands. remember that this is in a general context, the waves were different in Europe and the US.
@moneyfactor8482
@moneyfactor8482 5 жыл бұрын
@@beatrizcovelomachado9732 "the waves were different in Europe and the US." Naturally. The concept of waves is very American-centric even if it started there. yeah, Intersectionality and queer theory are very prominent in 3rd wave as well as marxist class theory or conflict theory. I get confused with those two. Thank you for answering!

In my opinion, The biggest DISSERVICE that WE (American Men) have done to women is give the Right of the Vote without the RESPONSIBLY of the DRAFT. While this can be remedied, I don't expect that Women would WANT it. My opinion, Women and Men are not the SAME, but should be treated equal. If you need examples, then I will give them!

@@lakshyarana7054 Okay, Once I babysat a few dozen children. After not being able to agree on a game to play (About an Hour time), I granted that they separate and select their game. Girls chose to have a Fashion Parade, complete with Make-up (Donated by their Mothers, Who were across the Hallway), while the boy chose to wrestle. If Boys and Girls are the same, then Why didn't they make the same choice? I treated both equally by allowing the girls to have their CHOSEN ACTIVITY. Another time, A girl came to the Cub Scout Activity that I was referee for and asked 'How can this be fun?' I said, 'Why don't you come and find out?' She refused. If girls and boys are the same, then Why Do Girls hate the Strength competitions that Boys love. I never told a girl that she couldn't play, but a Mother did. In fact, One mother was so BIASE that she wasn't going to EVER let her SON play again. If Girls are the more UNDERSTANDING gender, then why can't they Tolerate the games BOYS love? NEED MORE?

@@lakshyarana7054 How about a Man in a court was yelled at by his wife, because he signed away their right to a Foal. He asked her what about the 6 weeks of nagging about had he written the letter yet. How about the women near my house in Texas concerned about wasting water, when a fire was burning a wooden fence towards their houses. The wife of one man complaining about him not purchasing a garden hose, and so he is wasting his neighbor's (My family, in fact) water, when he is always saying one must be prepared. He replied, "What ever happened to we don't need a garden hose, we have a Fire Department." These Men and Women had very different reactions to the same circumstance. And why does it seem that women can't remember agreements?

@@BK-oe7cf About your critique, I have 4 comments. 1.) Strange that you would say that Women are better at Diplomacy, when I have witnessed MANY times: Women trying to out scream another one to get their way. Example: Two Teenage Girls were yelling. One wanted Fried Seasoned Potato Wedges (My Family call them Jo-Jo's.). The Other didn't like Jo-Jo's, she wanted Chicken Tenders, but the first one didn't like Chicken Tenders. After about 15 minutes of yelling and a Embarrassing comment from me, They agreed to half a pound of each. Which is what the Teenage boy recommended at the beginning! So who is better at Negotiating? 2.) Wrestling is actually a great way to learn SELF-CONTROL. The referee ends the match often before any injures happen. Besides not seeing how the match would have turned out, If the referee stopping the match is a sign to the boy that they failed at maintaining control. The Instant starting and stopping of the Matches requires Discipline to obey as well. In addition, Boys need to use up their energy before they can detox from stress. This heralds back to when the greatest threat to our (Hunter-Gatherer) Society was attacking animals. This stress was handled act first, calm down later. Evolution has never removed this Gender-Dependent reaction to stress. 3.) How is a fashion show acceptable? The self-training of girls to be objects for a Man's amusement? Or am I missing as much about a Fashion Show as you are about Wrestling? 4.) Initially Most Women didn't WANT TO VOTE, because they were afraid that they would be subject to the DRAFT.
