I am sad this man passed away. This is the first time I have heard his voice. It is my belief a few of his ideas and indeed shadows of his soul will far outlast his body

I heard Walter Williams state his entire belief on social and economical issues in just one phrase very succinctly "Everything boils down to two types of people: those that want to be left alone and those that want to control you". It's simple, but it conveys what every law and economic policy does to us all. It either puts more control on us or liberates the masses. Personally, I want to be left alone. Let me live MY life and take care of my family.

Trust me if I could exist on a planet without people who believe in finders keepers, I would do so. The conflict was not created by either of us. The desire to be left alone is mutual, but reality dictates we have no choice for the time being.

No I don't believe in self ownership, because I don't believe that anybody can or should be owned. People are not commodities. People are living walking thinking beings. What I believe in is the right of self-determination and free will. I believe we have a right to determine our own lives and no one has the right to impose their will on us as long as we respect that for others.

Think you are playing with semantics a little. Self ownership means the right to self determination. If you have self determination you have self ownership. Don't see how the two could not be the same concept

Sorry to report, but it is likely higher, much higher: 1. Fed tax, 2. State tax, 3. Sales tax, 4. Property tax (paid by renters too), 5. Gasoline tax, 6. Vehicle tax, 7. Licensing fees, 8. Road fees, 9. Registration fees, 10. National park fees, 11. Parking fees (yes, taxes drive up the cost of even that service) In short, it is more likely than not that you are paying +60% in Taxes. ~ and that is BEFORE obamacare & subsequent taxation... the truth hurts. /watch?v=K0zacaIard0
