This is life changing. My atlas slips to the right severely, I've gone to NUCCA specialists for years and it always happens again. My atlas and axis were like a snake before doing the exercises in this video, they are nearly in alignment afterward. My fatigue, headache and shoulder muscle pain are gone. Thank you for sharing these techniques aimed to align the atlas. I suffered for the longest time with numbness between my eyebrows and episodes of lack of breath for months. The neurologist related those to my posture, but physiotherapy targeting only that issue, did not relieve the symptoms. Finally, I chiropractor determined that my atlas was misaligned 5 degrees. With a specific diagnosis I search for videos and I have been practicing the exercises on your videos. These have been extremely helpful and the episodes of lack of breath etc. and numbness have diminished significantly. I still have a way to go but I wanted to thank you, because this has brought back a peace of mind back!!

This is great! Step by step and simply explained. My Atlas was severely out of place, and using a pretty aggressive massager to loosen the muscles and tendons followed by this technique put it back in place. My neck muscles ache from the stretching for some time afterward but I am so glad to find this because my formerly well controlled blood pressure had risen sharply to as high as 182/91 when the Atlas was dislocated. Something had to be done! My systolic BP fell by 35 points almost immediately after I did these exercises and it continues to fall gradually, back into a range where I can now manage it with the help of drugs and also seek further improvement by doing these exercises. I also suffered from my arms going to sleep overnight, but that is also much improved. Thanks!

Sometimes In-between visits, though, my atlas goes out of place. So I searched on KZbin and found this video. Is this something I could do everyday? Or only if I know my Atlas is out (which I can tell now, when it is, because of the type of headache I experience). Also, I can't exactly see how the ball massage works... I cannot do these entirely correctly while in the library but looking forward to it later. I"ve had an unstable atlas for 17 yrs since one very forceful, painful, bad chiropractic adjustment and I've had vertigo so often since...to almost life- threatening levels (blacking out almost) and often it brings my life to a standstill. Sleeping in a car (van) in parking lots is not helping at all and in fact is the current cause, but there's nothing I can do about that right now. The pain always seem worst in the left top shoulder about half way to head and then leads to the insertion of that nerve in the neck at head. Had bad shoulder injury in a 12 ft fall from a swinging rope swing onto hard dirt at age 15 and wonder often if that started it.

Hi. I have a neck pain at the end of the skull for 2 years now and I suspect that I don't have my atlas bone in the normal position. I was at chiropractic but the therapy helped just for some time. I tried your exercises and it hurt quite a lot but I had a relief at the end. I don't have a problem with nerve I am sure it got to do with bones. I also hear my bones crackling when I exercise my neck cus of discomfort. Do you think I have an atlas position issue?

Disagree with the entire premise of this video. First of all, If your ligaments are already lax, torn or weak, stretching to this degree will only make things worse. Ligaments like motion when healing, but to a smaller degree than they were used to pre injury. And again if already injured, Stretching will also illicit a muscular contractive response, to protect the area, putting further stress on structures like arteries and nerves which are already irritated. The second reason your atlas would be out of place is from a muscle imbalance/dysfunction. If this is the case, the obvious solution would be to strengthen the opposing muscle(s). The reason is, tight or loose muscles are never a compromise for strength. Despite what most PTs will advise, A strong muscle can also be relaxed. MSK neurologies page has a bunch of videos on this which I’ve deemed to be the correct way to go about strengthening, instead of stretching these vital upper cervical supporters. Coming from someone who’s had this issue, to the degree of fainting from lack of blood, and almost all the other issues that come with C1/2 imbalance, I’ve found thru countless studies and personal experience, stretching is not the way to go, rather strengthening.

Totally agree. If you have cervical instability you can bet these stretches are not a good idea. The upper neck is too important to screw around with. It’s usually always due to weakness. It’s just finding the correct muscles from side to side to strengthen.

@@lw7654 right, it doesn’t make sense to stretch a structure that is injured by a stretch injury 😂😂😂. Football players are the best example of how to deal with neck injuries, or even prevent them. They constantly are doing neck resistance training.

Going to try this for essential tremor/decrease fluid pressure in the brain. Will it work? The meds I've tried are useless. Propranalol and primidone. My grandfather and father had tremors and now I have them. Very annoying. My brother was a Chiropractor and said I had a larger than normal atlas bone. Part of the problem?
