Morality rather than the light which transforms. No wonder Christianity is still a religion rather than a Christ centred WAY of living for self and to one's neighbour.❤️ Thank God for men such as these who are bringing in no new age heresy but Orthodoxy e.g Apokatastasis and Theosis largely lost by western Christianity after the first mellinium.

The Holy Spirit shows us how great we are? Now where in the Bible do we find that? Did Paul talk this way about himself? Does John 16:8-11 teach this about the work of the Holy Spirit? Does Paul pray that our eyes may be opened to see the greatness of us? Eph.1:17-18: I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Hell? What about the lake of fire in Revelation? I still don’t have an answer from those that deny it. If Hell is a solution for our sin, there is no need for the sacrifice of the precious Lamb of God
@Amosathar6 жыл бұрын
I've heard a few reviews about this book/movie and start with the fact that this is fiction, not fact. It wasn't written for everyone but the purpose was originally for his family. Is it flawed? sure because it was written by a man not God. Look at any Christian novel or movie and tell me there isn't a flaw or something wrong with it. No commentary on the Bible is without fault because in the end they are interpretations of God's word by man. The Bible is always the standard and no matter who is talking about their theology, if it doesn't match up with the Bible, then discard it as false. Can God use this book/movie, I'm sure he can to start a conversation, to get people's attention. But just because it has wrong information in it, is God not big enough to correct anything false in people's belief's as they come into relationship with Him? Is God so powerless that He needs us to defend him? Speak Life, Speak Truth, the Gospel is simple, but we make it complicated. On the point of Hell and whether it's a real place, I believe it is, but everyone's version of hell is different. There is a verse in Hebrews 9;27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. While we are still sinners we will face the judgement of God because of our sins we are still enemies of God, Yes He loves us, but our sin still separates us from God it is that sin that we hold that is being judged because God offered a way out but the person did not take that option and instead of choosing God's path ahead and allowing Jesus to be the bearer of their sin, they retain the ownership. However for believers who have accepted Jesus as Saviour they are now blameless in God's sight and made righteous through the Jesus death on the cross. Now because they have been born again/adopted into the family of God 1 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. The word for creation in that verse means a whole new species, the person is a new creation/being more than just human. So therefore the Hebrews 9:27 no longer applies to them . Why you ask because the word for death/die in Hebrews 9:27 is not necros which means physical death, it is thanatos which means spiritual death or the complete and utter separation from God. We see the importance of this word in 1 Corinthians 11:26 that verse used during communion so much "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes." The word used in this verse is also thanatos, quite simply the act of taking communion is remembering Jesus's separation from God that occurred when the sin of world was placed on him Matthew 27:46 " About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). Now some will get caught up on whether or not God turned his face away or whether or not he was really separated from God the Father, but we can never know that so it is a trivial matter. But at least consider this point, that Christ took our place, sin had impact upon him, someone who was perfect and sinless because the embodiment of sin and maybe for the first time in forever Jesus felt a void, a separation from God the Father and the Holy Spirit which he had been in perfect union with since .. well forever. A thought that comes to mind because of this is that at this moment Christ identifies with anyone who has lost someone, he feels the sudden void and grief of losing contact with a loved one. But getting back to my point, there is an eternal lake of fire which is reserved for satan and his demons, as to whether hell exists in the same place only God knows. But I do know this, right now living on earth, God's presence is all around us even if we don't know him in personal relationship. The idea of a complete and utter separation from the presence of God - Thanatos would be hell in and of itself, to finally know the truth that an unconditional love existed and you rejected it and now stuck in eternity you are forever separated from that, could anything be worse than that? In conclusion, whether you agree with my theology/view of things or not, it is my belief, it is something I'm thought and considered for a long time not something I'm parroting from someone else, but I put it out there for consideration and something to think about earnestly. Maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong, just as what Paul is saying, he is human and therefore capable of fallacy and being incorrect in what he preaches just as any pastor or minster does. In the end anything that is preached must be judged against the Word of God and if with the help of the Holy Spirit you read the Bible and can't see scriptural support for what is being said then disregard it and stick only with what does agree with scripture.

Your old, Adam self. And not just to deny, to let it die. So that not I, but Christ now lives in me (Gal. 2:20). Therefore, everything that is true about Jesus is true about you. Christ-You is perfect and without sin. It's in your Bible. But if you choose to believe that you are sin and born from Adam, that's OK too, it's your choice. some believe they are no more than intelligent monkeys. You believe you are sin. Not sure which is worse. Life can be better than that, though. The Bible says we are born from God. Bethlehem is our story. We can be gods-in-the-making. Nothing heretical about that.

that is a very very good question…. if that’s something that’s really been tugging at your heart/mind i say prayerfully ask god that very question. there are a couple verses pertaining to his faithfulness to answer our prayers/requests. 1 John 5:14 reads- “this is the confidence we have in APPROACHING god: that if we ASK ANYTHING according to his will, he hears us.” Rich i encourage you to boldly and confidently take this question to the one in question.. and boldly expect an answer. a good father does not leave his children in the dark with these questions. only thing i’d say is if you want a black or white answer.. also expect to get one in technicolor that will shift your paradigm of thinking.

Yes there is some wrong spirit in the core of teaching...I have his book "lies we believe about God" just read the chapter where he claims that we don't need salvation that Jesus did it already for everybody.. in other words it feels we don't have to repent from sins.. as Jesus did it already and we can have with him already relationship... But wait.. to be able to have with Him relationship I have to come to God through the Holy Spirit which should be activated through the Holy Spirit inside of me.. otherwise I can't come there by myself.. So there are some weird things going on.. like it feels there is no hell for anybody cause Jesus died for all.. but that theory doesn't sound in my spirit like truth

@Patrick Faricy No, it doesn't. David, Jonah, Moses, Elijah and Jesus weren't Christians by any stretch of the word. As for your Sunday School teaching, perhaps studying the historical context of the Bible, its sayings and its translations would be of some value. Spending eternity in the lake of fire? Did you know the book of Revelation almost didn't make it into canon? And in the Eastern Orthodox church it is not used for liturgy? Because they knew it was not meant to be read as prophecy, let alone to be taken literally. But we took the Bible into our own hands, ignorant of how the texts came to be composed, and used it as a weapon to draw crowds on Sundays!

This sophistry of “healing” the crucifixion and overlaying our “trauma” onto a false parable of the cross isn’t reasonable. We must remember psychology is one of the philosophies of man with much Greek imports and ideas. “Unto us a Son is born, unto us a child is given”. We mustn’t loose sight of the fullness of the Trinity’s involvement in the crucifixion. If we do we shall need a devil to pay as in the ransom atonement. God is not that devil. He is our Savior from beginning to end. We will be able to see the payment was given in full for our redemption by God to God from God. Who fulfills the promise by the oath He swore to Himself. For there is none greater He could swear by. 🙏🏽

Where is the teaching of repentance? Where is the teaching that the human heart is evil apart from regeneration? Where is the teaching that God’s wrath abides on the unsaved? Where is the teaching that the mercy and grace of God are just as foundational to His attributes as His holiness and righteousness and justice? Why does Young teach Tri-Theism? Why does he teach the heresy of Patripassionism (the heresy that the Father was crucified with the Son)? I write this and ask these questions out of genuine love and respect. Christ is the only way to salvation, and what made that possible? The entirety of God’s wrath being poured out on Christ in judgment for sin. When the Father draws us to Himself through Christ and we are regenerated and born again, we are then justified in Christ for all eternity. This is essential to the gospel. We are chosen, we are called, we are given new life, we are converted, we are justified, we are adopted, we are sanctified (to life and to service), we persevere in Christ, and then we are glorified. All glory to God for His grace and mercy which saves us! Alleluia!

Anyone who believes that God does not punish needs to read Matthew in the bible. People stop agreeing with Paul Young just because he makes you feel better about your sins. You KNOW in your hearts that God does punish and if you want to feel better about your daily life..read the Bible and ask God into your hearts, repent, and accept Him as the ONLY one true God and your Lord and Savior in Jesus' name. So let me get this straight. God is perfect and infinite, and he obviously knows humanity better than we know ourselves. Because of this, he would know the best ways to teach and guide us. Even we know that retributive punishment accomplishes nothing with children --- that people learn by watching, not by being force fed. So, are you saying that we know more than God does about how humans learn? Or maybe God does know and has a plan to draw all men to himself, as is stated many times in the Scriptures.
@jasonspencer85585 жыл бұрын
@Thought Crimes Hm, I actually never said that. I actually just asked an ontological question about God and his wisdom in dealing with humanity. Does he know how we are built and how we learn, or not? Plus, I don't belief in prooftexting. That is abuse of Scripture.

@77goanywhere6 жыл бұрын
Julian Gunther The love of God. Wherever unhindered destruction is at work Gods love for those people will move him to act. The flood was cleansing by water, and Sodom and Gomorrah was cleansing by fire. In both cases it was mercy, not furious judgement ar work. Remember, Jesus went to the people who died in the flood to preach the good news to them. Clearly this was not a place of eternal punishment, but simply where they were waiting until this time. Jesus compared Jerusalem with Sodom and Gomorrah when he prophesied it's destruction. But it was not that Jesus didn't love Jerusalem, or Sodom and Gomorrah. In both cases the actions of the people unleashed the destruction they suffered. Sin itself unleashes destruction. It is God who works to release people from this destruction.

on the issue of the nature of God, the doctrine of hell, and the nature of mankind: This man's statements are scripturally unfounded, they are lies without foundation. this is heresy. • Jesus did not come to save us from God, but to restore us to him. God does not want to feed our sins but to free us from them. (John 3:16-17, Romans 5:8 6:23, Psalm 5:4 etc.) •Hell is not a temporary place of purging that extinguishes once we've learned our lesson. it is our destination if we reject God and the work he did for us. it does not relent. consider luke 16:19 - 31 • mankind is NOT by nature good. (Romans 3:10, jeremiah 17:9, romans 3:23) JESUS IS NOT "OUR BROTHER," HE IS OUR LORD AND OUR GOD.
@brittanybraden10116 жыл бұрын
I looked at all of the verses you mentioned and honestly did not see any contradictions between them and what Paul is saying. I suppose it’s all about individual perspective. That being said I’ve recently learned that for the early church non-belief in an eternal conscious torment hell was not considered heresy. It’s also important to note that when fire is used in the Bible by God it is restorative in nature. I’ve also recently learned that the words translated as “eternal” and “Hell” in English actually had different meanings in the original Greek. I would suggest comparing Bible translations with Young’s Literal Translation because to my understanding it’s a more accurate translation of the original language scripture was written in. If you’re a reader I suggest “Hell Yes Hell No” by John Noe or anything by Brad Jersek (there’s a lot of him on KZbin as well). I don’t wish to debate you and respect your convictions. I believe there is still lots of mystery surrounding exactly what happens next and don’t wish to be dogmatic about it. To me the most important thing is belief in the life, death and resurrection of Christ. Which as far as I can tell is a belief we share. However I am slowly learning that God’s great love and plan of redemption may be much greater than we could even imagine so I wanted to share some resources with you. 😊

Brittany Braden thank you for considering and responding. With all due respect to you as a person, i cannot accept what is known as the Young’s translation, OR the New World Translation for that matter, because they conflict with the original documents and promote false theology, but this textual criticism is a far different subject. I believe that TRUTH of our maker is the most valuable thing one can search for. if you would like to figure this thing out together with me, I’d be happy to have that discussion. Feel free to email me at magickrakkah@yahoo.com
@makestraightthewayministries6 жыл бұрын
Brittany Braden just for the sake of clarity on my original comment: the doctrine of hell is important to understand, but if you are mistaken on this matter is really not that big an issue BUT if you have the wrong Jesus, you are eternally lost forever, (Galatians 1:6-9) and THIS was why i attributed heresy to these men, who say against the scriptures that men arent bad, that Jesus wasn’t who he said he was, that his sacrifice on the cross was to save us from God (as if God is some savage monster). There’s so much to say about what these men have said that is SO inaccurate to the word God delivered to us once and for all by the end of the first century. 2 Timothy 3:16, Jude 3, and 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 The identity of the one called The Christ is the most important thing in existence. “Who is Jesus?” And have you submitted yourself unto him? That is what it all boils down to
@makestraightthewayministries6 жыл бұрын
Brian Jett idk why you bring up calling people fools, cuz i didn’t. Go talk to Mr T haha But in all seriousness, thank you for taking the time to write your very lengthy and well-informed response. It’s very well thought out, but there is, however, one fatal flaw (among many) that undermines all of it as false: we have found original copies of these manuscripts that predate everything you’ve listed. We have access to them, and have found that it’s been preserved perfectly (w/ exception to a few spelling errors). While no translation from this Greek/Hebrew to english is perfect, to argue it’s corruption is made null-and-void upon this discovery made decades ago. What we have is what they wrote. Period. And if you don’t believe that, you don’t believe God. you’d might as well throw the whole Bible into the trash and join the atheist “religion.” As for the difference between my position, and that of the Mormon church or the JW Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (to answer directly) is that those groups ADD TO and SUBTRACT FROM God’s word, twisting and distorting it to fit their theology, making a mockery of all that is holy by deliberately defying the Word of God: preaching another Jesus, another gospel. The Holy Spirit, through Paul, warned very strictly against this in his letters to the Corinthians (2Cor 11:3-4)and to the Galatians (1:6-10), and these liars are to be accursed. TRUTH is what Jesus came to testify of (John 18:35), claiming to be the way TRUTH and life (John 14:6), he says the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE (John 8:32). If that’s the case, what are you afraid of in pursuing the Truth of scripture from Gods own words? Jesus spoke more about hell than he did paradise so it’s really important to understand, and to get it right by believing HIM. Not your perverted “scholars” or “prophets” bringing new “revelation” (that is to say “heresies”) under the guise of a holy mandate. God DOES NOT CHANGE (Num 23:19, Mal 3:6). He will not contradict himself. He will always remain unfettered in his nature and his sovereignty, even despite the best efforts of these organizations to corrupt it. When a new prophet arises, Be like the Bareans (Acts 17:11), and “test all things” (1 Thess 5:21) by scripture, & if they speak on behalf of God and it does not come to pass, THEY ARE FALSE PROPHETS (which both organizations are NOTORIOUS for - consider chapters Deut 13,18), if they lie about the gospel or preach another jesus they are to be accursed (Gal 1:6-10). God’s words - not mine. You would do well to reconsider your position, your eternity depends on it. You will stand as a “damned” fool on judgement day if you have blasphemed the Holy Spirit by rejecting Jesus and the propitiatory sacrifice he has made on your behalf and mine, because to reject Him is to reject the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And when you stand in front of that great white throne of God, the only thing that will matter is to have willingly accepted Christ as your Lord, Saviour, & God. That means believing what he’s said too, being careful to observe it. This is why 2 Tim 2:15 urges that we RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH. Who will you believe: God or your false prophet?
