Hello Herbie. Another good video! A bit of advice, when lubricating your chain(s), be it paste or spray, do so from the inside, not outside. Centrifugal force will push the lubricants into the links and sprockets. Got this tip 40 years ago, been doing it since. Keep up the good work 👍.

First! Another great video…. I really liked the 17 tooth swap when I did it…. Looking forward to if you do a fork upgrade video… keep up the great work!

👍🏻 Thank you, just curious what didn’t you like about the forks? The only issue I seem to have is sticking when rebounding. I’m thinking about changing the oil and going to a 5w oil

@@herbiesgarage681yep, that’s the issue I noticed … only at speed (say 50-55) and hitting a hard lip edge on a road, like a repair transition … I only suggest a fork upgrade since I figure they have a cost target to hit on these… now I’m not suggesting a full Ohlins upgrade costing half the price of the bike 😂😂😂 …. But I have heard that forks can be slightly improved with thinks like fork oil swap, perhaps different springs…. Or as the cafe racer guys do, GXSR forks seem popular for some reason as swaps 🤷🏻‍♂️!!! The sticking issue is jarring at speed so anything you think would be an improved rebound would be huuuuuuge!! Keep up the great work!!!

Can I change the sprocket and chain with just a front and rear stand I don’t have a center stand but I do have the replacement sprocket and chain….also could you make a video explaining how to change the fuel pump on a kpr200? I’m currently trying to get my Lifan 200 running

If you are just changing the front sprocket and chain then yes a rear stand is all you need. If you’re changing the rear sprocket then you’ll need some sort of jack to hold it up in the middle so you can remove the rear wheel. I’ve not changed or removed the pump before on the KPR but I’m sure it would be pretty easy. I don’t have the KPR anymore unfortunately but I do have the Kpm which would be similar. Are you sure your pump is bad?

@@herbiesgarage681 thank you for responding and I’ve been told that it is possibly that and other things the bike won’t crank and the fuel pump doesn’t engage when the key is turned to crank I’ve also been told it could be spark plugs I do have a slight oil leak but that shouldn’t keep it from starting

@@snoopcampbell4769 your welcome, you should hear the pump cycle for a few seconds when you turn the key on, if it doesn’t then I would check the wires at the pump with a voltage meter and see if it shows 12v at the pump when turn the key on, it should show voltage for a few seconds. If it does then your pump is bad if it doesn’t then you have to trace it back and see where it’s losing voltage.

Nice job Herbie. It is good to know that the stock chain can still be used, as that is not always the case. Out of curiosity, do you prefer an O-ring chain, or non-O-ring?

@@captcraig777 Thank you, I prefer a non o ring chain. Two reasons really, first this being a street bike only won’t see all the dirt and mud which o ring chains help to keep out. Second and most importantly, the non o ring chains have less rolling resistance which is huge on a low hp motorcycle

I'm thinking about changing this on my kmp200 as well. If my main goal is top speed, to be fast enough on the thruway, what are the reasons not to go to 18t or even higher?

@@tran9166 I actually went back to the stock 16 tooth front sprocket. The engine is a really good engine but at 17 hp it’s limited on how much it can pull especially at higher speeds. If your goal is lowering the rpm’s at speed then a 17 tooth might be right for you. In my opinion an 18 tooth is too large and will rob all of the power and most likely will decrease your top speed. Besides I’m not even sure an 18 tooth would fit behind the cover. For me, stock gearing all the way

I haven't released the video yet but top speed is the same with all things being equal. With that said I know from experience that the 17 tooth can bring the top speed up by about 5mph. The main benefit will be lower RPMs in every gear at the same speed.

u should get a 38 tooth rear sprocket to get better speed .
