It's really cutting edge to have a crew living in a ship. I think it's slowly getting more possible. But having a non instanced dwelling is such a cool thing.

This Life Aboard series gets me more invested in Star Citizen than anything CIG's marketing and promises have done. I'm sure I'm not alone in frequently losing hope or interest in SC sometimes when things seem stagnant. But as more of these team-up game loops are fleshed out and become actually viable, it rekindles that anticipation in me. These videos are an amazing way to highlight them. This series changed the way that I run things on my Reclaimer. I hadn't thought to put storage boxes on my ship, and now they are a staple. And I hadn't seriously considered bounty hunting in my Reclaimer, but now I think I'm gonna have to get a crew together and give it a shot.

I love how your attitude when faced with pes deleting your equipment isn't to give up, but to shuffle your logistics to incorporate underway replenishment, and I love that SC even now has enough systems in it where that's feasible. :)

My personal experience with the claw sound effect: Switch to FRACTURE, make sure the field is off (blue) then M to retract the claw. Works every time for me on my Reclaimer, the DSSS MAGPIE. :D

They probably need to set up / tweak heavily peristence priority...for instance ranking placed items highly, trash (empty or used containers, abandoned / damaged / destroyes vehicles) lowly. Or have a lock/starring system where the player can designate things to be protected from density manager tool...though CIG probably would rekect that as against their philosophy

Another well done video Citizen Kate and I had a thought about the cargo boxes but you might want to test. Try taking one of the small cargo boxes filled with items that you want and put it inside a larger cargo box and place it on the same cargo grid inside the ship. Then see if you could retrieve it later on at your stops just to see if all the stuff inside the smaller box remains. The other thing to keep in mind is the PES system it's still in its first iteration and infancy stage so bugs like these are expected to happen until they work it all out. Also, the servers still don't have the full intended server mission in place just yet. So I wouldn't expect the boxes to remain in game where you place them on the ship especially since the ship itself doesn't have a server isolated to it yet. That is something that CIG is still working on and hopefully will have it sometime maybe this coming up year at some point. By the way Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, your entire family and everyone in your org as well.

To be fair, that was what the Star-fairer was designed for to refuel, and makes sense for cargo, we just need push CIG in that direction. As for PES they now could in theory have PES as was when they first brought it in, remember all them wrecks out side the stations , it was amazing, and now with hull munching working.

Woot! Reclaimer Life! Lets GOOOOO! Btw, anything goes missing, blame Gremlins. And for feedback to CS, I would suggest they make a priority script when it comes to items on ships. Items that are considered "Consumed" or "empty" should be prioritized. Like consumed beverages would be deleted. Empty items like crates have some kind of auto store script that stows it in available ship storage or if not accessible but on a station or port that it would be stored in the location site inventory. But otherwise, everything left as placed in the ship.

I wonder if "all" boxes disappear now or it's only the "new" ones. I always used the loot boxes from destroyed vehicles on my flagship and I wonder if those disappear now as well. Also found leaving bottles around the ship will cause boxes to disappear as well as Pico's lol weird stuff to cause these issues but I have noticed on my Reclaimer that even boxes on cargo grid have disappeared but I cleaned off everything and nothing has disappeared since even gear boxes

Box suggestion:. Bounty target on moon Calliope around Microtech at the caterpillar wreck site can yield hand carriable movable into ship storage RED storage box. I have not seen other colors however previous patches did have boxes of other colors at wreck sites.

If you be think about it, you guys are kind of completing the Quanta economy system. Or creating a player based one. If more large crews salvage in an area the player job requests increase for that area. You can also set your own pay out price creating competition among different salvaging groups. These series are the exact reason i wish cig would bring in the liberator. 2 teams working together. 1 team lives on the reclaimer doing exactly what your doing. 2nd team on the liberator that hauls 2 fighters with a c8r inside for light injuries. Off load ur salvage on to the liberator andngo sell while the fighters are protecting the reclaimer.

I think PES uses a density of objects to decide on cleanup, not any kind of quality of the object. That's why the hospital gowns just stick around. It likely counts objects for a certain volume of space. Close to stations, that may include part of the station interior

The game absolutely needs insurance for the items in the ship. In my opinion, it can even be a little more expensive than the items are worth so that no one uses it as an exploit. The important thing is that everything is exactly back in its place. Because some people would like to decorate their ship nicely and save the work they have done.

I never send out pings while trying to avoid being seen as makes you flash like a lighthouse on people's HUDs. I have to admit that I have not seen this effect for a few years so perhaps it is something CIG changed a long time ago and I am just way out of date 😂. Might be worth checking though the next time one of your Org mates is on the way to rendezvous ie do some pings before they get in radar range but are looking in your direction and also do do some pings before they get in visual range.

Not sure why but when I get close to landing, my reclaimer will not hover at all. It drops like a rock. No matter how much spacebar I use
