All Eyez On Me is my favorite album of all time. That album changed how I looked at music genres as a whole and especially hip hop as a teenager. Life After Death is a Great Album but All Eyez On Me holds a special place in my heart. Especially Skandalouz. That track with Daz Dillinger on production and Nate Dogg on the hook is my favorite

I feel ya. The production and execution is just phenomenal, on that song and the album as a whole. The album was mixed and engineered by DJ QUIK, but it was mastered by Brian Gardner, a world class mastering engineer. Look him up if you don’t know about him. But when you have that kind of talent, along with all the finest west coast beat smiths on the boards, you are bound to create something special musically. Ofc, this doesn’t even touch on PAC’s writing, which is in top form, and his ever expanding artistry. He brought us front and center to his world. It’s hard to say if AEOM is 2Pac’s best album for certain, but a strong case can be made. I have it essentially tied with MATW and Makaveli - all 3 are masterpieces. I will say, it is certainly his most definitive and influential album for sure.

@@shawngibson5293 You’re right, Blasphemy lyrically murders anything Big ever wrote. Pac was spitting scripture, Big never wrote anything on that level, or So Many Tears. Big can have all the technical skill in the world but he ain’t half the songwriter Pac is. To be fair though, few are. Don’t get me wrong I love Big’s music but Pac was just in another universe, he TRANSCENDS music. The insane thing is that he made it look easy. Hail Mary was made in literally 30 mins and it’s one of the greatest hip hop tracks of all time, and that’s just one example. He accomplished in roughly 5 years what most top notch musicians take 30 years to do, it’s just unthinkable really to put Big or really any other hip hop artist for that matter on the same planet as Pac. Biggies music was the soundtrack to a select audience. PAC’s music represented the soundtrack to HUMANITY as a whole.

Y'all consider I Love the Dough skippable??? WOW! Seems like Rod played WAYYYY more skippables from AEOM: When We Ride, Can't C Me, Tradin War Stories, Shorty Wanna Be a Thug--when he could've easily just played the top 13 tracks from the album. Surprised I didn't hear I Ain't Mad Atcha. And there's no way AEOM should've beat I Got a Story to Tell, and Picture Me Rollin shouldn't have beat Mo Money Mo Problems. Entertaining episode for sure. @@olschoolTonyCarter it’s one thing to say AOEM is better than I Got a Story to Tell just because it’s a full song with a hook and multiple verses (even though I disagree with that too because I Got a Story to Tell is one of BIG’s most infamous stories-in rap and in NBA circles-and AOEM doesn’t even hit as hard as Street Dreams by Nas IMO). But to say I Love the Dough is a skip is baffling to me. That’s probably the most evenly matched head-to-head we ever got from Big and Jay. That song is filled with quotables + getting Angela Winbush to do the hook interpolating her own classic! 🔥 I respect your opinion though homie

I’m a New Yorker born and raised, love BOTH artists and their catalogs, usually I prefer Pac and in this case, YUP All Eyez On Me takes it by a MILE for a great second disc while Life After Death has a lack-luster second disc minus songs like Notorious Thugs, Goin Back to Cali and Sky’s The Limit. If it was Ready To Die versus Makaveli or MATW, THEN we’d have a proper battle! 😎💯

LAD is the more consistent, better written LP and I think there is a greater percentage of good tracks over skippable tracks vs AEOM. AEOM represents an amazing, iconic and ultimately tragic moment in time and has the higher more meaningful highs over LAD, but there is a lot more filler. I definitely skip 8/9 tracks when I have it on and AEOM would be a far better experience at 18 tracks. The features on AEOM aren’t great either, especially the Outlaws features and the singers thoroughout are at best decent but are kinda average overall. Both are great albums and still probably the best Double CD’s released in HIp Hop history, but if I could only have one, it would be LAD. On another note, I still can’t believe this guy played the R.Kelly track in a beat battle.
