I wish the writer's strike had not cut their last season short. It left so many loose ends. What happened to Paige? What happened to Pastor Rob? Why didn't he comfort Mary after George died? Why did Mary go back to the same miserable church that completely let her down in her time of need? What happend to Connie after loosing her home and business? How did Missy comes to grips with the death of her Dad and her feelings of being invisable? What heppened to Tam? I hope they tie up some of this in the new show.

Paige, I'd like to think didn't do the unprecedented and take her own life, but, unfortunately that seems to line up with how depressed she since her parents divorce. Since she did get more troubled in each season she appeared and Young Sheldon did get darker overtime and they dealt with heavier topics. She also did underage drinking, which means she might've have died from alcohol poisoning. I'm sorry I went down a sad route, but, a lot of sources I read said that Paige's life had taken a turn. On a happier note, we meet Tam in Season 12 of TBBT, in the episode "The Tam Turbulence where they acknowledge his existence in Sheldon's childhood. I think Meemaw got arrested or something during Season 7, so, that might have something to do with her personality shift. Missy went off the rails, I think, due to George's passing. At least Georgie implies in his TBBT episode that Missy seemingly never overcame her loss and that's the reason why she didn't manage to become successful and why she never managed to settle down with one husband for the rest of her life, despite having made a promise to George to work on her behaviour and having stepped up for a bit in Season 7. I know you didn't ask about Dr Sturgis and Dr Linkletter, two important mentors to Sheldon while he was growing up. But, I think D. Sturgis, was like 88 in S1 of TBBT and may have either died or become too weak to function correctly. Dr Linkletter probably had something similar and so Sheldon didn't talk about them for years until after it had ended.

I’d like to think MeMaw got a say in her new house remodel. Maybe getting another wing to it so Mary and maybe sometimes Missy moved in with her. Pastor Rob may have been transferred and that could explain seeing less of him. Don’t know about the older Pastor. I remember he and his wife moved near Mary. Did he have his niece living at his house or was that like a summer vacation? I think Pastor Jeff and his wife had a child, but I’m not 100% sure. Did George and Mandy go on to having baby #2? What was MeMaw’s love interest, Dale, right? Maybe Dale found another love interest? A lot could have happened.

I'm a 77-year old papa and my 3 granddaughters hooked me on this show during our mountain vacation in Colorado. We only made it through S1 1/2 together but since my return home, I've been streaming it every chance I get. I'm hooked. Have known many fine folks from Texas during my life and Meemah is the Lone Star state, if anyone ever was. No nonsense, frankness, "Get over it brutality" and as perfectly cast loving television character, if there ever was one. I'm dreading the season finale, given the spoilers shown here but no matter what happens, The Cooper's are like so many good families I've know during my lifetime.

We all knew in the Big Bang George had died. However watching it on Young Sheldon. It was extremely heartbreaking and sad. You know when people will post asking a question whose death of a character on a show hits you hard. This one really messed me up as i am typing this I have tears running down my face. I know Annie Potts came out and said she was pissed. That the higher-ups wanted to save money and cut everybody out and leave it with Georgie his wife and daughter. She also made it clear to people don’t treat the kids and the baby bad because it’s not their fault. It’s the higher up people that controls the network. I guess some people started saying nasty stuff about the new show and the actors. She said that’s not right to take it out on these kids that she loves dearly. They have absolutely no control. What the higher up people do.

What I don't get... is how super-fans of the show assume that all the facts of both shows were known from the beginning of time. Why was MeeMaw different? Because the younger MeeMaw wasn't totally conceived of before TBBT was written - - as well as the fact that a child's recollection may not be completely accurate. And regarding the "difference", the older MeeMaw was concerned and upset that someone might have casually hurt her grandson emotionally, and she wasn't afraid to call them out on that. Is that SO different than the younger MeeMaw? Goodness, folks, just enjoy the dang show and telax already.

Mandy and George storyline is so fun to me. I met and married my husband. We never fought, yelled,cursed,acted badly, or spoke anything but love about our family, friends or each other. Then one day, he came home early and said we need to talk. After he said he wanted out, I whispered in his ear” your things will be on the porch in an hour. He left and came back , loaded his stuff and we were divorced 60 days later. I waited for him to come “home” for 35 years. We have been married 11 years now. So yes “ Mandy” you can be the 1st and 2nd wife to the love of your life.

You know I think people sometimes that take things wrong. My husband and I used to bicker back and forth. He was constantly picking on me and teasing me and I do the same to him people always thought we were fighting. Guess what we weren't we were having a blast with each other. I think Mary's doing the same thing I think that what people take as a rude remark about him isn't what she's meaning. Like when he fought a bobcat for licorice. That's not talking bad about him that's telling a funny story about your partner that's not here. And I'm the one who would know my husband died 3 years ago and I still talk about all the crazy stupid stuff you used to do. Because that's how I cope with it. I’m excited to see what happens next with Meemaw, Missy and how Georgie falls into his business. I can relate so well with Missy being she lost the only one in her family that she thought really new her as I felt with my Dads passing like the family was over with for me I just didn’t seem that big of a part of family existed anymore. I was in my own little world trying to be happy and to make others happy that I just felt like I could make any of them happy. I was always trying to make everyone else happy and I never could. So I had my kids so I wouldn’t feel so alone just like Missy with 2 failed marriages and stay busy with my kids an later getting in trouble with drugs and the law

For Sheldon I get it, his dad impacted his life more then anyone and he never appreciated him for it, so when his dad died it was easier to think about to think about the bad things about him because thinking about good times with a loved one hurts. But for Mary she can go f*ck herself,you mean to tell me she was so angry at him for DYING that she just completely hated him for the rest of her life? Because she was on TBBT a bit a she never had one good thing to say about George, the only thing that she insinuated was that George was the only person who knew how to be patient with Sheldon and he was.

I only saw a couple of episodes of TBBT when it was on air, but saw most of it in 5 minute clips on KZbin. Say, is the thing of flipping the video clips a ploy to avoid copyright entanglements? Anyway, I loved Young Sheldon even more - all of the characters were exquisitely cast and directed, and the scripts were well-written and as believable as they could be, given the premise of an inconceivably narrowly-focussed individual. The other characters made the show. Once again, the casting is the real star of this series; whoever did that is above-Sheldon level genius! I cried somewhere during every episode. Human drama feels.

You want to know what really happened? They hadn’t cast young Sheldon at the time of tbbt and thus they had to cast actors in the roles. Reason they didn’t use the cast from tbbt for Sheldon’s family is because they were meant to be younger. Luckily we got tbbt Mary actors daughter as Mary in young Sheldon Before you say anything about Georgie l, he was an original character to young Sheldon before he was added to tbbt for Sheldon’s wedding. At least they got to make tbbt Georgie look like older Georgie

Underrated episode- Season 2 Ep 27 (I’m like 90% sure) In this episode Mary finds out that she’s pregnant. While the news was hard, everyone started adapting. Everything just felt like it was perfect until Mary lost the baby. It was honestly one of the hardest episodes to watch.

I would like to see Meemaw rebuild her house like she planned to, and for George and Mandy to buy their "family" home and still live across the street from Meemaw. Then they can keep her in the series. Then when Georgie gets rich he can move out and let Missy have it to raise her 4 kids in it. BUT....this way Meemaw is ALWAYS there. LOL 😅.

The back characters of the family are all different that the references or appearance in the original show. Mary disparages George several times. MeMaw is completely different. George is not stupid, unfaithful or shiftless as described. (They sorta fixed the infaithful for Sheldon's POV but not Mary's) Georgie and Sheldon were not estranged. However Lorre quickly realized if he did a family sitcom about the family described in TBBT, nobody would watch it for long. Especially as George and MeMaw were the audience favorite characters.

I’m excited about the spin-off. Georgie and Missy were my top two favorites on the show. I love Georgie and Mandy’s relationship. They are up and down, like most couples. I hope that the original Cast make appearances on the new show, especially Meemaw. I love her and Mandy’s relationship. I’ve been bingeing YS for months. I just love it. Funny, bc I struggle getting into TBBT. LOL

I don’t think that Sheldon wasn’t attached to his father, but on the contrary- but he shares his mother’s way to deal with him passing: talking smack about his father, so George’s passing wouldn’t be so traumatic (you don’t usually miss that much a guy who was considered insufferable by you).

I was just watching a rerun of TBBT and George Sr. AND Georgie were on a video that Sheldon and Amy were watching. I’m wondering if the two shows overlapped. The last season of TBBT and the first season of Young Sheldon! I’m going to google it…yes! The first season of Young Sheldon was 2017 and the last season of TBBT started in 2018

Greetings from the UK where they are just airing the final episodes of YS. I really enjoyed the series particularly the first few episodes when Sheldon really was young. Lately I think it has suffered, Sheldon's story lines being a bit dull whereas the supporting characters have blossomed. George has always been a favourite, I was really moved by his death. Congratulations to all, a job well done. PS If there is to be a new series, please don't have a laughter track, I've never taken to BBT because of it.

Goergie wasn’t angry at Sheldon for leaving. He tells Sheldon both he and Mary protected him . Didn’t tell him the troubles that were going on at home. What he resented Sheldon for was: Sheldon never thanking him. Once he told Sheldon everything. Sheldon understood what Goergie did. He didn’t even question why would Mary hide this. He accepted it. Thanked Goergie for taking care of him and his family. That’s all Goergie wanted .
