We attend a church in Wisconsin, similar to what you described in Florida. We were raised in a more conservative setting, I completely agree with you on how its good to search the scriptures for yourself and have convictions of your own. And I love that you are so respectful of all Amish/Mennonites, and that you honestly and openly educate those who have questions, there are so many misconceptions out there.

The way you answered the question about your income was so graceful. Sometimes influencers are defensive about being monetized, I think because there’s a perception that making and posting videos is easy. I know it’s not easy and it’s very time consuming. Yours was just an open, honest, and lovely response!

I grew up around a lot of older people speaking it and really regret not taking more time to learn. Now there aren't a lot of people my age around that know it. My husband does, some, but not enough to teach me. It was a big part of why I chose to take German for many years in school. Definitely try to get your kids interested and pass it on ❤

This was very interesting! We are Christ Followers although not as conservative as some with certain things. I love learning about different religions and denominations. My husband recently graduated with his BA in religion and the discussions that his studies allowed us to dive into, have been amazing and invaluable and truly made us dive into our beliefs and take a hard look at what we truly feel the Bible says when looking at social context of the time coupled with the Greek and Hebrew translations. We’ve also developed a deep appreciation for other religions as they have convictions as strong as ours, and while we may not agree, they deserve to be respected. I love the style of your home! It’s so cozy and wish my home was similar. Finances haven’t really allow us to choose a lot of our style but hopefully that will change in the coming years. Are you naturally a good housekeeper? I’m not and it’s VERY hard for me to keep a tidy home normally. That’s now compounded with being pregnant with our 6th child and all the physical hurdles that entails. I’ve rambled but wanted to say you’re adorable and I enjoy your channel :)

Between my parents and our blended family, I have five older brothers. My mother was 38 when I was born at 2:30am and the nurses had to quiet her because she talked on and on about how excited she was having a girl 💗 and because she had a baby girl, she dressed me in dresses until I was about 10, except for a snowsuit. I climbed trees, roads a bike, played in the dirt, in a dress or skirt. I went through several years wearing modest-ish slacks; for the past several years, I’ve made my own dresses and don’t own any slacks 🙂

Hi Lynette! I enjoy your videos. I grew up in a Mennonite community here in Kentucky. My grandparents (from Kentucky) became Mennonites when missionaries traveled here from Pennsylvania and Delaware in the early 1940's. So I grew up immersed in the Mennonite environment and enjoyed many of the traditions that you talk about and do miss it a lot sometimes! Best wishes to you and your little family!!

Hey Lynette ~ look up on the internet: "Diatomaceous Earth + Ants" We use this, it is a FOOD GRADE of diatomaceous earth, so it won't hurt anyone's pets if they happen upon it. We got ours on Amazon, and you can get something called a 'Pest Pistol" for it that looks like an accordian bottle of sorts with a powder mister spout on it to 'poof' the dust onto carpets and such if you were to get fleas or some such bitting bug in the house. It dries out the bugs and they die, and you aren't putting chemicals on your property. There is another kind of diatomaceous earth you may see at Walmart and such, but it is NOT food grade, and can harm pets, kids, etc so make sure not to get that one. - it is for pools to clean them if you have a diatomaceous earth filter for that purpose. It was very interesting to hear about the customs of Mennonites regarding hair and coverings, as well as dress and when that starts age-wise. Thanks, I learn something everytime I watch a video you make. Blessings!
