I loved the fact that you 2 didn't know about the torch that I usta play with many years ago. That unit was a neat fire starter my grandfather used to burn off his fields in Ionia, MI when my mom was growing up. My dad taught how to use it safely & we could star a fire & toast marshmallows. Now kids make S'mores just to eat marshmallows. The salmon was beautiful hanging there ready to eat.
@Bushradical5 жыл бұрын
Those old torches are a dime a dozen and I've seen them everywhere my whole life.......but i have no idea what they are supposed to do or how to use one........I think next week I'll track one down and figure it out. After this video, I respected you. I kept thinking what kind of woman is with you, but it turns out you've been together for so long, respect you for that. It's been a long time since I've seen all this, fish blood, giblets. I myself come from Kolyma, this is Russian Alaska. The city of Magadan. And I myself now live in the south of Russia and to tell the truth I regret that I left 6 years ago. In the north, people are better and stronger in every sense. As you say, may God bless you. And we say God grant you health. It sounds stupid in English, but this is the most Russian wish.

One of my first jobs out of high school was rafting logs to the local pulp and paper mill complex near my home. I worked on the swing shift, using a pusher boat, pike poles 18 feet long and wearing caulk boots while running around ontop the logs so the mill crane could bring them into the cutting deck. That was the best summer job a healthy young man could have. Sunsets across the bay, using your body and brain to get the job done. On the other hand, doing that job in winter would have sucked! LOL

The torch was good to burn the weeds from the fields before my grandfather plowed the field for planting. He quit farming when he got older, his 4 sons left & then he worked in a car factory until h retired. He gave it to my dad to start the coal in the forge in my high school foundry shop. It isn't there any more as the shop was remodeled & became just a wood shop.
