Multiple sclerosis is not typically a fatal disease but we don’t live as long as people without MS. There is good news though, there are things we can do to increase our longevity! In this video I talk about life expectancy and how it is changing for people with MS.

Thank you for addressing this tough subject. The day i was first told I probably have MS was a terrible day. I was so terrified of what was to come. I thought it was a terminal disease. My Mum said "you can live a long life with MS". This was in 1998, a long time ago! She was obviously right, as Mums often are! There were no drugs for MS back then. As you say, exercise, staying hydrated, eating well, and so on are all things we can do to help ourselves stay healthier. I only wish that back in the day that I could have seen this video. My anxiety would have reduced straight away! You have such a wonderful channel, which is so informative. Keep up the good work! x 👏

Thank you for being the friend I like to listen to. You make having MS easier to live with and function, especially being on my own. I don’t have to explain why I feel the way I do to anyone, you get it. Thank you!

You are a good speaker and have chosen an important topic to address. My neurologist said (I got diagnosed january of this year) that my life expectancy will not be shorter, so that’s really positive. Are you in the Living Well Hub with OMS? I recently joined and feel like it’s such a positive community! I will follow the Pathway program soon and am very curious about it. Thank you for making these videos, you feel like a friend to me! 🌷

Happy Mothers Day & thank you for sharing this video on a tough subject. While I have no reason to be suicidal thanks to the unconditional & loving support from family and friends, I am however not thrilled with the idea of living longer. I say this thanks this MonSter in us. Half of my fatigue stems from the fight i give to remain positive & active in my own life. I do eat very well thanks to being a professional chef & researching what foods are good and not good, thankfully I enjoy enough of the healthy foods & I'm strong enough to limit what we shouldn't really have to maintain a healthier life. I do drink water mostly every day & have learned the importance of drinking the recommended Early in the day & less as I get closer to bed time. What I & I'm sure most everyone may prefer, Quality over quantity, if they can reduce or even Better, Eliminate symptoms Before extending average life span then to me That would be far better.

Not good news to me!I’m suffering with progressive MS and have no quality of life. So I wish I could die now at 60 yrs of age. Having to keep existing on my own with all my horrible symptoms is inhumane & beyond cruel! It’s torture!

I kinda thank God I won't live as long. Waking up daily in this jail is hell. I like sleeping because I dream I'm walking again. Sorry to be so pessimistic but it's the truth. My son is my caregiver i have guilt everyday because he can't do the things he wants to do.

@@EvenSoItIsWell really hard. It torn my marriage apart. So much for in sickness and in health. He was a fixer but he couldn't fix me. I praise God everyday for my son tho, he keeps me going. Ty for all you're content i hope to be more positive one day just today isn't that day. I have zero energy to go see my elderly mother. She understands as both of her daughters have MS
