Its not surprising that California residents are leaving for The Philippines. Federal and State taxes are pushing citizens out of California. If they decide to remain in the US , they relocate to Texas or my state, Florida.

at one point the US thought about making the Philippines a territory or a state even....it was a territory of the US from 1898 until the end of WW2...it is not a far stretch to have people from California move there ^^ peace.

A couple of months ago when i was in cebu. I've thought of that idea about the fundings for the locals. Not with a business, but getting donations etc. I may join him in his and still will do mines.

Hi, I have a question about a workman's comp ck I receive every month. They will not mail to me outside the United States. I can deposit the check over my phone once I get physical copy. I just saw a video by Gio and he gets mail FedEx to the Philippines for $80 a pop through a forwarding service he uses. He only has to do that at most 1x a year. I would have to do it every month. Do you know of a cheaper service or any idea how I can get that deposited the cheapest?????
@TheEnterprisingExpat
@TheEnterprisingExpat Ай бұрын
Sign up a mail handling service like ipostal1 for about $15 per month or so and then they will scan the checks they receive which you can access online and hence deposit I believe. That should effectively take care of your problem I hope.

Hi, why not have it delivered to a friend/family in the US, then once they get it, they can send you a copy to your phone or email (pic) then you call them in the US with a US number (Skype Number for example) and then deposit the check over your phone? You would not have to have the physical check in your hands. peace.

@@biglance The banking phone app takes a picture of the physical check on front and back. I suppose I will test it by taking a picture of it and email it to myself and see if the banking app will pick it up from computer screen

@@biglance it worked, i had to take a few pictures of it but it worked. So I would need VPN to log in to my banking app and then have a relative send me clear picture. Just might work

Yes you need to make a bubble of your life in the Philippines because there is too much poverty in the Philippines that you hate going around your neighborhood unless you live in the rich neighborhood of the Philippines so you do not see garbage and ugly dilapidated buildings which makes you cringe every time.

@TheSavvyExpat If he's such an entrepreneur, he wouldn't settle but straddle between two economies because he can afford it. Plus, an entrepreneur doesn't need your help since he can research just like a businessman to get things done. I have a house in BGC, but my primary residence is in Seattle. Only old white men with meager income are ones settling in the Philippines to stretch their usd.

@TheSavvyExpat There's no assumptions. Unless you have a retirement income, pension or a trust fund baby, eventually you'll reach your dead end just like these guys crying that can't sell their condos after figuring out vlogging is not a sustainable career. As a foreigner, you need a job waiting for you or you're violating immigration laws. There's a reason millions of locals are working overseas. Wait till you experience a serious economic downturn.
