I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I've always been honest with you all, so I'll continue to be. After a short but meaningful 2 years & 2 months, I'm ending my plant-based journey. It feels cautious to say this. I won't return to old habits & maintaining 90% plant-based diet. Plz understand that doesn't mean I'll share meat recipes soon. It's for upcoming travels & to have more options. I won't judge your choices, hope you won't judge me, either. Thanks for your time and watching my video!

I was vegetarian and then vegan for quite a few years and I loved it but my health, unfortunately, wouldn’t allow for me to continue the diet. Between allergies and health issues, I had to change things. We all have to do what’s best for us. My diet is still veggie heavy because that’s what I enjoy. Don’t listen to any of the negative people. Best wishes! ❤

You have to follow the path that you are on right now. It’s your path to follow, no one else’s. I’m vegan right now, but if I’m not happy any more with this path then I’ll change it. Then, that wouldn’t make you vegan. That would make you not a vegan. Anyone who can go back to harming animals was never truly a vegan cuz the word vegan means a lot more than the food someone puts on their plate. While I agree people should do what they feel they want to.. but, people forget there are other beings involved in those choices. And the backwards comments of live happy live free, is such a slap in the face to those beings on the plates. :/ js

@ZEJ as someone who's been vegan for 11 years: at a lot of restaurants, especially in smaller places, french fries are often the only vegan option. it's getting better a lot of places and you can of course try to plan your eating and find wich restaurants (if any) has vegan options, but if you're someone who wants to take things as they come and be spontaneous, it's not easy. :/
@Spudley_ann Жыл бұрын
I personally hardly go out anymore, or, I eat healthy before hand, bring my own dressings/sauces and such.. many places have baked potatoes and steamed veggies just say no butter and such. Pretty easy if you want to make it work. There are so many ways to not have to fall back. But.. it is ultimately her decision for what she wants to do.

I do agree, I been vegetarian for 22 years, and the hardest part is not giving up meat, it's feeling left out during social experiences especially family gatherings. But it's the sacrifice I make for my faith, because I didn't go veg for my health. You can still eat meat and be healthy.

It is hard. I have to be vegan and gf for my health conditions. It's so hard to eat out I just make my own food at home. When i travel i often eat stuff that’s visibly plant based but not the broth and condiments. I don’t care coz i don’t eat like that everyday. Jacob is 100% on the dot with what he was saying in the car! I can't imagine how stressful it must be to make literally any decision on social media without being judged or hated on. You're stronger than you think and way stronger and braver than anyone who leaves a hateful comment, because we all know they couldn't sit in the same seat as you. It's YOUR life, you do YOU! We are all supporting and rooting for the both of you and can't wait to see all the upcoming travel videos!!

Thank you for being so honest. I also stopped being fully plant-based after 8 years due to very similar reasons, and mentally I just couldn’t do it anymore. I didn’t want a restricted diet to be another thing on my mind constantly, on top of everything else. I hope you don’t let the negative reactions get in the way of doing what’s best for you! ♥️

You have honestly helped me get through some hard times with intense anxiety and self doubt. Your humor, kindness, and sharing of your food has been a home away from home to me over the years. Despite not being plant based myself, I kept watching for YOU! Because YOU ARE AMAZING 🎉

The only judgement I want to make is how happy I am for you and Jacob. I see a true partnership with the two of you, what a gift and a blessing. I always ask the question why were we made to eat meat and seafood if we shouldn't, makes no sense, it's really hard to eat 100% vegan, requires lots of condiments, sauces and so on to change it up. No matter Seonkyoung and Jacob, do what makes you happy. Hard to believe you are willing to give up your piece of paradise, but I know you will carry the memories and whenever you need a peaceful place to go, it will be right there in your beautiful head. Congratulations on your American passport, thought you already had one. Can't wait to hear what's next!

Dear SeokYoung, I have been watching your videos for years. You literally thought me how to make Asian food (that I love so much) at home. You did that in the most fun way with your sparkly personality. And I appreciate it very much. It’s crazy to me that we have to emphasized this and assure you but of course you can eat and live your life the way you want to. And I know that’s easily said and there are always people who judge others for their personal choices. Even when it’s food. But I hope you learn to tune those people out. Especially the ones who criticize only to be hateful. They are not worth your energy whatsoever. Most of us followed you because we like your personality and we love your food. That didn’t change for me when you went plant based. Although there was some adjusting as I’m not plant based. It certainly won’t change now because you decided to not go 100% plant based anymore. Life is so short, do what makes you happy, eat what makes you happy. Lots of love for you and Jacob from Europe.

I have been a huge fan of yours for soo long and was excited when you decided to go plant based. I too go back and forth between plant based and vegetarian and understand the struggles with eating when dining out and traveling, no judgement here! I am so excited to see where life takes you and look forward to new videos/vlogs. Jacob is so sweet and I loved his energy in this video. Love you guys!!!!!

Kudos to you, Jacob, for standing up for your wife. Haters are going to hate. Let them spew all the garbage they want. Seonkyoung, you've given people across the world so much, and continue to do so. You need to take care of yourself, physically and mentally. Same for Jacob. One thing I've learned in my travels: the first people to point out your faults are the last to admit to their own. I personally enjoy the garlic noodle recipe you showed a while ago and tweaked it a bit for my own tastes. It's great with or without whatever meat you want to add. So you both keep supporting each other through thick and thin. And keep a sense of humor. My wife and I just marked 30 years married, and we agree that keeping a sense of humor makes it easier to support each other. Whenever haters make stupid comments, just consider the source, laugh it off, and move forward.

My heart was broken when I knew that u discontinued your plant based business. You and your husband are soon nice, u deserve to be recognized. Am so thankful for sharing your wonderful talent that God gave you. I was so happy that I met you and tasted your tasty plant based foods in Maui last March 2023. My daughter want to taste your food in Maui but she will be in Maui sometime this month.. she's so unlucky.. Whatever reasons, continue to be you in a humble ways. I wish you luck in all you do. God bless u and family. You are the best.

I think your time spent being plant based has contributed to wonderful recipes! Which helps others who are looking for good food! If this change is able to help you maintain a predominantly plant based diet this is great. I won't touch on the ethics of it all but what you guys are doing being predominantly plant based is what we all should be doing. If this means you'll be able to sustain a diet that is better for the planet then that is wonderful. I hope all the animals that you cared for will be taken care of as you guys have. Loved and cherished. I wish you well on your future travels and adventures!

I think it’s really admirable for you to go 100% plant based for so long. You wanted to give it a try for your reasons. And you are allowed to change your mind! And with the pandemic the last 2 years I know it’s really changed a lot of people’s perspectives. Life is too short. Many have lost their lives during this pandemic not to mention how much it’s impacted our society in general. Wishing you all the best and safe travels! I hope this inspires you to create and share recipes from all the amazing food you’ll eat!

I thought you were vegan and not plant based? I remember seeing a video where you said you went vegan because of the videos you saw of animals and their fate in the food world, wonder how that changed? I'm not vegan but just wondering about your journey.

This makes me so happy! You have been the person since your very beginning videos that taught me how to cook Asian food. Thank you for those years and for being YOU through the years! I went plant based for a while for my health in my inflammation issues, but I didn’t stay there. I just choose to eat organic meats when I do now that also keep me from having the hormonal issues that some meats were causing. LIVE YOUR LIFE IN JOY GIRLIE! 🎉
