I remember her very long white hair that she kept in a neat little bun on top of her head. I don’t remember her singing, but I DO remember that she crocheted the same doily patterns as your Great Grandma does! 🩷. I have her doilies saved for my daughter and granddaughters to keep someday. My Grandpa and their eldest 3 sons were born in your part of the world…Drohobycz, when it was part of Poland. My grandmother AND my Great grandmother were so wonderful and funny.... my great grandmother would make me something to eat and then she would make funny faces at me out of the corner of my eyes until I started laughing.... and then she would always give me cookies, and hugs. Hello Katia, I'm Diana from USA Southern California. I'm 90 years old I just turned 90 in May2024. I'm just like your grandmother90 years born 1934 I was a nurse for 60 years. So I know about caregiving like you do I work 11 years in the hospital and then the other off and on in the homes like you're doing and took care of my mother to the end and my father to the end. What a blessing it is to have your great grandmother with you ♥ All 4 of my grandparents immigrated to Canada from Halychyna at the turn of the last century but 3 of them died (2 at a ripe old age) before or just after I was born. I only knew one Baba and she lived across the country and only met her a few times before she died. How wonderful of you to care and tend to her in her old age. Eu também tive está experiência,minha mãe,ficou acamada Julia com 89 anos não pensei duas vezes,ela ficou paralítica, olhei para ela e falei: Vou cuidar de ti minha mãe,Como uma Rainha,peguei ,blusas,paletós,calças,tudo lindo para ela, cômoda para colocar os lençóis,toalhas e os meus três filhos que estudavam ,ficaram com o pai e avó materna. ....cuidei 24 horas de minha mãezinha,com todo amor e carinho,banho na cama,por dois anos. Numa noite ,fiz um chá,estava muito frio,e ela disse sente do meu lado filha na cama,conversamos muito!!!! Ela me disse para mim cuidar sempre muito bem dos netos dela,e que agradecia por tudo que ajudei....e que Deus iria me dar tudo em dobro. Quando chegarade madrugada,dormimos,as 8: 15 horas ,quando olhei para ela.. Deus a chamou,levei um choque!! Abracei,e ela deu o último suspiro no meu rosto. Chamei minhas filhas e família,para despedir ........ Obrigada meu grande amor da minha vida. Beijos mãezinha. Estudei novamente,e já comprei um apto. Suas palavras estão cravadas na minha alma . Katya takes such gentle care of her great-grandmother. My father and all of us cared for my mother, at home, until she passed 7 years ago at the age of 93. My father now lives in an apartment in a senior residency, but is very self-sufficient, and turning 96 next month! My sister and I help him out when he needs it, though he mostly prefers to do as much as he can on his own. My MIL is sadly in a Memory Care unit as she began to wander and has Dementia. My heart breaks for her and the lack of quality care she gets. I wish I could bring her home and care for her, but she is already in the last stage and needs the care and the safety of a special environment so she doesn't get harmed. This video warms my heart.

More people in America have become interested in the "Homesteading" lifestyle like this...being more self reliant and outside of the bustle of city life. Some blend the two to a degree. I watch your videos with my mother, who is also 90 years old. We laugh because the blood pressure cuff is identical to the one she uses. You are such a blessing thank you. She grew up in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada. Your posts reminder so much of when she grew up with her grandmother in the house, a coal stove, cow, and chickens.

I really enjoyed watching this wonderful video. Katya and her great-grandmother live a very simple and peaceful life. Katya is a very caring and loving great-granddaughter who takes great care of her great-grandmother. Being a physician makes Katya a perfect caregiver for her great-grandmother. Her great-grandmother looks great at her age. She seems so sweet and calm. I love the fact she is still capable of crochetting beautiful things at her age. I enjoyed watching Katya's daily activities. I also love Katya and her great-grandmother's cozy house which is nicely and simply decorated with traditional Ukrainian items. In addition, I really enjoyed listening to Katya's great-grandmother singing a beautiful Ukrainian traditional song with a lovely and memorable melody. Her voice is still nice and strong in spite of her old age.
