LIS2THEORIES My only theory... Mini theory? Is that in Captain Spirit when he's revealed to actually have powers at the end, it seems oddly similar to Daniel's power, making me think that maybe Daniel actually caught Captain Spirit when he falls out of the treehouse, and the protagonist of Captain Spirit doesn't really have powers. On another note, I feel this kind of confirms that Rachel really did have powers in Before The Storm, not just fancy effects and random wind when she's screaming in the forest.

LIS2THEORIES: 1) The homeless woman from LiS season 1 will appear at some point down the line if you saved her from the tornado or if the tornado never happened to begin with. 2) Their mother (named Karen as I recall) was the person who accidentally killed Chris's mom from Captain Spirit. Running from a vehicular manslaughter charge would be a reason for suddenly disappearing. And they never caught whoever it was who killed Chris's mother. Either way feel like they are being super vague with her so far, but she's clearly not dead so I feel like she will be met or what happened with her with be explored. We talked about this some on the Discord so would love to hear what you think! 3) Two Whales Diner in season 1. Three Seals Hotel in season 2. Four Dolphins Coffee Shop in Season 3. LIS2THEORIES The main villain's going to be a Prescott; Brody says he's from a rich, immoral family and seems familiar with the area around Arcadia Bay. The Prescotts are from that place, rich and not very nice (as we know from the first two games). There's a comic in Captain Spirit where Hawt Dawg Man is picked up in the rain by Mustard, as Brody does for Daniel and Sean. They then run into "Big Mustard", who Mustard says is "like me". Before episode 1 came out, everyone assumed Mustard was representing whoever had powers, but my theory is that Mustard represents Brody, and Big Mustard is one of his less pleasant relatives. A rich white antagonist would fit the theme, too.

Nice! I would add to that. Along with your mustard connection, I see Brody like "Impendent Power Bear" (impendent; near at hand) = "contact me on my blog, I'm always online when I'm not on the road". For those fearing he might be a bad dude / too good to be true, this is how I see it; in a heroes journey there's often a mentor and guide that calibrates your moral compass and gives you something to start out with. Brody is a passionate activist and has made a name for himself in his "...network" (which I would guess is group organizing protests and movements), probably even has a leading role in it. So maybe in worst case scenario, his past life combined with future psychological triggers (or even people from hist past challenging him) can override his better judgement if confronted with it. Maybe he at times goes in for questionable approaches in desperate times such as petty crimes, stealing and "selling shit on eBay" when he can't support himself on his writing which seems to be the most important thing. I also came to think of Cody Pomeray from Kerouac's writings when I heard Brody Holloway, a character that fits in this case. A radical, modern beatnik, on the road. Also, yes, I am personally pretty certain that he is either a) Prescott b) that he is designed to make you think of that possibility. He's a very strong headed guy but detest violence; if you talk about beating up Stamper he's like "whoa kid, maybe he deserved it but don't do it and don't talk about it". But that he could dive in if needed, having his backstory in mind, which is not mellow. He is used to conflict and knows how to act in order to survive and clearly has skeletons in his closet, although he is upfront about it. He comes across as a guy that has made progress in dealing with his past and wants to help others in their current struggles. Maybe in a future episode we make a choice how to feel about him, a moral dilemma based on info or a pressing scenario. Making him a bad guy I think is too easy, you should have to really think about it, what makes a person bad and where do you choose to draw the line. I like the theory that we'll face a "evil" Prescott (or whateverthefuck) along with Brody but I can't imagine how that would be structured.. maybe he's actively undermining their business and reputation and they want him gone? Shooting in the dark. But that red scarf will come in handy.
@Hedvigu6 жыл бұрын
You know what, I'll change my theory. Went back to the first chapter and looked around the stuff surrounding Daniel, he's so connected to Power Bear and I missed that. Power b themed stuff, named his room "Bear's lair". Nevertheless the hawt dawg/mustard man theme is interesting. I went back to the cartoon on the motel TV which showed them in a city, walking along the sidewalk, talking, when suddenly they spot the evil "bun-man" riding his bun-car. He turns his head and spots them, so now he's like "you are roasted and I'm gonna put you in my buns". So they run into an alleyway while he's stuck in traffic and they seem to have escaped, for now. Quite the bun-ty hunter. But what I'm reminded of is that mustard man is like the little guy, always being the first one to freak out. I'm starting to wonder. Maybe it's not as foreshadowing as I want it to be, damn. But it's fun to think about, that's what matters, it's all so perfectly mapped out to us. Like the D&D game in BtS.

LIS2THEORIES--I think this is not the first time Daniel manifested his powers. I thought it was very odd that Sean didn't really respond to the cyclone of stuff around Daniel when he learned the truth, and he seemed to know how to calm the powers. I wonder if that's because he's seen them before when Daniel was little. Maybe Daniel, when he was a toddler, had one of these telekinetic fits when their mother left, and the father made Sean promise never to tell him. I also think when they encounter Chris that he'll become an ally of sorts. I mean, they introduce a lot about Chris's story in "The Adventures of Captain Spirit"; it wouldn't be fair to leave those questions unanswered if Sean and Daniel are just ships passing in the night.
@homelessmexican4106 жыл бұрын
Not bad...but kinda has some flaws. Him not responding to the cyclone (which I'm assuming you mean right before you choose whether to promise to tell the truth or try to) and him "knowing how to stop it" could just both be him assuming his brother was the reason for it and that it was emotionally tied to him. Especially after seeing in multiple other times a disaster of some sort being left behind due to Daniel being in some sort of confrontation.
@precious_muse6 жыл бұрын
I think it's more than that, though. I saw a reaction video to this part that showed some of the other choices. If you really make Daniel mad, when Sean comes forward for a hug, Daniel shouts, "Don't touch me!" In most situations, such a request would be honored, but Sean still breaks through and presses Daniel's head to his chest. I could be wrong, but the only explanation I have for that is Sean knows that not hugging Daniel would only make the cyclone worse and the hug was the only way to make it stop.
@homelessmexican4106 жыл бұрын
@@precious_muse It could be, but again he could just be assuming that his powers are tied to his emotions and that calming him down could stop the cyclone
@heyitsmira176 жыл бұрын
If you look at Sean's notes, he mentions the effects of the powers after they leave the store, and he doesn't seem aware that it's his brother doing that. By the time they're on the hotel room, after everything he saw, he already realized that it's Daniel, and the hug is a normal way to calm kids down, specially when they're grieving and not being able to deal with it. I really don't think Sean and Daniel were clearly aware of Dan's powers until the hotel room mess. Only after that, on the bus, he asks if he's not a monster. So I think Sean found it out, yet had other concerns to deal with him than being freaked out by his brother's powers.
@precious_muse6 жыл бұрын
Fair point. I don't read the notes. Really, I just watch Let's Plays, and I don't have time to sit through 2 hrs, so when they're going through text messages or looking at stuff around the room, I just fast forward.

LIS2THEORIES (half theory half my own headcanon) I think the superpowers in the series are given to people by the spirit of a deceased person (daniels must come from his dad) but they also must be for some kind of purpose we arent sure of yet (e.g I think Rachel gave Max her time powers because she knew chloe was about to die and wanted Max to save Chloes "spirit" in some sense of the word) But in the same way i think the powers come with some kind "bet" the deceased person makes (like an ancient greek parable, bet with the gods kind of thing) where you get a time limit (you have a week to use time powers or the town gets destroyed) which makes me think theres gonna be a limit for Daniels powers (get to mexico or whatevs in this amount of time or else something totally devastating happens)

She could even have ambiguous dialog that vaguely refers to Chloe without giving away if Chloe is alive or not. Brody = angel. Flawless. The only part I found unbelievable was the fact that a 17-year-old with a mobile phone was apparently untraceable for days by the police, but I just chalked it off as something you have to get past for story reasons (like Chloe not being caught in BTS after breaking into the DA's office, leaving fingerprints everywhere, and stealing and burning evidence). As for theories, the only thing I think at the moment is that there won't be a final choice like LIS1 and BTS, your actions throughout the game will make that choice for you.

"What did she steal?" "Oh, just the blackmail material I had on a local drug dealer I hired to deal with my daughter's birth mother so I could preserve my family image."
@dustinbenzel87046 жыл бұрын
Well one he did have a charger, and if we are talking about a completely brand new fully charged battery, if you barely use your phone it will last 3 days. I know this because I remember the early days with my phone, fresh battery, I don't have a life, barely used my phone, lasted a very long time. Now, I can't spend 10-40% just playing a battery wasting game on it in like a few minutes, thus I need to keep it charged quite a bit. And even then when I don't use it at all, I could probably get a a day at least out of it (a full 24 hours). So it is feasible, I just don't know how Sean used it vs how much battery he had vs if he ever charged the battery at any point.
@gremlin43046 жыл бұрын
You can also just turn your phone off. The battery will drain very slowly - it would take 3-4 weeks to fully empty if you leave it in, but you can just take it out and keep it usable for years. It's not sorcery.

I just have to point out that while it is 'unrealistic' for the boys to evade the authorities for so long in the game, it's also 'unrealistic' that a 15 and 9 or 10 year old to be considered suspects in some kind of above ground explosion that merely pushed stuff around, with the father dead from the cops gun. If this happened IRL they would be considered witnesses and missing children, even if the neighbours had said "It was the younger kid! He exploded with some kinda energy or something... why are you sedating me? I ain't crazy!" The 15 year old might be considered a suspect in the death / severe injury of the other teen, if anybody had actually seen them fight and watched the other kid go down and stop moving.
@irrelevoice6 жыл бұрын
I feel that he thought they had to run because they're mexican, muricans be racist and stuff. The game pretty much punches you in the face with its agenda.
@RothLepard6 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. I didn't realize in the US that 9 year olds, of whatever ethnic background, became immediate suspects in explosions that had lots of impact evidence but left behind no residue of chemicals. ;)
@AwkwardFellow6 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of it has to do with fear, and Sean not knowing how to deal with the situation. All he knew was 1. Going to be sent to juvi for potentially killing/life alteringly harming another kid and 2, Daniel is going to be sent into foster care because of it. He in no way knew what the explosion was about just that 3 people might be dead, and he might get blamed for all of it. It probably wasn’t smart to run but realistically that whole situation would be confusing enough that some kids would run away/go into hiding.

I feel like Brody plays that way and is so encouraging because he might be angling a story. His immediate business is seeing his mum, but will come back to check on the boys, and not necessarily steer them on the right path, but the one that might make for a better journalistic piece. So for instance, maybe there's a chance for them to settle down with new identities but advice from Brody is like, "nah you're gonna be found out, leave these nice people and get back on the road" which isn'rlt totally bad advice but his intentions would be more so because he doesn't want the story to end there.

@@kaytron9812 You're completely correct. So, everyone talking about how this scene from LiS 2 is likely because of the current "political climate" or "it's on the news all the time" is a bit mislead on the actual situation. Theory for LiS 3: your character is the one shot and looks to have died. Their spirit can't move forward and can effect things around them (move objects, mess with animals and people, and walk through walls). While trying to figure out how to move on, they see their friends and classmates deal with grief (maybe someone uses a Ouiji board we could mess with). They try to solve their case and try to get revenge. Eventually, they visit their family and learn that your character isn't dead, but in a coma. However, there is a doctor pressuring their family to let your character pass and donate their heart to another patient. In a twist it turns out the doctor is being payed to pressure them by the other patient's family and the man who shot you was part of the conspiracy because the other patient(who's condition was the result of drugs and treats the hospital staff poorly) has been given less than a month left without the surgery. So, you have to expose the doctor and after ward another patient(a child) comes in and needs an organ ASAP, so the final choice is either wake up and live or die and give this child a chance. If you live, you have to live with the guilt as you watch a funeral procession and vow to be a better person if only to justify your decision to stay. If you die, you go to your own funeral where the child and their family visits and thank your parents, and you are allowed to move on possibly seeing a dead loved one greet you.

I have trouble imagining a real person who is so racist he'd attack and kidnap children, even if he thinks they're involved in an officer's death. It also bugged me from a gameplay standpoint that I chose both not to steal and to discuss with the guy, but Sean seemed intent on not trying to prove his innocence and I got the same outcome as if I made any other choices. One extra thing, the old lady didn't seem suspicious to me. She just seemed like a friendly store owner in a rural area, possibly because I washed up before going in the store.
