The first Life is Strange & LIS: Before The Storm are some of the most important games ever to me. But after Life is Strange 2 being kinda' terrible in my opinion, I wasn't hyped or expected much from Life is Strange: True Colors. Now just because I called it disappointing doesn't mean that I don't like it or it isn't decent & if anything, it's definitely better than LiS 2. That just means that the game has some major issues which prevent it from reaching the potential it could have reached.
So this my Life is Strange 3 a.k.a. Life Is Strange: True Colors is a graphic adventure video game developed by Deck Nine and published by Square Enix's European subsidiary. It was released on 10 September 2021 for Microsoft Windows PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Stadia and will be released for the Nintendo Switch at a later date. The plot focuses on Alex Chen, a young woman who can experience the emotions of others, as she tries to solve the mystery behind her brother's (Gabe's) death.

I had the EXACT same reaction. But at least Tell Me Why had a bit more puzzles. I think it's the developers not wanting to do anything that might make people uncomfortable anymore. (after the backlash of LiS 2). So what happens is both of these next games are so concerned with pleasant communities, and everybody being so "nice" that it suffers from a lack of tension. Meanwhile Life is Strange 1 had people being b*tches and a-holes everywhere you looked, your powers were directly affecting the environment, and there was a ticking clock of doom, so it was constantly filled with tension. True Colors is so chill it wastes an entire chapter on live-action role play.

They feel like they only existed for the plot, it feels like Steph lives at the record and Ryan is a nomad of sorts 😂. Or perhaps he lives in the woods with those birds he loves so much.

I don't hate any of the LIS games, but this one came close. When Alex freaked out on Mack and I read her texts of similar bad situations, I thought wow, this is gonna be amazing if her power really impacts things this much. But for the rest of the game, that doesn't happen, and any further instance where she uses her powers doesn't affect her character development (or anyone else's) at all. And none of the choices end up mattering very much (don't even get me started on the weak endings). The LARP thing was completely unnecessary. I also hated how they tried to shoehorn her backstory in at the beginning of the final episode, because at that point, I couldn't bring myself to care and it took away from the main narrative. Then at the end, there's that whole monologue with Jed, which dragged on forever. Definitely the weakest Life Is Strange game, in my opinion.

life is strange 2 is amazing i cried a lot when i played it i still do it's so sad there a lot of people didn't give it a chance. Because the game has a lot of options and discuss a lot of issues also the idea you are the player and you do not have the power this time but your words or actions affect Daniel and he will copy it is good, especially if you have siblings and your relationship with them is good you can relate to that. What an inspiring and powerful game and you can tell that your choices really caused differences in the beginning and in the end The game I just love the whole series of Life is Strange Even true colors, Alex's power is different and her personality changes from episode 2 and you can tell as well that she is good person at every phase of her character differences

My biggest pet peeve with choice-based games are choices not mattering, and it's still a huge issue here. Mild spoilers, but the most egregious one is when something is presented where you can stop perusing the investigation, but no matter what you decide, Alex continues anyway! These "non-choices" happens a few times, and its infuriating to me. Why even bother putting the story in my hands if you're going to tell the story you want, anyway?

TC was predictable I thought, you knew it was gonna be someone *unexpected* in the end.. there was only about 5 realistic people who could be involved. While I do wish it were longer, I absolutely adore LIS:TC. The characters were the most endearing yet. I just wanted a few more chapters and romance options. LIS should take up the Mass Effect relationship scopes.

I loved Life is Strange 1 and 2, Before the Storm was only okay imo. And i just finished True Colors, and while i enjoyed it. It never reach the highs of the first 2 games for me at least. The story especially in the first game was so good. True Colors story was only okay imo.

I think the life is strange developers really need to understand what they are good at which is the micro stories the person to person moments. Their macro stories are usually my least favorite part of the the games i.e. LIS 1 the tornado/serial kill plot and true colors big corporation conspiracy so uninteresting that's why i think before the storm is so good because its a personal story instead of a big conspiracy theory.

my only complaint was the DLC for the game I liked it but is wasn't great I was hoping for a little more then what we got and I figured you would have mentioned the issues that the deluxe and Ultimate edition had as well that was some frustrating bull**** paying that kinda money and not getting everything that was offered in it until a day or for some players a few days to get it

Is it bad that I actually liked LARP?.. Because I’ve never done role playing before and I was just very excited to do it. It was not as grand as I thought, but still pretty enjoyable. I like how chill everything looks. The thing I didn’t like that much was when Alex confronts Jed That scene alone was too long and is it just me? Escaping the mine part was way too dark for me I couldn’t see anything. I tried to turn up the brightness but it was still way too dark. The path was not hard to follow, but it was just kinda annoying. But still, I liked more than LIS 2 I think TC had less problem when it comes to story than LIS 2 It just feels like they could’ve done something more at the end but they didn’t. Also am I the only one who noticed how similar the story outline is with LIS 1 and TC? And no, I’m not talking about Alex having superpower just like Max, because having powers is just a on going thing (along with always having political/environmental issues shoved into the game) with this IP, but the overall layout of story is just.. very similar. We have a man who’s emotions are very unstable (Mac) just like Nathan in LIS 1, We have to solve the mystery of a town just like in LIS 1, they had to discover how and why Rachel was missing, we have “twist villain” at the end who was actually a town hero and admired by many people just like in LIS 1, and lastly, They had this whole.. dream/subconscious sequence at the end of the game which is also very similar to LIS 1.

Seriously, can someone explain to me what's so great about BTS? I love the first game but BTS has a ridiculously rushed story. True colours has the opposite problem. Before the storm should have had five episodes to flesh things out more, while true colours drags on over five episodes and should have been shortened to three. Halfway through episode 4, I'd realised that basically nothing had actually happened yet in the story. Episode 3 is complete filler.

true color was really good i give LIS games a pass an a lot of things because i enjoy the games so much. The problems i had with true colors was the horrible typhon/mining conspiracy story that was beardly fleshed out. i wish the story was just about Gabes death instead of the mystery. also the game felt really small from the length to the settings and characters. playing LIS 1 and BTS the games felt longer even though BTS was only 3 chapters. their were so many different setting like the school, the dorms the court yard etc and so many more characters. true colors had this a little but they named the npc bench guy or phone guy i wish they fleshed out the characters more. in the end at the "town counsel meeting their are like 5 people?!?!? finally their are like only 5 setting the town apartment and bar. it just made the game feel so small. that being said despite all i said i really enjoyed the game and i was glad they went for a more positive over all feel unlike past games were they ended in tragedy I WILL DEFINITLY BUY THE NEXT GAME

This was honestly the worst and most boring eventless game I've ever played. I hated every minute of it and I hate the people that lied in reviews just to make me buy it. i think the reason lis: bts was probably the best out of the series is because it focused on character development. seeing chloe transform from a bitter teenage troublemaker to someone who wants to make the world a better place-ish. seeing chloe and what she went through hit home. instead of focusing on this huge plot, it focused on small plotlines that eventually merged into a single plot that actually made sense.
