Doing exams with your non dominant hand takes skill. One time, had to scan an entire abdomen with my left hand because there were too many machines and wires on the patients right side of the bed. It’s was my first time doing that and it felt as if I was learning how to scan all over again.

Wow proud of you for doing it with your left hand!!! You did your best!

What are your thoughts on the CCI registry for echocardiography vs the ARDMS? If a program isn’t accredited should I take the CCI or is it worth it to take the ARRT to be eligible to sit for the ARDMS?
@lolgeselle2 жыл бұрын
Hi Logan! CCI is great for echo, so I've heard. ARDMS is the more known one. I would look up the jobs in your area to see what they require on their applications. Majority will usually be okay with both CCI/ARDMS.

I’m taking pre reqs now. Idk which field I want to choose..vascular, OB/GYN, or cardiac. The program I hope to get into, you can choose only 2.
@lolgeselle3 жыл бұрын
Oo that's hard! Definitely look up each one and see what interests you most! I personally love vascular.

Hi do you have to go through radiology tech program to do cardiac ?
@lolgeselle8 ай бұрын
Hi! You can go through a sonography program make sure they have cardiac route there! CAAHEP.org can help you!

I don’t do good with being yelled at, is that something I should prepare for ? 😓😓😓
@lolgeselle3 жыл бұрын
you may get yelled at by doctors, patients etc.. it builds character and you become tougher in the field.. but it doesn’t happen often/ always.. depends where you work and the type of patients you get
@nadinewilkinson34473 жыл бұрын
Did I understand it right that when I am be a ob gyn general sonographyer and would like to do echo that I need enough hours in an internship for echo and that way I could sit for the ISP(I thought it was called)and both ?
@lolgeselle3 жыл бұрын
If you are going to be an ob/ general sonographer, you will need to take ultrasound physics in order to sit for SPI. There are different requirements for SPI depending on what school/program you go to. Then you would need to learn echo in the field and someone with the echo registry has to sign your clinical verification form in order for you to sit for echo boards.

im in school now now as a sonographer , but im not sure which field i should go for. i have two choices, either cardiac or vascular. which one is better??
@lolgeselle2 жыл бұрын
It depends! I love vascular because of what it entails. Cardiac is just the heart but a LOT of detail goes into it too. Definitely think about which one do you find more interesting and able to scan every day!
@Letsjustagreeee13 жыл бұрын
Hey do you need really steady hands to do sonography?
@lolgeselle3 жыл бұрын
You do have to hold the probe as still as you can sometimes applying pressure even. ☺️
