Congratulations on your pregnancy and getting out of the ICU. When I did my clinical rotation in ICU the staff was the exact same way it just seemed as they were desensitized to everything and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. And don’t over think it there’s nothing that could have prepared you for that unit I think you have to have a certain personality for it if not it will drain the life out of you. I’m sure you’re a great nurse and will continue to get better over time with experience.

I have two daughters, and they are honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Being a mother gives you something that nothing or no one can give you. I kinda hate to hear when people leave a nursing job so quickly. I always feel like you gotta give anything at least a year. That said, I don't like ICU. I found that nurses in ICU arent my type. The patients are just lying there in so much distress all these tubes running in and out. Emergency Department all the way! Congrats on the baby.
