I saw it as a young man. It changed everything in my life. I realize that greatness could be achieved with hard work. All of my achievements have been driven by this so man. I am so lucky to have received his gift.

That emotion, the wailing the guitar does to represent Stevie’s pain. Stunning! Thank you choosing this song. ❤Donna G

Broke a tooth..not exaggerating, he looked off stage , told a roadie, broke a tooth, then smiled said I'm al right. And finished. Broke a string and a tooth. passion. GOAT. RIP.

I was hoping you would get to this beautiful song Stevie Ray wrote for his friend and mentor Charlie Wirz who Stevie Ray met in 1976 at his friend's guitar shop called Charlie's Guitar Shop in Dallas Texas. The white guitar a stratocaster was made by Charlie and Stevie Ray's guitar tech Rene Martinez in 1983 Rene was able to go on stage hand Stevie a different guitar grab the guitar he was playing hook up the new guitar and be back behind the stage in less then 5 seconds. Charlie passed of a heart attack in 85, he gave Stevie that white guitar with a hula girl topless on the back and the heel plate said To Stevie Ray Vaughan More in 84. Stevie Ray wrote this song shortly after his death so he wrote and released "Life Without You in 1985. Rene Martinez said Stevie was breaking strings over and over again because Stevie played so hard so he had to come up with a new technique for Stevie's guitar and apparently even though he was breaking strings it wasn't as often. I tried to keep it short this time. Another great reaction thanks

Bless you buddy - you got everything about that performance. Never seen anything remotely like it. Charley Wirz built that white guitar for SRV back before he was famous. That's why he changed to it in the beginning. SRV named that guitar Charley in honor of his friend - and this song was written to memorialize him after his death.

Yes this beautiful white guitar is named Charley and was built from parts by Charley himself. He usually plays this song with "Charley" and I don't know why he started with the other one. But it was not staying in tune so he requested a switch and then had to make all those adjustments to bring it into the settings to achieve the "sustain" needed for later on.✌️💙

For me, my favorite and his best performance here on YT. Another instrumental worth seeing is "Riviera Paradise" from the 1989 Austin concert on Austin City Limits.

Hi Moe Feaux 👋✌️🎶💙. Riveria Paradise is my most favorite of all of Stevie's own work🎶🎸💯. It is simply exquisite🌹. I hope Alan will react to that one soon🎸🎶💯‼️

He played mixed strings actually, you can find it in his biography. He changed his guitar to one he called Charlie after his friend and guitar mechanic who this song was written about.

Hi Alan👋🎶🎸💙✌️. I am so glad you have gotten to a big fan favorite and a very emotional original by Stevie and that you enjoyed it very much as well. I had to chuckle though when you said at the end that it was hard to take your eyes off of him. Almost the whole video I was going open your eyes Alan! Open! While it is so tempting to close your eyes and just let him take you away in his magical carpet ride you can miss so much in just a few seconds. I just love watching his passionate commitment to lose himself in the music. For me that is half the magic of his artistry. This whole concert was 🔥‼️💯. Couldn't Stand the Weather, Aint Gone 'N' To Give Up On Love, among many others. I will second Moefeaux1442's recommendation for Riveria Paradise as performed at Austin City Limits 1989. It is an exquisite original that he created after his rehab and recovery and dedicates it to all those still suffering in any way. It is soothing balm for a weary soul and a warm embrace from the soul of this man🌟✨⭐️. BTW I was the first person to watch this when you posted it but I was recovering from hip replacement surgery and didn't have the energy to comment. However I gained energy from just watching my favorite reactor and my favorite artist, so thank you kind sir🎶❣️💯

Hi Harriet 😊 first of all , I hope your recovery keeps going well , sorry to hear about surgery ( never a good moment to experience) now 😳 I only realised that I do need to prise open my eyes 😂 but it’s hard when I’m the moment ! I’m the same at concerts , I’m always going to go back to SRV , and the other greats of that genre and era and those who preceded him , but selfishly I keep him on hold as thiers just that moment when I know I want to have your words “ magical carpet ride “ a little selfish perhaps but then music is often a paradoxical thing “ loved by many at one time but we listen almost alone in our thoughts 💭.. oh and I hear both you am Moe , Rivera ! This week I’m taking a week to tend to other matters and I’m exploring the psychology of some of my favourite movies and books .. and if I can get what I think is the right presentation then I’m adding that to the channel , music will be 98% with little additions of movies and possibly books .. maybe it won’t go down well , but I can say it won’t be watching and reacting ( I don’t enjoy that on KZbin via movies ) but hey 😊 thank you Harriet I really am grateful 😎

Well I am grateful for you as well my friend✌️💙. And yes my recovery has been remarkably smooth and awesome thank you. I know you will always circle back to our Stevie and I know what you mean about needing a carpet ride - for me that's everyday🥰🎶💙🎸😉 If you choose Riveria Paradise from Austin City Limits 1989 to be your next experience then it will be worth the wait for both of us💯 Be well🌻🌺🌻

Thanks again for taking me up on this suggestion I posed way back when after you reacted to my previous suggestion of "Love, Hate, Love" by Alice in Chains. As always, definitely worth the wait. I see you've reacted to a few songs off of Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" but not sure if you're familiar with "My God" from that album, my favorite from it?

Hi Alan , i heard something fun last week , dont know where but they where talking on the radio or on tv cant remember which on a new kind of music game/show they where thinking of , With a song and counter /awnser song , it could be the title or in the lyrics. One example they gave was. Having a song Like Stevie Wonder I Just Called To Say I Love You and the response lyrics or song could be Lionel Richie - Hello ( hello is it me you are looking for ) Or the song Frankie goes to holy woods : relax , and the response could be Right said fred : dont talk just kiss. quite a fun idea i think as your brain will look up matches . between the songs.
