Didn't Dixie nurse one of the baby goats last winter when she had her littler of pups outside. I think I remember 1 kid always sleeping in the puppy pile and trying to nurse with them. Funny how they will take care of each others young, cross species. I know cats will do that as well - nurse puppies, etc. Stay warm this next week during that freezing polar vortex weather!!! No worries. I could watch newborn kid videos all day!!! They bring so much joy!

Digest the colostrum. The does milk comes in at three days, so I stop feeding colostrum after 3 days, but I start mixing a little milk with the colostrum so there’s not an abrupt change. Those babies are doing well.

What do you think of the name "Deputy", which goes well with the name "Justice"? I think it honors Brandon, which is why I love the name so much. Oh Steph, those bottle fed babies are so very precious! I could almost sense how awesome you felt feeding them, which gave me such a lift! All of the kids are so adorable! I love seeing them. I think that I would just sit in my wheelchair in their pen and watch them all for as long as my body would let me!. I have never seen snow melt so quickly before! I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Look how fast your 10.5 inches of snow is leaving you. Even though you had more than 8 inches more than me, mine will probably stay until April, hope not, but it has been known to be totally gone about the 15th of MAY! all the new kids are so pretty. I really hope all of them are getting their Mama's milk often and a lot of her milk. They all seem to grow so fast.

I don't know what sort of plastic 3 litre milk bottles you have in the states but if they are like ours ( with a handle ) in Australia I used to cut them in half and have the handle part left on the half we use as a scoop , I was looking at the red little bucket you use to feed the chickens and thought i'd mention this as you can make lots of them as you finish a carton of 3 litre milk and have one in each bag of feed and one to throw the feed out to the birds and the best part they cost nothing !! woohoo ( your welcome ) LOL

I think I would choose mud over ice… I got 1/2 “ ice then 4” of snow on top of that. The temperature hasn’t been warm enough to melt the snow very much. When it does melt the temperature at night turns it into ice. 😕 Thankful the roads are clear though 👏🏻👏🏻🙂
