Thank you very much for this tutorial video. I feel this is my biggest issue right now, because I get to tense when I bowl. Hopefully this will help when I go and practice next.

I find that when I forget to use the top of my thumb, I squeeze the ball too long and pull it across my body. I started throwing it the way you suggested about 2 years ago and what a big difference it has made. Great video

I tape my thumb tight enough (fairly tight ) so I don't have to release the ball. the ball comes off the same point if I hold it the same. I also hold the thumb pad flat against the thumb hole for consistency which makes the finger pads raise off the inserts (if it could if the hole was not tight enuf) then when the thumb releases, the fingers get the entire weight of the ball for an instant . it's like it snaps off my hand w/o trying to do that. I just started doing this properly has recently as a couple months ago . since then, I've had two 299s, a 300, a 280 (#44), and a lot of 260s. it really works as long as my thumb fit is tight enough . The only thing you have to watch for is your thumb changing throughout the course of the bowling session and be ready to tighten or loosen it up as needed. I want to add that knowing how to tape your thumb hole properly is really an art. You have to feel if your thumb is releasing too fast on one side or the other and tape the side that's releasing too quick or too slow by taking tape out for putting tape in to get the right amount of resistance. Resistance is what we're talking about here because with the right amount of resistance the ball will come off your thumb at the same point every time!

Love the Video besides not figuring out how to make a 10 pin consistently 4 weeks into league already missed 9, I have always squeezed the ball hard. It's something I've been trying to correct especially going into this years league. Every Video and Tip helps.

As you set up where do you feeel the weight of the ball. My release because a lot cleaner when I started with the weight of the ball on the base of my fingers or palm but I don't know if that's consistent with this release

I just got jopo interchangeable thumbs. I'll have to test this Monday. They took the reverse+left pitch out of my thumb and made them 0/0 though. Not sure what that's about.

I don't understand something. Why would you want the fingers to touch the back of the hole with the nails? I went with reverse finger pitch and a shorter span so the pads of my fingers were flat on the grips with less effort. That also puts less stress on my hand and joints of my fingers. Hopefully it will allow me to have a more relaxed hand at release.
