Kevin Congratulations ! on finding the piece of Gold . Did any one else in the group find any Gold ? How long are ya's staying in Alaska for ? If you go to Juneau go on a whale watch in a jet powered boat . The boat doesn't have any propellers that will hurt the sea life then in the afternoon tly on a helicopter & get out and walk around on a glacier . I did get to do it because the bad morning fog never lifter so the excursion was canceled I was quite disappointed to say the least . I had heard that it's something that you will never forget for the rest of your life . In Ketchican I flew on a sea plane through the Misty Fjords from the harbor dock . During the flight the pilot landed the sea plane in a mountain top lake & he got out & stood on one of the pontoons & ate his lunch . I got out also & took a lot of pictures . Taking off from the I was stting up front in the right seat & the plane got real close to the end of the lake & the plane finally lifted high enough to take off & clear the tree tops . I caught it all on my SONY 8MM camcorder that I had with me at the time . It bit the dust decades ago hitting the lense in my hotel room floor in Barcelona before going down to breakfast. It was the day the group was to transfer to the cruise ship to take a 10 day Trans Atlantic cruise to Miami . I was quite upset by it to say the least . Luckily I had a lot of film with me . I never got it repaired because I was told that it might not ever work or work correctly again so I didn't want to waste my money .

Kevin, Sarah, and Caroline you are a very lucky family. I have followed you on this journey from episode 1 and it is inspirational to see you grow as a family and to see through your eyes the wonders of our North American continent. This episode was particularly poignant watching Caroline earn her Junior Ranger badge, watching Kevin find gold, and listening to the commentary during the show of the Aurora Borealis. The excitement in Kevin’s voice walking back to camp was great and clearly genuine. Keep up the great work. I can’t wait to see what is next.

I can't than you enough for your series of videos. I've travelled up north twice from the Ohio valley in my TJ Wrangler 2001 and 2002. The first time I ran out if time when I reached Whitehorse. The second I made it to Fairbanks, Denali, Seward, and Valdez. As you see by the city names I didn't much leave the road network. I've always wanted to return with more time to explore. Your videos have allowed me to rekindle my love for the north country and just setting off to see what I could see. Hopefully travel restrictions will be lifted so I can head north late this summer. If not, I can just enjoy more of these videos. Thanks again.

Just lying around the house, all day as the pollen has done its thing to me. Then, I thought I heard Kevin say "Come on...get in the bus! " I open my computer and there was video from y'all. Sure glad I went along for the ride. Oh, and what a ride it was! Tell Caroline that she is the BEST Junior Ranger I ever saw.....also the only one I ever saw. I've had days that end with a cherry on top. You had a day that ended with GOLD on top. Oh, those colors. This has so touched my heart. Stay safe. To travel is to live!

I have to say, the idea of scheduled tours on buses isn't a bad idea with the issues we're seeing these days. Even a permit for National Forest use isn't a bad idea where you have to watch a training video on taking care of the forest before entering. Until then, we are doing our best to lead by example and clean up behind the rest.

The first time I saw Denali was as I was arriving in Talkeetna. I told my friend the top of that cloud looks like a mountain. He laughed and said it looks exactly like the top of Denali. He worked for a well know air transport company that deals with climbers and adventurers of all types. He took me up to the main climbers camp a couple of times to drop off food, gear, and climbers. Out of respect for the folks who worked hard and payed a ton to be there, I never took any photos. No regrets.
