The energy you put into the system by rotating the pulley by hand is stored in the springs as potential energy. The springs can only release the energy that was initially put into the system. There is no mechanism here that would continuously increase energy over time, as that would violate the conservation of energy principle. In any real system, there are always forces like friction and air resistance that would dissipate some of the stored energy as heat. This means that even if the system is set into motion, it will eventually come to a stop unless more energy is added.

The system described and shown in the video claims to run indefinitely and provide free energy without any fuel input. This concept is essentially proposing a perpetual motion machine, which is not possible according to the laws of physics. Here’s why: Laws of Thermodynamics 1. First Law of Thermodynamics (Conservation of Energy): - Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another. In the described system, even if the initial energy input is manual (by hand), it would eventually be converted into other forms of energy (like heat due to friction) and dissipate over time. No system can sustain energy without an ongoing input because it would violate this principle. 2. Second Law of Thermodynamics (Entropy): - Entropy, or the measure of disorder in a system, always increases in a closed system. This means that energy transformations are never 100% efficient; some energy is always lost as waste heat. Over time, this loss leads to the system stopping. The idea of a machine running indefinitely without energy input contradicts this law because it assumes no energy loss. Practical Considerations 1. Friction and Wear: - All mechanical systems experience friction between moving parts, which leads to energy loss as heat. Additionally, components wear down over time, requiring maintenance or replacement. 2. Air Resistance: - Any moving parts interacting with air will face air resistance, another source of energy loss. Misconceptions about Perpetual Motion - Perpetual motion machines have been a subject of fascination for centuries, but no one has ever successfully built one that works. Claims of perpetual motion are often based on misunderstandings or intentional deceptions. Real-World Physics - Even if the initial demonstration appears convincing, careful examination will reveal that energy losses will eventually cause the system to stop. The initial energy input will be dissipated through various forms of resistance and inefficiencies. Conclusion While the idea of a machine that provides free, infinite energy is appealing, it is fundamentally impossible according to the well-established laws of thermodynamics. Any system that claims to achieve this would ultimately fail due to unavoidable energy losses and inefficiencies.

No, these machines actually will speed up assuming the weight of your flywheel is not so heavy that it stalls the springs. Unfortunately these machines have very little torque, especially when torque/weight/size are all considered together. While this size of machine could possibly power a very low output generator under very low load conditions for a while they will still begin loosing speed as soon as a load is applied because they are not receiving any more energy being put in to compensate for the additional load. Regardless, even without any additional load they will slow down and eventually stop simply due to fatigue within the springs, friction in mating surfaces, etc...

Yes, I am aware of the persistence of vision that makes stuff blurry and the stroboscopic effect that makes the flywheel to seemingly change direction at one moment. But it is easy to have the crank looking like spinning is the same direction while the video is played backward by... having it turn in the opposite direction while shooting. How I'm sure it is played backward? Because there is a cut in the video at 12 seconds exactly and the only reason for having such a cut in the video while trying to make it look that there is no cut is to hide something. It is exactly how I would fake that kind of experience. And also because I am a research engineer in mechanical and electromechanical design, so yeah I think I have some idea of what I am talking about... Still believing some random youtubers instead of thousands of years of mechanical development? Build that setup and see for yourself, but that would mean accepting to question your beliefs.

The reason why this can't work is that the springs would speed up the wheel while they are pulling the crank on the down stroke, but then the wheel slows down again on the up stroke by the equal amount plus losses when it has to stretch the springs again. Overall it's a net loss and everything slows down. It's even an easy experiment everyone could try to recreate and they will see that it won't speed up ever. For this video there's either a hidden engine somewhere or there's reversed footage after the cut.

@@tmblackwell4462 the flywheel adds inertia, so it's harder to speed up or slow down. It will run longer since the springs won't stop it immediately, but overall the run time will be about same as with a flywheel alone, no springs. Propably still lower.

I'm going to get technical about how the physics would really work even though no one asked me to. The disk would carry the majority of the monentum in the system to keep it moving longer. The two sets of springs would have equal and opposite tension forces applied on their respective cranks. Or even if the forces weren't quite equal (they wouldn't be in reality, just like how there's no truley perfect circles), then each set of springs will apply equal and opposite forces during their expansion then contraction (these forces would be constanly changing as the spring is lengthened and shortened). Wind resistance is negligible, but friction, especially on the axle, would be unavoidable. The springs would increase the friction by adding a net downward force on the axel as well. That would be more complicated to calculate due the springs being continuously expanded and contracted. Long story short, it might spin for a bit, but not forever. Even if it spun forever, the net energy would be 0 because it wouldn't be able to do work (the physics definition of work).
@blakey90893 ай бұрын
Also, it probably wouldn't run for long at all once you put a belt on the other side to power or drive something, the friction to drive a belt or chain would render it pretty useless.

@@mikejonsson2529 It may continue to work with a tiny permanent magnet motor attached to generate maybe a hundred or two hundred watts an hour. Find best quality springs for longest lasting operation then put an hour counter on the device to price the cost Per kilowatt hour. Over time you have new bearings to buy, but by the lowest friction high quality. Quality pays in continued service longevity and lowest down time.
