You can drain and refill with what comes out, but alot of times from my experience is that the factory does not put enough in. It’s important to change that fluid by 30k so you can get to the correct level and extend the life of the transmission. My latest find was 1.25. Qts. short. Use factory fluid ONLY if your car is still under warranty.

'Lifetime' for a vehicle manufacturer is generally the extent of the new car warranty, not 200k miles. As an example, there was a time when Vauxhall used to offer a 'Lifetime' warranty but in the smallprint it had said they expect the Lifetime to be 10yrs/100k miles. BTW only ever use genuine fluid for the transmission not an equivalent.

Hi, i had bad experience with the same filter and rubber gasket because after installing the gasket and oil pan 1 month later start leaking so had to remove and put again silicon sealant.So i recommend you to put always silicon sealant as was made from the factory.By the way i used ravenol atf fz fluid which is only one to meet the mazda fz specs.I live in Europe and they recomend changing intervals of 60.000 80.000 kilometers not miles almost like other brands like wv and bmw.

Dear I have Mazda 6 manual transmission I changed transmission oil motul 75w90 , the gear became so good but when I left the car in cold weather out for few hours , it’s hard to change gear from one to two but after 5 minutes driving it becomes good What is the reason ??

Can you recommend anyone to diagnose and repair these auto boxes please? Heard a bang from mine and it the shifting became very bad. Managed to limp it home, but now need to get it looked at and don't trust the main dealers. Thanks

I would like to suggest you buy the machine to clean the inside of the automatic transmission. It basically runs clean oil and the old one comes out.

A flush could mess things up. It's better to replace the fluid lost then repeat the same process annually allowing the fluid to clean the transmission on its own.

Thanks. Can you post part numbers for the filter and gasket kit please. Also, what is the actual spec of the transmission oil? That dipstick looks very difficult to access. Can you show how you were able to obtain readings please?
