you can add gaskets to the port,holes. Go to home depot and buy a GE water filter o ring. It fits perfect and seals

You did a good job. If you freshwater fish in Florida, how do you keep those 12 foot alligators from crawling into the yak with you ? I worry about that here in southeastern N.C. all the time.
@FaithNFishing3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I never fresh water fished either kayak. Been strictly salt this far.

Love the outrigger design. I'm wondering what size of pvc you use? I'm trying to use 1 1/4 but it's too tight to get into the rod holders and I dont know if 1" would be secure enough
@FaithNFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I used 1 1/4" but they were VERY snug going in. If you were to use 1" you would have to pad it with Duct tape and that would be fine.
@TulsaDave32 жыл бұрын
@@FaithNFishing do you know how far down into the rod holder you went? They're about 9 inches deep but I dont know if that's possible. Also, it looks like you drove a screw into it to secure it?
@FaithNFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@TulsaDave3 went down about 4 inches or so. Screw was probably overkill but I wanted it to stay put.

How did you fit the PVC in the rod holders and what size did you use
@FaithNFishing2 жыл бұрын
I used 1 1/4 PVC. It was a tight squeeze but you can use a little bit of wd-40 or even pam spray to slick it up a bit. Twist and push. Did them individually and built in place originally. After that, they put in with a little force. I never removed the base build, just took the end pieces off for transport. Went in about 4" and put a screw through it for additional security.

Great video brother! Just bought one and have contemplated outriggers. I really like your design. Can you elaborate on outrigger design? Did you heat to create bends on top or are they angled pieces. Tough to make out
@FaithNFishing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! I did not use any heat for this. I just made the middle section a bit longer and the force between was enough to cause that slight bend. I can disassemble it and grab all of the specs for you, if you'd like. Would be my pleasure!

Is your crate sitting directly on the rear hatch or did you add something under it?
@FaithNFishing2 жыл бұрын
Mine is an older model with flush hatches. They didn't bump out like the new ones. I didn't need anything to raise it.

poor mans kayak??? $450.00 is poor? I bought a cheaper kayak cause I didnt want to invest $1500+ on a new sport that I might not even like.. ok I must be poor then but at least Im happy with it
@FaithNFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yea, not a big fan of the poor man reference, which is why I mention budget kayak as my preference. This one served me well for 5 years before I upgraded, knowing that I loved the sport! Most important thing about a kayak is being comfortable with it and it suiting your particular needs. Tight lines!
