Hey you should keep your heart leaf fern in a dish with some water in the bottom. Maybe on your kitchen window sill or something, were you see it everyday and water is readily available

I believe that terra cotta planter at the end with the blue rim is part of a self-watering planter system. It was the inner pot and the outer pot would have held a water reservoir. Used commonly with African violets. You don't have to use it that way, but that's what it was originally. Also, if you have trouble with the heart fern keeping it consistently damp, check into wicking pots. That's what I use for all my ferns. I just add a wick to the pot, then find a glass vessel for the pot to sit inside where it's sort of suspended above the water and only the wick touches the water. Give it a shot this time!

I agree. My african violet planters are like that but I do wicks alot

Hi Ashley, for your heart leaf fern, a good way to keep it alive it’s to put it in a terrarium. I have one for about a year, in a closed jar and i never water it since i have put it in their. It’s not closed from bright light, and it’s going well…thanks again for your videos! 🌼🌺🌸💚

I love these long videos with lots of goodies to look at! That unglazed planter with the light blue rim is the insert part of an African Violet planter, but totally would make a good cover pot or you could even do a makeshift self watering set up. Thanks for showing us around :)

Great plant shop! You are easily amused by anything with a face at the thrift store lol. I’m on heart fern 2. First one came with a root binding wrapper. This one came with a caterpillar that ate a lot of it. It’s in a glass jar for humidity. But it’s still turning yellow.

I always love seeing your Goodwill finds! You have so many goodwills in your area. The cute clay pot with the blue rim is likely from a ceramic self-watering planter. I've seen similar ones which have an unglazed inner portion, like the one you got, which will sit inside an outer glazed portion. The unglazed pot wicks moisture from a water reservoir. :) Cool find!

Ashley, I made a batch of mosquito bits and hot water, let it sit a day to cool, watered my Heart fern and it died. The only one affected by the gnat fly concoction which works and I love love love. Just fyi maybe that’s what kills them. I will replace too🤣.

I love that nursery for labeling and pricing everything so well. I expect that every plant store will label and price each plant, at a minimum, as it's literally the most important information a shopper wants to know. Super frustrating to have to guess the cultivar or glean the price from thin air.

I enjoy your lovely, soothing voice and your aesthetic. Perhaps editing this 45 minute video into two 23 minute videos for those of us who don't have the time/attention span ;^) for 45 minutes content. Interspersing plant views with half the thrifting and THAT haul for each segment, maybe? Your thrift "grazing" is so fun. Your observations are delightful. I fell in love with the sweet pink candle holder glass and I don't usually LIKE pink. I would have chosen every one of your planter finds. You are beautiful. Grandma hugs on you.

Hi Ashley, I've noticed in all your videos calling a plant pot a Planter and then saying nursery pot. A planter is the person that plants a plant in a pot. Farm, farmer. A pot regardless the material it is made of is not planting anything, it is just a pot. So, what's your story with planter and nursery pots? Just curious. 🤭🙄😋
