This is a very timely video as I just rescued a friend's money tree from root rot! They had it in a self-watering pot that was keeping the soil super moist. And the pot was like 4x too big! Repotted it into a smaller pot with a super chunky mix. I hope it now can thrive for them!

I am thrilled to say how thankful I am to have found your youtube channel!! Finally someone who can communicate in a direct manner without boring me to tears. You have such a kind and calm demeanor and it seems to be authentic. You also are nice looking and even though looks should not matter, they do. Most importantly I find your way of explaining things easy to follow. Your doing a fantastic job, keep it up!

I see a bunch of people saying to water somewhat frequently but in my experience these plants have thrived the most when I was letting the soil dry out completely, I water like once a month and they seem to love that, I also mist the leaves throughout the day

I have 2 potted money trees. One that's single, & one that is braided. Both are outside, except for really cold temps, but they spend the majority in full sun. Just thought I'd share that🙏😊

Thank you for this video, great information as I'm finding my money tree not so "easy" to care for lol. What does it mean if the leaves are getting see through?

Great video. You answered many questions for me. Except pruning and braiding. I need to know more about that.

Also where to keep the pots immediately after repotting? Directly under grow light or should be kept somewhere in shade ?

I want to take a cutting since my money tree is getting to the ceiling . After cutting the stem on an angle, do i need to sit it in wster to create roots, or directly in the soil, 2 nodes down. I also saw someone add honey to the base of the cutting. Is that necessary?

I have that same tree maybe same distributor like exactly the same pot and nursery pot stuck in the white pot, I will probably repot with some better draining soil mix thanks a ton I haven’t seen any fungus nats 🙏🏽
@lokeshloks84454 ай бұрын
So you used only the substrate from the cover or did you add any potting mix along with the substrate as you mentioned initially in the video ?

Definitely do take the tape off when you get these! I’ve lost branches before I realized it was taped. It caused root rot, I was so sad

They also often have rubber bands tied up in the roots when you buy them

Thanks for this. We got a money plant and it is struggling. I'm pretty sure we have been doing ALL the wrong things for it (we are new to house plants). I'm hoping I can nurse it back to health. We were drastically underwatering it, it was getting a mixture of very low light to direct light too. Lol ouch. I moved it and am watching our watering. If it starts to bounce back I'll repot it (it's in too bad shape to stress it out by repotting now I think).

Fun and informative Money Tree video, Ashley! Many thanks. For several years I’ve been placing my Money Tree outside from mid Spring until early Fall, weather permitting, here in Charlotte and he loves it. 🥰. As long as he gets the basics he’s a happy camper. Very enjoyable video to watch, as always. You’re spoiling us! 👌🪴🥰

Can you please tell me why mine has Yellowing leaves and what to do to Stop this
@brantleytypes90282 ай бұрын
Low humidity, overwatering, temperature, too much light, and sometimes the yellowing is normal in nature like aging. You can cut off the yellow leaves so new ones can grow.

I feel like the clear pots could be a problem. Roots don't like light. When the roots come in contact with the outside lights when they hit the edge of a clear pot they will damp off/die.
@candyyyybabeeee2 ай бұрын
If you have the clear pot in a decorative pot it shouldn’t be an issue :)

I live in so florida, mine is outside in full sun, 100 degrees and humidity. It is growing like crazy with a strong trunk. The one I have in the shade on the porch is not growing as fast and it's very fragile.

The rubber band and the tape will slowly kill your money tree. It takes years for the tape to breakdown if it breaks down at all.
