This is *much* better than the video I was complaining about. Also, the manual doors at the end are likely for rescuing people if it gets stuck between to far-apart floors, as it would make it much easier to get people out in the event that it's impossible to move the elevator.

In theory, yes, but it's still possible that something could happen that prevents that. Say, for example, that the ropes snap and the car goes on safety. It's certainly not going anywhere then. Also, some Kone models, according to "Tails G" in his load weigher diagnosis video, also have a tendency to get physically stuck in the shaft. In those cases, it's generally possible to move the car the other way to get it unstuck, but it wouldn't be impossible for it to get stuck firmly enough to be unmovable. Another possibility, as shown in one of ElevatorAdjuster's videos (before he took them down) is that some types of door clutches, if out of adjustment far enough, can get caught on the rollers as they go past and either rip the doors off (as has happened to me once, amazingly the elevator still worked with the car doors off the track) or completely jam the elevator at the floor.
