Lift Pits and Lift Machine Rooms

Most entry level civil engineers are confused at the requirment of lift pits and lift machine rooms. Many dont even appreciate the need of a lift pit and the technical aspects involved in that. Even many entry level structural engineers just master modelling and analysis tools like etabs and dont take care of the structural loading requirement when it comes to lift. This video covers the loading requirements of the lift and also explains the lift pit elaborately covering the need and reinforcement details.
Different types of lifts like hydraulic lifts,vacuum lifts and conventional lifts are discussed with the relevancy of its useage and the probable load points and the loads.
