Just a little PSA: If you have any issue with an object getting stuck in you, ALWAYS seek medical attention. Don't worry about what the paramedics or doctors are gonna think, I guarantee they've seen much much worse. I used to work as a first responder and trust me, we're not here to judge, we're here to save your life. People die every day from not seeking medical attention and literally die from embarrassment. Don't be one of those people. Remember, if something happens to you, everyone is still going to know, so you might as well be able to explain the situation while you're alive

I use squat shoes bc I have bad ankle mobility, but I’m also working on fixing it and I’m so close to being able to get rid of them

I squat and do everything without a belt. Dosent benefit me and makes my massive frame look wierd. Tried it out once and it didnt help me at all

I've never used a belt before, and don't understand why you would need it. I use straps for back exercises, and stopped using wrist wraps.

I love how bodybuilders make so many leg machines to run away from the hard leg excercises like squats. Actually squatting bulgarian or a regular squat really takes a mental toll on you which is and they all run away from it lol

well tbh most normal shoes have probably just a little less heel elevation than squatting shoes but are less stable due to being made out of foam and not some harder material like wood or hard plastic

compression sleeves keep the joint warm. that's all I use. Call me soft, that's fine. I know I could lift the same amount without but it's just better on the joints.

tbh I don't even use a lifting belt above 85% of my squat & deadlift and any other compound directly loading the spine, if I can't keep my back straight then I'm simply just going too heavy and need to go back down in weight and focus on my form.

I don’t think lifting shoes ain’t bad for squats but apart from that u don’t need the rest only if ur going for a 1rpm in a comp (but that Doesn’t excuse wearing a belt for a lateral raises or a bench press 😂)

At 0:09 you can see his ankles shifting around. Tremendous energy leakage caused by his knee valgus and refusal to wear lifting shoes. Not surprising from someone who expects his forearms to match the strength of his entire posterior chain.

I look at lifting equipment the same way I look at cigarettes, they make you more calm and relax at the moment, but they give easy way out for your body and brain start craving towards it, instead of embracing the stress. So I fill like I experience less stress overall, than somebody who smokes

This is so annoying, at the gym i go to everyone is sitting down and using machines. Not many use belts but still. I saw people use a bench to lie down on for cable tricep extensions 🤦‍♂️. A new guy actually knows more than the regulars because he does standing ohp and other important compounds

The effect of standing up while overhead press vs sitting press is so minimal. Core strength is build in squats and deadlifts, pull ups and leg raises - thats all you need. You can isolate muscles better in machines. Mix it up with dumbbells and barbells and you will be fine. If you want a strong core then do Renegade Rows.

@@geouria No way. Heavy Renegade Rows are much more effective for core development. Planks and wheel are not effective. Front squat is also another way of engaging the core effectively. Its about bracing a heavy load that makes the core strong.

-Of course a lifting belt can help prevent injury by virtue of how it works -Also knee sleeves peovide compression to your knees, not stabilization -"BiG OlYMpic ShOeS" my shoes are like slightly bigger than my tennis shoes -Ill say it again, if you are not using lifting straps on back day you are NOT training with enough intensity

Lifting belts don’t help you prevent injury They let you lift more weight By making internal abdominal pressure But your core already does that 🤦 If you need straps on every back day for every set and every exercise that means your grip is weak so only use them on top sets

@@Elliscalisthenics They give you core something to isometrically contracts against, this providing you with more intraabdominal pressure thus supporting your spine more. Marginal use of a belt under heavy loads can actually make your core stronger at stabilizing due to the isometric contraction against the belt And I didn't say you should use straps for every exercise did I? I said if you are not using them AT ALL
