I'm 63 years old and have heard 100s of "professional" Rock Bands throughout my life here in the U.S. .. none of them have captured me the way this band has .. just something about their sound/musicality talent and energy that for me places them as the best of the best period.

@@morganolsson1993 One day Kanami asked the highest note of Saiki's voice, then Kanami wrote a song called "I can't live without you". So Saiki had to sing it's melody keeping her highest voice range. Akane said Saiki's face became red and looked like she was dying at the first rehearsal. Somebody in the member said it's kind a bullying. You know, now Saiki can sing it so easy. The sweetest girl Kanami often does such things. You can listen these conversations and laughing in the Audio Commentary of new DVD.

It's like Band-Maid waited for all the good things Rock'n'Roll has been producing since 1950's and then started to craft their own art with the "best of the best" and coming up with some of the best music you can find these days... (what am I saying, not "some of the best" but really THE BEST). All built around and on top of great lyrics, some English that could be looked has "hooks", something you can easily have some idea on what's going on (and then you can always look up for the whole translation...) ... I mean, Miku does a tremendous job with it and has the perfect team to give it the perfect music "wrap"... I really enjoy your reactions as I see you reacting to those little things, Miku's provocative eye contact or just violently headbanging, the wild drumming of Akane, MISA and Saiki's coolness (beside the insane playing skills and Saiki's muscled, unique voice) and Kanami. Man, Kanami is a tiny goddess... also moving between sweetness and wild "hair-on-the-floor" headbanging. It's really the perfect line up, the perfect band. Gosh, I really wish you could watch this latest DVD/BluRay... the way it starts just melts you right from the start. Akane starts with a freaking mind blowing drum solo connecting it to "Rinne"! THAT'S how you start a show from a band that has a song named "Domination"!! As a recommendation, I would insist on "FREEDOM" live in Zepp Tokyo because the song is another awesome one and there is a lot going on between them and Saiki almost in the middle of the crowd, Miku's singing Saiki's part while she comes off the fence... it's a freaking great moment to watch. Second recommendation: REAL EXISTENCE live in Zepp Tokyo (Saiki barefooted like MISA... calling her and having a "little dance") Third recommendation: DAYDREAMING, live or not... it's a very different side of what you've been reacting to so far, a more quite side, but still awesome... and Kanami's solo is one of the most beautiful guitar solos I ever heard in my life (perfect and because of it, too short, it's a piercing beautiful moment...)

@Mr. Rock N Roll: If you haven't been told yet, Band-Maid are scheduled to play Budokan in February of next year. Budokan is a pretty large venue (maxes out around 14,500 people), and getting to play there is kind of a "You made it" moment for bands in Japan. The first band to ever play there was the Beatles in 1966. Barring anything untoward from the COVID situation, there are a good number of international fans (including a couple of us from here in Atlanta) that are planning going. You should look into it.

Such a nice combination of "sass" and.... I dunno "spunk" maybe? Part of what makes Band-Maid so great is how on the one hand it's really hard to define, but on the other hand it's really easy: these ladies ROCK super hard with skill and finesse and energy that feeds back onto itself somehow, and transfers itself into the listener. Such a rare and unique combination that very few bands have been able to pull off, energy with emotion but without the "darkness" that usually comes with such a heavy heavy sound.
