Once a person is married, and becomes a Christian, he or she will have to be faithful to their spouse. 1 Peter 3:3 In the same way, you wives, be in subjection to your husbands, so that if ANY ARE NOT OBEDIENT TO THE WORD, they may be won without a word through the conduct of their wives, 2 because of having been eyewitnesses of your chaste conduct together with deep respect. Good people were placed in certain locations like Abraham's Bosom or the Paradise. God chose his only Son who had to willingly faced death to rescue the lost o souls and open the Gates of Heaven for us too by his Divine power of God.(other previous prophets couldn't to rescue souls through death since they were not of divine origin). And Jesus is always there in his Majestic youth to care and save us.

The Jewish mythology was based on Adam and Lilith. The Christian theologians changed the story to Adam and Eve. By the way, (within theology), if Adam was the first man that the god created, who was there to see the god create Adam, to be able to later write the story? If you don't ask pertinent questions of the dogmas, you will never "be able" to spot the lies.

The theology of Adam and Lilith was popular in Judaism, long before the Christians plagiarized the story to suit their own aims. And the Jews, at one time were polytheists, with beliefs in many gods. The stories are all based on human imagination ... not on truth. “We are all hallucinating all the time, including right now. It’s just that when we agree about our hallucinations, we call that reality. Anil Seth” … neuroscientist.

@@ethanmeraz6477 As a child, raised in a Christian culture, I often wondered why the Jews had a name for their monotheistic (one) god … Jehovah … and the Christians only mentioned the word “Father.” Now, I understand that the Christians tried to imply that that one god no longer loved the Jews, and changed his focus instead to loving only the Christians. I suggest that within theology, god theft ought to be against the law. At least when the Jews were polytheists, with belief in many gods, there were plenty of gods with names for everyone. If they got fed up with how a god was treating them, they fired the god, and created one that was more cooperative to their systems of belief. As an 82 years of age person, I now believe, as did Stephen Hawking (before he died) ... that the universe always existed, no creator, or plan ever was involved.

When we say: Christ died to save us, we have several problems: - Christ knew that it was impossible for Him to die, for God cannot die; - Christ was "dead" three days. But the concept of death is to cease to exist and not disappear for just three days! How can this be understood as sacrifice? - How does God accept as a sacrifice for the salvation of humanity, a passing pain and a near-death? There is a lack of information here that makes this process serious and not symbolic...
@prudentpenny Жыл бұрын
Natural death and spiritual death are two different kinds of death with different consequences.... everyone dies naturally once, and most will die spiritually, being the second death(which isn't like natural death because our souls live forever, but spiritual death is eternal separation from God, therefore at the behest of whatever the lake of fire and all the other demons have in store for said person). Christ knew he would die, but he still had to withstand being human, being tempted, enduring suffering, all the worst of humanity... and ultimately serve his bride (his people, the church). Once you understand the natural world and the spiritual world from God's perspective, and at the same time, if you believe God to be true, and truthful then it will make more sense.
@randychurchill2018 жыл бұрын
The early church never had any dispute over the doctrine of sin before Augustine. When Augustine formulated his doctrine it was a new idea and that is why the Greek church fathers rejected it. Augustine formulated his theory from his interpretation of Romans 5:12. He theorized that we all sinned “in” Adam. The early church had never interpreted Romans 5:12 this way. The early church believed that we sin “because” Adam sinned. They believed that Adam was guilty for his own sin. In the same sense we are guilty for our own sins. They did not believe that Adams sin corrupted human nature. What they believed is that we received a Mortal Nature from Adam, not a sinful nature. The reason for this is found in the two verses that follow Romans 5:12. It reads: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Vs 13 says that the men who lived from Adam to Moses had not sinned after the “similitude of Adams transgression. The reason their sin was not like Adams sin was for three reasons. First Adam was the first man. Second Adam was the first man to sin. Thirdly Adams sin brought death into creation. These men who lived after Adam to Moses were sinners. But it says that their sin was NOT imputed to them because the Torah had not been given yet. This clearly shows that these men had no “imputed guilt” from Adam. In fact they had no guilt reckoned to them at all because the law had not been given. Augustine could have easily corrected his interpretation of Romans 5:12 if he had read vs 13 because it contradicts his theory of imputed guilt to all men. These men who lived after Adam had no imputed or reckoned guilt because there was no Torah. In vs 14 it says that these men who lived after Adam had a more central problem. Adams transgression had placed them under the reign of death. This is confirmed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:56 when he says that “The sting of death is sin.” It was Adams first sin that had brought all men under the slavery and captivity of death. For that reason the wages of Adams sin for Adam was death. For all other men after Adam the “sting of death is sin. This is what is called the two dimensional aspects of sin. Both aspects are true, but the the bigger problem for us is death. It was also the central problem for these men who lived after Adam. Also this passage Identifies Adam as a Type of the one who is to come. This is universally interpreted to mean that Adam was a TYPE of Christ, The one who is to come or the second Adam. The next observation here is that Adam is a TYPE who sets up a PATTERN of the one who is to come. This is why the Bible teaches " that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to DECAY and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time". Romans 8:21,22. Cyril of Alexandria , Our nature became "diseased...through the sin of one". It is not guilt that is passed on, for the church fathers; it is a condition, a disease". The creation itself has been warped now that death is here, and since we are part of creation our relation to it is not the same. We are not in Eden any longer. So this is why the early church saw Adam as primarily giving us a Mortal Nature not a sinful nature. Our expressions of depravity are from the condition of death that has entered the world. Since Adam has Headship Paul lays out the fulfillment of the second Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:21 “For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being”; Christ who is the second Adam. The fulfillment of the pattern between the first and second Adam here is obvious. Adams sin brings death. Christ brings life. The western tradition by adopting Augustine’s doctrine of Original Sin or imputed guilt has shifted the emphasis from death to sin as the central problem that man faces. This emphasis is the very opposite of how the early church saw the purpose of the incarnation of Christ and his work on the cross. The scripture defines the work of Christ in Hebrews 2:14, 15. “Forasmuch then as the children are partaker’s of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” Also 1 John 3:8 “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” So the early church saw the work of Christ as defeating the devil who held the power of death over men. By shifting the problem to sin instead of death as the central problem the Protestant Reformers invented the doctrine of Penal Substitution. They saw the central problem as sin and not death. I would make another point here. The early church believed that Christ in the incarnation took on a Mortal Nature and by doing so enters into his creation that has been infected by death. It would have been impossible for the incarnation to occur if Christ had taken on a sinful nature from Mary. Instead when you understand that Christ takes on a Mortal Nature it becomes more obvious that by assuming a MORTAL Nature Christ subjects himself to the power of death so that He might defeat the central problem we face. By defeating death sin is defeated. The work of Christ is not about satisfying God’s wrath. God in his love is bringing justice to our oppressors. Satan, sin and death. This is the deeper understanding of the Atonement.God does not have to beat Jesus up on the cross so that God can stop being mad at you. Show less

@randychurchill2017 жыл бұрын
The the response is that God chose Mary to be the God bearer. You can ask hypothetical questions about anything that God does. But the point is that God chose and used Mary to bear Jesus Christ. The scripture says that Mary is highly favored among woman. When the Archangel Gabriel spoke to her, the Blessed Virgin could have refused God’s request to bear His Son. Her positive response to the Archangel Gabriel plays an important part in salvation. As St. Irenaeus of Lyon wrote, "Mary is the second Eve, whose obedience liberates humanity from the consequences of the disobedience of the first Eve. For this reason, on the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, Orthodox Christians sing, “ … the Mother of Life, who is the renewal of the creation of Adam and the recall of Eve, the fountain of incorruption, the liberation from corruption, through whom we have been deified and delivered from death, is born of the seed of David, dispersing darkness.” Mary could have refused to bear Christ, but she chose to obey God. Mary’s obedience is an example of synergy, or cooperation, with God.

If God will, I suggest you might consider the following. The reason why we, Roman Catholics, turn to the mother of Jesus and ask her to pray to God the Father, to the Holy Spirit and her Son, Jesus Christ, for our intentions is that we understand that God can do everything by Himself and that He doesn’t need a creature to do anything. Still, it is His will to allow His Human creatures to participate in the manifestation of Love. You see, God could choose to keep the ability to manifest Love or Christian Charity for Him alone, but He has decided that He would let us do it too. Just like a father allows his son to work with him. The father is allowing his son to do as he does. Consider this: At the wedding of Cana, Jesus could have done the miracle of the wine without the request of His mother. Why didn’t He do it before His mother asked Him? Another example: Why does God ask us to pray and intercede one for the other? He could always give us what we needed without waiting for our participation (our prayers). Yet, He doe. Perhaps He has created us to participate in His Love/Charity. ...” “Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself. God bless you.

I would ask the same thing for those who put free will on a pedestal. Why do people have the idea that God is pleading and begging man to make a good choice, but the instant they make that choice they are locked in to going to heaven. If man truly was able to freely choose salvation, then it is only logically consistent that they would then be able to freely choose to not be saved again. In that system, your salvation is as sure as the direction of the wind.

In Arminianism you choose Christ…and as long as you continue to choose Christ you’ll make it to Heaven! It really depends on you!! In Reformed theology…Christ chooses you….and also keeps you…and promises you’ll never perish… but…presents you faultless before the throne of grace!! It really depends on Him!! The assertion in question pertains to an intricate theological debate that has been the subject of extensive discourse and contemplation within the Christian faith. The passage alludes to the concept of the Trinity, a fundamental tenet in Christian theology which posits that God exists as three distinct persons-Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit-yet is one God. This paradoxical doctrine has been a focal point of contemplation and interpretation, particularly in relation to the nature of Jesus Christ and the implications of his crucifixion. In 1st Timothy 6:16, the notion of God's immortality is presented, which prompts a contemplation of the implications surrounding the belief that Jesus, as part of the trinity, experienced mortality through his crucifixion. This line of reasoning leads to a pivotal theological quandary: if Jesus' flesh, as an integral aspect of the Trinity, indeed perished, does this, in essence, imply a temporary dissolution of a component of the divine essence? If so, this notion seemingly contradicts the concept of God's immortality, thereby presenting a theological conundrum that necessitates a nuanced and thoughtful exploration. Consequently, the subsequent dichotomy posits that if the flesh of Jesus is not considered a constituent element of the Trinity, it follows that Jesus may not be unequivocally identified as God incarnate. This line of reasoning leads to a profound and profound theological inquiry that delves into the nature of Jesus' divinity and the essentiality of his sacrificial act. The crux of the matter lies in the implication that, should Jesus not be recognized as an inseparable aspect of the divine Trinity, the redemptive significance of his sacrifice could potentially be called into question, thus challenging the very foundation of Christian soteriology. This intricate theological puzzle necessitates a comprehensive examination of the nature of the Trinity, the hypostatic union of Christ, and the profound implications of his salvific work. Furthermore, it underscores the necessity of engaging in rigorous theological reflection and dialogue to navigate the complexities inherent in reconciling the mortality of Jesus' flesh with the overarching concept of God's immutability and eternality.

There are about 100 scriptures - 1st John 2:2, 1st Peter 3:18, 2nd Peter 3:9 etc. - that say or affirm that Jesus died for all. John 3:18 says that if you don't believe then you condemn yourself. I love John's preaching but I have to be a good Berean. Only believers will be in Heaven but before the lost experience the second death and be cast into the Lake of Fire. Why do you think the Book of Life was there along with the book of works from which they were judged? Another question ... can God die? When Jesus committed His Spirit to God the only begotten Son of God became sin and died for us as the second Adam to relieve us from the curse of sin. Jesus was the perfect Adam and the only one who could die for us. Praise Him

The idea that God would not be just to forgive sin without taking it out on a substitute, is error. To forgive is to love, and to love is to be just. Love is at the top of the tree and so needs not justifiy itself to anyone or anything, a fact commensurate with the fact that God is love and God is at the top of the tree. Substitutionary atonement implies that the law is an institution separate to God which God must pay attention to and satisfy. Its foundation therefore is legalism, for its premise is that God is under the law. But rather, Christ's death was simply demonstration of His death to self with regard to her who had been given to Him by the Father (on the proviso that He would never demand anything of her). For such (otherwise) demands constituted the law: in order to demonstrate that He would never use the law against her who had been given to Him by the Father, the Son had to go under the hammer of that very law. Which He indeed did. For the Jews were correct in their accusation that He broke the first commandment when He declared that He was equal with God (by declaring He was God's son). And so their crucifying of Him was indeed correct according to the law. And so we understand why it is that the apostle declares that "the law is not of faith": if it were of faith, it would not have crucified Him who declared in faith that He was God. Christ came as groom to receive His bride, and so being no pleasure-seeking fornicator, He would show her she was joint heir with Him by going under the law which had (otherwise) implied she was less than He. This in turn would prove to the Spirit that this very Christ was our very true Husband, and so the Spirit could enter us in confidence declaring this to be so. So then: 1. The Father betrothed us to the Son on the condition that the Son would never demand anything of us - that indeed the government would be upon His shoulders rather than ours. 2. The Son learned obedience by the things He suffered, and in particular by going under the hammer of the very law which had (otherwise) constituted such demands. 3. By virtue of (2), the Spirit could enter us as the exhaustive proxy of the Son, declaring to us that this very Jesus Christ is our very true Husband who will love us as Himself. So: (1) is the Father's giving of His daughter as wife to the Son. (2) is the Son's proving to the Father of His worthiness of the Father's prized possession. (3) is the consummation of the marriage (analgous to the human sexual union). So the correct idea is expressed via the marital paradigm. See then the "Atonement" section at colossians.freeforums.net .

If God is not able to overlook (freely pardon) sin, then how do you explain the parable of the unforgiving servant? The King frankly forgives the debt of the one servant. Look up the greek word for forgiveness in the Bible. It literally means to "take a loss" or to "pass over". It does not say to pass through or to get everything that is owed to you (penal substitution). MacArthurs view of the atonement is completely opposite of forgiveness. I like to call it the angry banker theory of atonement. God demands the money (sin debt) be paid and until he gets his money he will not forgive. Jesus was "made to be sin for us" means in greek, see its Hebrew link, "made a sin offering for us", that's what the Hebrew equivalent of hamartia is. Jesus did not actually become sin (a choice), He became "a curse for us" hanging on a tree, the Bible does not say He became "the" curse for us (the being a definite article). Jesus died on the behalf of our sins, but was not Himself a sinner nor did He (the most precious Son of God) become a sinner on the cross. The Bible clearly states we were redeemed by an incorruptible and pure offering, not a sinful one (1 Peter 1:18-19). Reformed theology actually makes Jesus out to be the worst of sinners on the cross, that's what Luther said, and its blasphemous.

An interesting myth of Baal tells of his battle with the god Mot, whose name means “death” (KTU 1.5-1.6). The storm god is defeated by Mot and dies, descending into the underworld. Later, Baal’s sister Anat defeats Mot and rescues Baal (KTU 1.6.ii.26-27). The myth is an allegory for the agricultural season. The god of storm arises during his proper season. A number of historians see these myths of Baal as the catalysts for later religious innovations. Baal’s death and resurrection is viewed by some as the origin for later beliefs about dying and rising savior gods and belief in life after death (J. Day 2000, pp. 116-27). Baal’s defeat of Yamm, the sea god, is thought by some to be the origin of the later tale of Israel’s exodus through the Red Sea (compare Isaiah 51:9-10) (Kloos 1986).

It is John's job to deliver the message of salvation but he does not do this because he mixes in works which are not part of the Gospel of Grace. To be saved one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, which is to believe that He is the Son of God and that He died in your place for your sins. It does not mean repenting of your sins and making Jesus Lord of you rife or asking Him into your heart or any of the other steps that John adds to salvation which can only damn anyone who chooses to listen to what John has to say about how to be saved. All the things John adds to the Gospel in order for one to be saved are in fact things one does in order to serve Christ and to earn rewards but not to be saved. Salvation is the FREE gift of God to all who believe on His Son Jesus. Rewards are earned. And John and others seeking to charge for God's free gift will have to answer for their error one day and also for those people who they have eternally shut off from eternal life by their error.

@@Ghanaba23 I know hes not the antichrist! A man claiming to be God in the flesh. Most Christian's already worship the antichrist as God! So deceived they cant see it's been right under thier noses the whole time!

@@RoseSharon7777 Jesus never claimed to be God, really? Ok, answer these questions for me 1. Jesus claimed several times that he was with his father before coming to the earth, right? who was Jesus before he came to the earth? 2. Read John 8:55-58, Jesus said "Your father Abraham saw me and he was happy" and "before Abraham was, I AM". Why did the Jews wanted to stone him for saying that, and what did he mean by the way?

@@Ghanaba23 LOL. you need to go study the bible for yourself and stop listening to false teachers. Try reading the Greek and Hebrew. YHWH's sacred name in the OT was NOT "I AM". And Yeshua's response as "I Am" was mistranslated in that one spot. SMH! No wonder 99% of the church is lost in idolatry! You dont even know how to study! So Yeshua said he came down from heaven? So he said he is the manna from above? He said his flesh is the manna? So are you saying he had flesh in heaven? Dear, you better get cracking on your study because you're as lost and deceived as a goose!!
