Rhule is a terrible coach. He's 2-21 against Top 25 Teams. Also 10-9 at Nebraska and 5-8 in the Big 10

@@KALICOE lol. I can't speak for Matt Rhule but I dont think he will fire a coach mid-season let alone fire them at all unless they did something off the field. To my point I was trying to make is last year, all I saw was everybody wanting Raiola fired. This year, nobody is saying it I think because they are scared Dylan will transfer.

Lol "no excuses for not being able to go get a good supporting staff" yet that's exactly what we've done is make excuses lol. Rhule has a 25yo WR coach and we made excuses about that. Marcus Satterfield has never been a good OC we've made excuses for him. And we also keep making excuses for Ed Foley's utter catastrophe that we call special teams. We can't do a single damn thing right on special teams but it's not the coach's fault 😂😂😂

Husker fans dont just want an nfl player factory. We are husker fans not nfl fans.. am i the only one who doesnt give a crap about the nfl? Nebraska doesnt have an nfl team so who cares. College football is everything to our state. We deserve a coach and staff focused on the huskers winning, not a coach and staff focused on getting a few players to the nfl.

Completely agree. Even more so now that college players are actually getting paid so guys making it to the NFL isn't nearly as important. But yeah. Get the process right and the "NFL" stuff will take care of itself. The NFL is a glorified WWE anyway and I'm afraid the same is happening in college. Pay attention to the spreads and strange things happening in games and you'll see. Nebraska never had to focus on making NFL players. We were much more concerned with making men who actually show up to play for 4 quarters when it's game time. Tom Osborne didn't give a crap about NFL. He coached badasses who would show up on Saturday and kick ass. Biggest thing going to drive me insane is lack of effort and give a shit on Saturdays. Showing up unprepared. Looking like we don't even want to be there. Wanna talk about NFL players? Maybe show up for a game first before talking about NFL. Can't even play 4 quarters of football ffs.

I agree Wison. Matt is far from giving up. After the beating we took it's hard to remember this is only 1 and 1/2 years into the build. We will probably loose to OS but he won't quit. I believe he will reevaluate the coaches at the end of the season. To pull the plug not isn't beneficial. I think the higher upside will force a change at season end if we don't improve. 😊

I thought Rhule was awesome as hell, then Indiana did that to us and heard he's playing an injured Raiola. Dude you don't risk destroying a player like that. Rest that guy up and get him back when he's good to go. I see how hard Rhule works though and I still believe he'll do really good here in the end. GBR!

Rhule said it would take a few yrs to build. It's only been 1 1/2 seasons. In world of immediate gratification & cancel culture, patience is missing. We'll have 7 wins this season & more next yr. Let CEO Rhule do his job. GBR!

This kool-aid culture which surrounds the media and fan base actually hurts the program. The fans get over hyped with expectations and convince themselves we are a 9 , 10 , 11 win team and then can't handle getting the doors blown off.. or never call for changes.

Ok I’m a life long NDSU fan my dad played their in the 60’s so it’s cool to see you mention them. The roster isn’t better though the reason NDSU wins consistently is because of development and buying in to a culture and scheme. Yes there’s NFL talent on the roster and they have kids who could be at high level FBS schools but it’s about culture and buy in.

Wilson … the fans don’t give a crap about draft choices … if they are good enough to get drafted, then they should have played like it … the fans only care about results. The Ohio State game will tell us everything … they’ll probably lose cause State is a better team … but are the Huskers going to come out and fight, or they going to roll over and stick their heads in their butt? Rhule is the CEO and he is the man responsible for the results … sad to say it is very doubtful he will keep his buddies accountable .

I think Rhule is now faced with a decision. He knows that the team has been in regression since the 2nd half of the Colorado game. He knows that a number of our upcoming opponenents have been progressing since the start of the season. He knows that without a sudden dramatic change we could be facing at least 4 more blowout losses. The wheels are already off of the program. I think he will cut his losses.

Is Matt Rhule the right guy? It really depends on what the standard is. If the standard is to (at some point down the line) be an elite team and have a shot at a national championship, I think that ship has sailed. Elite head coaches don’t lose in the fashion they lost on Saturday. EVER. However, if the expectation is to get back to being somewhat relevant and respected, meaning consistent winning seasons and once in a blue moon winning 9, maybe 10 games with the right schedule, Rhule can still absolutely pull that off in time. He’s not an awful HC, Cignetti just has a cut-throat, “winning at all costs, no matter how much of a jerk you look like” mentality, and that contrast couldn’t have been shed more light on in the matchup. That’s what you need to win it all and Rhule doesn’t have that quality, nor does he want to. Nebraska and Nebraska fans are at a pivotal precipice right now where they have to make a stark decision- do you ride it out with Rhule and hope you can get to a point where you look like Iowa does right now (which is what Rhule wants) or do you swing for the fences again and risk cementing yourself as a bottom feeder in the new Big 10. You can only ride the 90s success for so long, we don’t have unlimited time to get it right.

Y’all let his motivational speaking get to you too much. He’s going to be mediocre for a long time. He’s always been a mediocre coach. Look at his record overall and against ranked teams. It’s not good. It’s not going to change. You guys listen to his bs speeches at a press conference and get all emotional and motivated again. There’s no games left on the schedule to win. I do agree that the majority of the fan base allows the talk to get to them and we are not showing any signs of real walking. I think we've got a decent chance against UCLA still though I feel you are right losing out is certainly potential considering the amount of quit this team shows when they get punched in the face. Going to be a very frustrating end of the year if we don't go bowling. Not sure what next year promises. I guess we just keep hoping for seven to eight wins 🤷‍♀️ it sure did suck when Bo was our coach and we would get eight wins or more. Really sucked going to ball games in conference championships. The guy just couldn't win the important games and would get blown out. It's much better that we only win five or six games, and still get blown out by the important teams put also lose to less relevant teams. That's way better. I hope we have more of this 🙄

8 wins would be miraculous. 6 wins is the most likely result, although it’s still far from an inevitability. UCLA is out best shot at getting over the hump, but USC is in almost as dark of a spot as us right now and Wisconsin & Iowa don’t look like world beaters. I think there are plenty of reasons to be negative on the outlook of this team and the program, but we have to be careful not to swing too far in the other direction

Let's get the Facts Straight: Rhule was 28-23 at Temple. Rhule was 19-20 at Baylor (Losing Record) Rhule is 10-9 at Nebraska. You didn't mention that Rhule is 2-21 against Top 25 Teams. Rhule is 57-52 Overall in College Football!! Also 5-8 in the Big 10 Conference. So NO Matt Rhule Will Not get it done!! His records speaks for themselves.

He WILL fix it? On what authority or precedent? The turnarounds? How about this, against elite coaches: 1. NFL - bombed at Carolina. NFL coaches are elite 2. 2-26 against Top 25. Top 25 coaches are usually set apart 3. Out-coached in multiple B1G games. Out-schemed, outmatched. B1G coaches are not typical with whom he faced at Baylor and Temple. Add them up and it might just be he's a motivator and can get kids hyped to win mid tier games. Elite competition? Seems suspect.

Here's why I disagree, Man is sleeping in his office and getting woke up in the morning by Dylan. Sure one could perceive this as dedication to the job... I perceive it as stress. This man is dealing with an insane amount of stress. Maybe it's stress at home which is why he's staying at the office, not a good thing for a man to not be able to sleep at his own home if there's stress at home. Or maybe he's drinking on the job and passing out at the office on the floor, again not a good thing though I think this is probably not the case. Most likely he is so stressed out about his job and trying to figure out how to make this work and it's eating him alive. Not looking too good.

Pessimism is warranted. The team has literally regressed. Team consistency > individual progress. Rhule, so far, is living up to his mediocracy. Just look what Indiana has done in 8 months. Spare me the 3-5 year rebuild gaslighting. On Saturdays, I watch football all day long. When it comes to Husker game time, they look like a 14 year old dog that catches a squirrel sometimes, but usually ends up just rolling around in his own shit. I'd say NU has become the Kansas of the BIG10, but even Kansas flipped the switch within a year. NU's identity is being predictable and floundering in the second half. Until Rhule makes some major staff changes, which he likely won't, get use to 5-7....especially in the new BIG10.
