I used this rig all summer. I used screws from hardware store after I lost way too many tungsten screw weights. I found just a standard EWG hook worked best because the worm would ride up the line when a fish is on and that sometimes saved you from losing it on every fish. I primarily fished it in lay down wood because it sinks straight down as opposed to on a arch or slope. Caught way more fish with this rig this summer than regular texas style

Tried this a few years ago with ned baits, they called it a tiny child rig, which seemed like a dumb name. Never thought to try with a fullsized senko though. Have to put it on the list for next year.

The "Gary rig" works great for dock fishing. As you said, it skips well, but it also swims backward after popping it up. This backward swim is a presentation very different from the slow downward flutter of a wacky rigged Senko. Some days it will outperform the mighty wacky rig! It also comes through weeds with some slime much better than a wacky rig.

Assuming Daiwa is upgrading the Zillion with new technology soon? I picked up one from Omnia and the sweatshirt is badass. Local store in Ohio has Zillons on clearance. That and the 2023 Tatula 100 getting upgraded with Hyperdrive makes me think the Zillion may be getting a makeover soon.
