Remember hair can suffer hydral fatigue. Too much water is not good. It makes it weak and limp.like lifeless. Hair is extremely weak when it wet. So I would be careful putting a lot of water in the hair. It’s jut like some plants that die when given lots of water. Your hair can hold water inside for days that. That’s why we need sealant products.
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Yes, so I heard but how come guys don't suffer from hygral fatigue even though most of them wet their hair everyday? Water is not really the problem, people suffer from hygral fatigue when they do things like deep conditioning overnight, using green house method etc. Wetting your hair every few days when you moisturise will not give hygral fatigue. That said, leaving your hair wet 24hrs a day and 7 days a week is not a good idea because the excess moisture can cause fungi to build on your scalp and that can cause scalp issues. 💙💙💙

What about if your an athlete who plays sports and sweats alot. i rinse my hair with water after training and games but i don't think i should be putting products on the hair until the next wash day. I would appreciate your thoughts or advice?
@LilianOkibe2 жыл бұрын
That is fine. All you need to do is include a product that doesn't get washed away by water in your regimen. A basic oil or butter will work. That way, you still have a little of it in your hair even after rinsing so that your hair doesn't dry out as much. I also rinse my hair very often without putting products back in and this works for me. I just use a little bit of shea butter once or twice a week. ❤️❤️❤️

What are your morning and night routine for natural hair. Keep smiling. Thank u.
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
It varies depending on what I feel my hair needs but generally, at night I just protect with a satin scarf, bonnet or pillow case. Some nights I lightly spritz and oil my edges and scalp if I feel that they are dry. In the morning I just remove my scarf. lol If my hair is dry then I'll moisturise (most times I do that in the course of the day). Thank you so much dear. ♥️♥️♥️

Hi Sis! This is so informative. Thanks a whole lot🤗 I'm just watching😩 Wanted to ask.. what about using Ambunu (powder + water) or aloe vera gel (blended) as leave in? Since they are water based, can try serve as moisturizers too? Or we need to first use water before using them??
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
They can work but you won't get the best result if you only depend on them all the time. Think of it like when you're thirsty; even though drinks can help to quench your thirst, you'll get the best result when you drink plain water instead of drinks. 💙💙💙

@@LilianOkibe ooh I mean when u talked about product build up and how it can affect how much water is taken up by the hair shaft does that apply to oils as well or how many times do u oil ur hair before wash day?
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Yes it affects oils too but it depends on the kind of oil you use (heavy oils build up faster than light oils), how often you use the oils and how much of the oils you use. Generally, for someone who constantly uses heavy oils like castor oil, I won't recommend going beyond 14 days before you wash. 14 days may even be too long for some people.

Heyc Lilian,I'm on your video.how many times do you manipulate your hair in the course of the week? After washing day,i daily watering my hair but do not touch it in the intercourse.is shampooing is necessary each week?coz my hair dry up quickly
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
How often I manipulate my hair varies really, it depends on what style I am wearing and if I don't get bored of the style. Lol You don't have to shampoo every week but then again it depends on how drying your shampoo is and the kinds of products you use. I'd like to know what it is that you are doing (or not doing) that is making your hair dry. Please send me a DM on Instagram (@lilian_okibe) if you don't mind. 💜💜💜

Hello, can I use aloe vera and shea butter to moisturize my hair. Can i also moisturize daily.
@LilianOkibe4 жыл бұрын
Technically, you can but it depends on whether or not your hair likes aloe vera (some people's hair don't). How often also depends on your hair and the weather condition where you live. Personally, I can spritz my hair daily if I want but applying sheabutter everyday is too much for me because it will make my hair greasy way before my next wash day. ♥️♥️♥️
