Honestly, I've always been a sucker for Gretsches (having grown up listening to The Beatles and seeing George Harrison play them in the early days of the band) and they're always such fun to play. Great demo as usual, guys, keep it up

G6609TDCs -- Pete's guitar actually has two BT65s and no Filter'Tron. Rabea's guitar has a BT65 in the neck and a Filter'Tron in the bridge.

I just bought one of their Jet Club Jr's and love it - the only drawback being they cheaped out on the bridge design which doesn't have individual string adjustments For the $ the new cheap Gretsch line really sounds plays and feels amazing for working grade gig guitars

To my understanding through lots of internet reading, the Broad'tron pickups are regular humbuckers voiced and wound specifically to give a more classic filter'tron sound.

While listening to this video I thought there might be something wrong with the audio because Pete and Bea appeared far more enthusiastic about the tone than was coming across to my ears. I just thought the guitars sounded lacklustre and a bit lifeless.... Then they played the £2500 guitars and like their reaction in the video... what a difference I heard! I am a top shelf guitar buyer but I also fully appreciate there are many many affordable guitars these days that play and sound great. This time however, I really thought the difference in rich, texture and nuances came across loud and clear in the video. The expensive guitars really made the amps and tone come alive. To be fair it's good that guitars costing multiple times more than the affordable ones, really do have a significant difference, but more expensive gear doesn't always translate so easily in quality of tone. More Bea and Pete please! 👍

I just bought the midnight sapphire streamliner. It is absolutely fantastic. It came beautifully set up and the semi hollow-body gives a beautiful acoustic sound the pickups to my ears are fantastic. The only thing I don't like is the pots are not good the volume control pots are lousy. And the gretsch bigsby is a bit finicky and goes out of tune at times, but that is standard for those. I will try to address it. But I love playing this guitar, it is so light and comfortable.. The finish is flawless. Love it.

Damn!! What a duo. Tell ya what, I’m thinking pickups might be the most important part of a guitar. Could I get a used $200 Squier and put some Bareknuckles in it and have a $2,000 sound? Hmmmm...
@toby82613 жыл бұрын
If the body doesn't resonate well you won't get nice sustain with those bare knuckles, if the neck is cheap you won't get a nice feel playing it, if the frets are cheap you'll get buzz, lots of stuff goes into making an expensive guitar. That being said pickup upgrades will never hurt!
