Just a heads up, this is NOT the big video I was hinting at in my update video. I've had some free time in between making that video, so I decided to make this quick video. If you want an update on how that's going, it basically is way bigger than I ever imagined it was going to be, and is taking a bit longer than anticipated. I still expect to have it out around the end of this month, but understand if it's not out 100% on time. Anyways thanks for your cooperation, enjoy the video, and remember the fact that we are all going to die one day!

I get your point, but the thing is that games like Persona 5 and Danganronpa are designed like this on purpose, you're not supposed to be able to experience every single thing in one playthrough, figuring out what stuff is best for you to do in your free time is part of the experience of these games. But also both these games have multiple save slots for a reason, if you mess something up you have the choice go back and fix it.

To be honest, I sort of agree and disagree here. On one hand missing content in a game sucks, yeah, but on the other it'd be sort of impossible within the universe of say Persona to rewind time. And not to mention there's much there available the only way to really solve the problem is to due away with the mechanic. But then, you don't actually feel like a Japanese High Schooler living a day-to-day life. Good vid none the less.

You have to be able to subdue your completionist urges to enjoy a time limit. The Persona time limit is really important to making the dungeons more fun. It adds additional benefits to managing your resources well. And it's really forgiving. Couldn't finish the dungeon today? It's okay you can pick up where you left off later. Treat the free time in Persona as Korok Seeds.
@cassidy83076 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree that it can be super stressful. It can be used in moderation, but usually i'd usually prefer if the mechanic was not there. Also, in persona 5, when characters said they were tired, it just means that they are running low on hp and/or sp.
@owlucard97806 жыл бұрын
I don't mind when I have a limited amount of actions like the first two games you mentioned, but when a game says "hey you have an hour, fucking beat that boss nerd" that's when I get stressed
@GrilledLeeks6 жыл бұрын
Semi-spoilers for Danganronpa After you finish the game, you get an entire mode dedicated to finishing free time events that you didn’t get to. Even with those who have died. Does that help mitigate the stress of not seeing those events during the main game for you?

SaltyBrim That helps in terms of learning their stories, but I still feel like missing out on all those abilities is something that will cause me to overlook the segment and panic. I’m nearing the end of Danganronpa so I’ll check that out, however it still doesn’t 100% alleviate that stress and annoyance. This might just be a me thing idk. Either way thanks for the heads up
@GrilledLeeks6 жыл бұрын
vinnysuperg123 It’s super understandable that you still feel that way. I felt like it should be mentioned that you can still gain access to all free time content without reloading to past chapters or starting a new playthough. Also I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on DR once you’re finished
@ilyabond27076 жыл бұрын
The dangaronpa is seems unfair but at the same time you can play the whole dedicated minigame about cleaning and etc. and also you can learn all the background stories. Also, i think that some skills are helpful, but still you can play even without them - they are do not make the game like super hard

The real reason you don't like time limits is because every time you deal with one you deal with the fact you got nuked within half an hour every time you visited some weeb discord

One thing about Persona. In 3 and 4, you actually have "getting tired" as a mechanic that does exactly what you said. Characters could even get randomly sick in 3. It's possible to sleep in class or an entire free day to get your condition back to normal though.

Time Limit Mechanics. Not actually "Limited Time Mechanics," as it isn't a halloween event of Mario cart in TF2 or what ever, it's instead just time limits as a mechanic.

Danganronpa free time segments aren't that important, you don't even need the skills on hard. And you unlock free mode after beating the game. With Persona you have to just do what you want, you can beat the game on hard regardless, but it still annoys me figuring out what I actually want to do and what I will do in later playthroughs, because every time you do an activity you also think of things you might be missing out on. This is only the case because they show you all the options you have... Choosing a side character to max your relationship with is fine, but you have to choose multiple, and some encounters later in the game might catch you by surprise... I guess if you want to get everything in Persona you have to beat NG+, I have no idea if they show you dialogue options you picked already though... I don't think so. You'll be able to tell what you haven't maxed though. I agree with you on majora's mask.

Hey, just curious, what are your opinions with Afterbirth Plus now, after bug fixes, patches, all the booster packs plus forgotten, etc?
@vinnysuperg1236 жыл бұрын
Very much so the wrong video to be asking this, but what the hell. Basically, almost every point in my original video still stands. I still believe almost every word in that video, minus a couple things about there being no good new items. In terms of the booster pack, while I do feel its too little too late, its actually a decent update with a cool new character. Problem is though, I got burnt out on Isaac a couple months ago, so I haven't really dived too deep into the new pack. Basically, the update is cool, however it does NOT justify all the other bullshit I stated in my video.
@bluerious54756 жыл бұрын
vinnysuperg123 Yeah, sorry about that lol. Thought it might’ve been better to ask about it on your latest video. Anyway, I honestly do like the Afterbirth + dlc. I find it pretty fun and it does add quite a bit to the game, and it honesty is pretty underrated. On my first run I did like the void floor and Delirium(however the latter might be due to the fixes they made after the original issues the fight had initially.) Yeah, sure, it’s big, but by the time you get to it, you’re most likely going to blow through the rooms quickly, so it does make sense. You also say the boss pool items aren’t necessary, but even when you’re near the end of the game, boss pool items are going to be helpful either way. Hell, it could end up breaking the game even further than you already have. I do agree that it is a bit lazy, though. I’d at the very least want both the starting room and delirium to have their own room designs, and have the rest of the rooms have a deteriorating effect to them. You do mention items not really being useful in AB+, but they honestly added some great items to the game. One big and obvious one is the void item. You can pretty much just change all bad items into useful stat ups, and take as many active items as you want to. It’s honestly why I like Appolyon a lot. The void can cause many crazy game breaking combos to happen, and especially synergizes well with 12 room active item charges, like the mega blast. That’s just one example. I’m honestly willing to defend greedier because of how it’s trying to be a harder greed mode. The lower money per round means you’ll need to be wiser on what you buy, and does make it a bit more strategic. I haven’t actually unlocked it myself however, I’m probably not the best to talk about this, and I don’t have an opinion on ultra greedier yet. I will say that, I feel like they should’ve given less money per round, but also kept the total amount of money earned per floor the same, as that just makes it simply a riskier greed mode. That would probably make it a much better mode, but I’m willing to defend what it is. That’s really how I feel about the DLC. I think the additions to the game are pretty fun, some are a bit bullshit though and I do agree with you on some points, but I feel like all versions of Rebirth had some bullshit in it. And don’t really count my greedier defense as a valid opinion since I haven’t necessarily played it myself, I see it can be frustrating but i feel like that’s what they were trying to go for on greedier mode. And yeah, mod tools and ultra hard were pieces of shit lol
@bluerious54756 жыл бұрын
vinnysuperg123 Now that I’ve unlocked and played greedier, I can say that it isn’t THAT bad of a mode, I didn’t find ultra greedier that hard, and the lesser coin drops are annoying, but not the worst thing ever. Still believe it could’ve been handled better tho.

so you sell your games once you're done with them or why replaying them is out of the question?(even if they are long, that shouldnt matter since you like them so much)
@vinnysuperg1236 жыл бұрын
malvark777 You also need to remember that I am constantly playing new games. There are too many games out there for me to justify putting ANOTHER 100 hours into something like P5. That on top of me having an actual life and doing other things.
@baambis6 жыл бұрын
I feel like your problem is not with the time limit itself, it's more like, while playing, you feel the need to play in the most optimal way possible (which is understandable, I do it too) and the time limit just prohibits you from playing this way. But when it comes to games like Persona or Dead Rising, I think they're just not designed for this type of play. You're supposed to miss a lot of stuff and feel like you're making decisions as you go. Also that's why in all of those games you can unlock pretty much everything you missed in NG+ or second playthrough.
@vinnysuperg1236 жыл бұрын
Kejk My biggest issue with the NG+ argument is mainly the fact that Persona 5 is like 80-100 hours long so NG+ isn’t something I will be feeling after already putting that much time into it. But like I say in the video, I like all three of these games however I’m not the biggest fan of this type of mechanic.
@JCLegendary6 жыл бұрын
Be glad you started with Persona 5, you would have hated the Tired mechanic in Persona 3. Not only does it do everything you thought it would do in P5, it also causes the tired party members to leave the dungeon entirely if you go back to save or something. And if you try to keep fighting with them tired, they'll get an even worse status condition. It makes the early game of Persona 3 basically unplayable.
@gamecubeking6 жыл бұрын
AND the tired status can CARRY OVER TO THE NEXT DAY, meaning the game FORCES cool downs between days you get to go to the dungeons.
@darciheadswillroll6 жыл бұрын
I agree with u as always, I love persona 5, but the time mechanic to do dungeons is immensely generous and actually just today I completed a dungeon, in 3 in game days, and with a bunch of free time to rank up confidant, so stop your bitching, Haru is wife, and Morgana is a shadow. Also I need to get into dagenrampa
