I played maybe 20 hours before repentance. Now I have over doubled my time after starting Rep a month ago. I always felt Isaac was too lucky based, your times really determine if it's possible to even win. Unlike my favorite games like Risk of Rain 2 or Gungeon, your skill alone can't carry you in Issac. But I come to find that there's a high skill ceiling in learning to min max runs and use items to their full potential. BOI is not solely a twin stick shooter like I thought. It's a game of knowledge and knowledge is always your strongest asset. Although having to pull out my phone every 30 seconds to consult the wiki pushed me to buy the game on PC to get the item display mod. It's really fun to learn the items, but it's not fun to have to constantly pull out my phone during gameplay

Another big difference between Doug and Scott is that most of the inside jokes in Borderline Forever were RUNNING gags in the other Scott the Woz videos-meaning that, even if you haven't seen a lot of his videos, you've probably come across an instance of the joke at some point! Meanwhile, a lot of Doug's inside jokes in his movies were things that might have come up in only ONE review, so it's quite likely you missed it, thus ruining the quality of the inside joke!

The alt floors are such a good addition man. There's so many clever ways to use them, like getting an extra item room out of mausoleum 2, alternating main/alt path to force boss challenge rooms, using the extra floor of downpour 2 for another boss item and extra pickups, there's so many options for how to take a run and them being easy to access/switch to means your path will be different for each character and first floor item set

8:19 wtf is that take dude. gunplay in bm is awful, the weapons feel horrible to use. the sounds and sound design in general just lacks when compared to hl, everything in bm sounds generic. the mp5 passed from those sharp and tracer-like sounds to that annoying peashooter in bm. how did they go from hl2's great feeling shotgun to whatever the hell that stick in black mesa is? the sound is terrible, and it's the weapon you're going to use the most in game.

I get your feelings towards Isaac after afterbirth +. I’ve had to say goodbye to many games I like this year because they were all ruined in my eyes because of something tied to them that I couldn’t bare to think about so I just feel bitterness towards them now.
