I would add: developing a practice of healthy emotional attachment/detachment, suspending belief, and at least momentarily ending all thought within your mind. Look within yourself to see the birth of ego, and suddenly you may also see the end of ego, and self torment. Took me only half a century to actually do it. The movie Limitless is essentially the common experience of most people with undiagnosed AD(H)D once they have reached diagnosis and entered titration at long last. I know because I always related to this movie, but since my own diagnosis, more than ever. It changed my life. Medication exists for a reason. But it’s not a screaming endorsement either, it shows the issues of drugs like stimulants and the negative side effects, especially that first morning after his meds wear off, and the constant threat of medication running out without a follow up makes you wonder if your life rests on it, etc., It’s a strange world being AD(H)D. You fluctuate between feeling genuinely disabled, and genuinely “limitless”.

Or you can trick yourself into thinking the symptoms are overcomeable, and do so much difficult shit so often using lifelong learned strategies that you build out your frontal lobe. The brain is plastic, it molds and grows. After months of doing more and more hard shit my executive function straight up improved. I wasn't able to keep it up due to very external factors, but I'm trying to get there again through exercise, diet, less consumption and other obvious stuff.
@Abzuhuzwn4 ай бұрын
@@BusinessWolf1 I would agree with this one hundred percent. The level of reading and focusing because of the meds has allowed me to devour 800 page books with absolute comprehension in 2-3 days. If you're going any faster than that you have a photographic memory, and those really don't even exist. But my reading speed went from something stupid like 130 wpm because I had to keep rereading pages over and over again and my raw reading speed was pretty slow at that, to 450 wpm and I barely have to go back and re read now. I noticed too that off meds, on occasion when that has happened, I have had much higher levels of concentration and cognitive capacity than before the meds. I have been working 2 jobs including at a bar as well which I never would have pushed myself to do before and the diligence I am capable of now genuinely shocks me. I practically needed my partner to drag me out of bed last year. It's so funny because I always felt internally like the kind of person who could wake up at 4 in the morning and drive cross country to get somewhere early, now I just actually do it instead of thinking it, and I don't have music on, it's usually an audiobook.

This movie did change my life, this movie made me realize the why my parents kept pushing presentation and education my entire childhood, because it doesn't matter how good looking you are and or how smart you are if you look like a hobo, you will be treated how you look. When Limitless came out I had just started to rent my first room, not an apartment just a single room, i was coming from living in a hessed house. And then i saw this movie, not only it explained things I was refusing to see, but it also reminded me where I came from and trust me when I tell you it hurt like a mf when I realized the skyscraper size fall I had taken, that was the day I decided to get my shit together, but I assure you it wasn't as fast as the movie portrayed, maybe some NZT would've helped make it faster lol. Now a can vouch for this movie, Just your looks ALONE will grant you some pretty privilege that is basically a cheat code, everything changes when you are in shape, everything is easier. I went from being the typical "muscle" in the group of friends, to being the typical "pretty boy" in the group of friends, always with a smokeshow in hand, now add to that having brains, style and some decent money and your options are LIMITLESS

it depends a bit on movie vs book portrayal, as Eddie in the book does not have a purpose, he simply decides that he'd like to have some money without any reasons as to what he wants to do with it, and is happy to stand on others shoulders to get there. The book is quite clear on its criticism, portraying a culture of 7 billion people trying to make themselves happy by standing on each other's shoulders and kicking each other's teeth in. The movie makes Eddie a lot more likable, because he has purpose. We don't know what his purpose is, only that he becomes senator in pursuit of it, and this is the crux of the story. We essentially are told to trust our bro Eddie that all the (mildly) unethical steps he takes to achieve his purpose are ultimately for the greater good and utilitaristically ethical. But since we never get to know his purpose we never know if he is a saviour, or a villain, just that he is hungry for power. For all we know this could be Thanos backstory (if Thanos was white). The TV series actually expands on that, making Eddie the antagonist. It's a bit complicated and nebulous, but when justifying himself, he reveals that he has this rice grain that will solve world hunger, but he needs more power (he is expected to run for president) to implement it without other rich people and lobbyists killing it out of self-interest. All he needs is for the dumb public to shut up and the government to get out of the way, so he as the brilliant chosen hero can save the world. This meshes very nicely with the earlier movie, since world hunger really isn't a problem of resources anyway. We have more than enough resources to solve world hunger, the problem is the distribution of the resources, or rather the lack of political and economic willpower. As such Eddie is essentially one of the well-meaning billionaires who are self-appointed saviours, pledging to use the wealth they've hoarded to fix the problems the hoarding of that wealth created. The book sequel/prequel (both in one lol) also critiques this in a very nice way. Personally I found the book to be pretty good, while the movie is brilliant, since you can totally see both sides and emphasize with both. It is the time old question of how far you are willing to go for your version of the greater good, and how much arrogance you have to believe that you know better. And with the inclusion of a drug that makes him superhumanly intelligent, it is easy to believe that he is the actual saviour, that he actually knows better. On the other side, it also is exempliary in showing us, how many people believe that they could do better than the establishment. It is astonishing, how many people believe that the current government and systems of law would be better if they just magically became a dictator and rewrote everything. A lot of people tend to see a few flaws in a system and are eager to completely rewrite it, naively believing that what they come up with won't have more flaws.

Currently going through this. Things are absolutely going well. I had 2 really big and complex exams the past 2 weeks. Exams where, a few years ago, had you told me I would be able to take them and do well on them; i'd have said: "nah, I'm too dumb for that". I was able to grind for 8-9 hours a day focused shortly before the exams. Mind you; i felt crazy accomplished at the end of each day and genuinely felt like I didn't waste a second, which was true. Obviously I realize that's not maintainable longterm, as I certainly did NOT enjoy that crazy amount of time either, but I think 5-6hrs a day is the sweet spot where I still feel as good as if I had done 9, but I get to keep my sanity. I am taking a day off tomorrow tho to just sleep and recover, but my fear is that after that (on friday) I'll be struggling to get back into a sufficient routine now that the pressure of these exams is away. I have another exam, but it's a month down the line, so I don't necessarily feel like I "need" to study 5-6hrs a day. But I personally just want to keep some of my momentum going. I also feel like i should start journaling because there were times where I did crazy well and had a good routine going, but i can never remember the exact step by step of the routine that worked for me. I literally had one of those "my early morning routine" things going for a long time, but i somehow forgot the step-by-step of that. Idk, it's weird. but yeah, I'll rewatch this movie tomorrow on my day off for sure. that and a few other cool movies in general. I guess i certainly feel like i earned this break, but I'm also afraid of the potential struggle that may come the day after. I just know myself too well at this point and know that whenever i take a break thats too long, i struggle to get into any kind of routine for eternity. and i end up spending weeks without really getting any studies done or anything like that. Then momentum builds, the exam gets close, i take it, do decent, take a break and the cycle repeats. I just wanna break that cycle and trade 2-3 weeks of just chilling with consistent grinding so that I don't have to put in 9 hours of studying before an exam and throw away my hobbies and social life for 2 weeks straight. Is anyone in the same situation? Does anyone know how i can keep things going after a break? WITHOUT any exam pressure etc. Cause i feel like the pressure is always what leads me to go all out Batman-mode and perform well too. But I just dislike the idea of doing nothing for weeks, and then cramming everything into 2 weeks non-stop hustling. it's such an unhealthy cycle bruh. And it takes a toll on me for sure

Search up pomodoro and perception vs perspective. Look at how AI would look at you. A human, you have physical limits, emotional limits, mental limits. You push those limits, use the natural functionality of your reward system, and continue. Put that reward system out of balance and see what happens. (wolf of wall street quote "split the differential and tip the f*** over") Do too much work with no reward, you split. Do too much reward with no work, you split. Your ideal looks like this. Your challenge is challenging enough but not too hard. It is regular but not with no reward. You maintain this balance everywhere and the balance is maintained everywhere else. This is how the world works everywhere. Its the classic yin and yang. So to use your situation as an example, you took the break (too much reward), study hard for the exam last minute (too much work), pendulum then falls and hence your back to doing nothing for weeks as a result (too much reward). What you want instead is this. Study/work 1 hour. Reward. Study/work 1 hour. Reward. and repeat. You apply this to everything, literally everything and your life will be extraordinary just from this simple rule. EDIT: It sounds too good to be true but its very hard to maintain consistency when your own mind is often wired from trauma against certain behaviours.

You are certainly light years ahead of the majority of shitty KZbin channels praised by subscriber numbers-'the false relevancy.' Keep holding on to the small objectives; you'll reach your purpose. God bless you.

This “type of mental enhancement” is indeed accessible to those who are on the “Right Frequency” with “eyes to see and ears to hear” such occurrence.👁️💡👑

Yes it is. But you don't said how much work on yourself is required. It's even not "to achieve" it. It's "let go" mentality.

@@ConfidenceGold You're correct about me not having said anything about "how much work on yourself is required". That's purely because this "journey/process" is exclusively about "Knowing Thy Self", hence exactly why I said what I did above... especially the "eyes to see and ears to hear" part... which you obviously missed (with all sincere respect). If you believe you need to "work on yourself" then you don't truly KNOW YOUR SELF, and that your "work to do"--awake o' sleeper. 👁💡👑
