His House of Gucci performance is just incredible. He got paid big money to do what they could have got some old Butlins comedian to do for next to nothing... Same could be said for Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford or two dozen golden age Hollywood stars. Why would you pay Tom Cruise $20m dollars _not_ to be Tom Cruise. There's good actors and there's good film stars. Sometimes, rarely, both. That said; good art endures. Will anybody be watching Morbius in twenty years time? No. Will anybody be watching Chernobyl in twenty years time? At least one person, touch wood.

@@synchc While I mostly agree with you, I do have one little counter-point to throw in: When you pay Tom Cruise to not be Tom Cruise, you get Les Grossman from Tropic Thunder, and that is flat out the most entertaining thing he has ever done, in my book, so sometimes it works out. But usually, yes, you pay that sort of actor to do their thing because they are damn good at it. Problem with Leto, I guess, is that he just doesn't seem to have the warm charisma that someone like Cruise or Smith has, and that goes a long way towards likeability.

I think the 'charisma vaccum' comment hit the nail on the head, there is nothing there to like and so that's why he usually comes across as shit. I think it's also why his better roles are the ones like in Blade Runner when he's meant to be a bit of a weird, distant freak because that is who he is. Part of me thinks he might be a complete psychopath who doesn't feel a thing which is why he always seems like he's faking all of his very little emotion.

The thing is, big name directors keep putting him in their films. You have to think, after they've watched his performances in other films, and directed him in their own that they would know why people dislike him. They keep casting him, and keeping his role in the film, so can we really even blame him at this point.

There’s a guy that always pops up on my feed who gives free hair cuts and has cheesy conversations about life with people.. he gave Jared Leto a haircut.. Limmy should check it out, he’d love it. Well, he’d over analyse it by frame by frame for an hour and then change the subject abruptly.

I began wondering if he was Elizabeth Olsen (The Olsen Sister’s) and Zac Efron’s Dad. Coz he’s older than he looks, maybe not that old. But we’re all salmon swimming up the same old streams. 🐟♾ you’ve got a bit of James Mcavoy and Jim Kerr, not much but a wee smidge from time to time. If you know the Norwegian Rockstar Toschie Roed from Audrey Horne, a bit of him to.

We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
