@@flagella1337 he is my favourite pro player but for some reason in Argentina were I live, he gets a lot of criticism, they prefer chinese style here, and not see his brilliancy of becoming world number 1 at some point and consistently top 5 during decades being from outside China.

Once Timo said that because of his age it was taught to play far from the table The only way to stay in line was to get closer to the table and try to play the ball on the table

Timo Boll plays a bit more counter now, letting the opponent do the speed. His feeling, eye, experience makes him a superb player above the table and close to it. That he still can play this speed with 42 is insane!

I have been watching Timo and his tennis career since 2002 and it’s amazing that Timo is still participating in WTT events after several injuries! The only two legends on WTT arena are left - Ma Long and Timo Boll It’s funny to see when Timo beats a Korean player who’s trainer is Joo Se Hyuk who was playing with Timo long time ago Just amazing !

Timo ball is so intelligent. This game really highlights his table tennis IQ. Dude goes wide and then send the next ball into the pocket. Also, all the slow loops go into the middle leaving no angle for a strong counter attack. Wow, that’s brilliant.

A lot of intelligent players get old but loose the edge. Timo is more than experienced. He is exceptional open minded ,much more than most young players, and again changed his playstyle in perfection to accommodate his age. No other world class player ever was able to do that . Also his training dedication is unparalleled so when he is fit ,despite his age, he is not far behind the best in athleticism. He really is unique

This is a massive achievement for Timo in my eyes, these last few matches of him really tell the story of how smart plays and experience can win matches even against top hitters like Lin Yun-Ju! You gotta remember this is the guy that beat W. Chuqin AND Ma Long a few weeks ago, and here he is getting outplayed in quite a few spots by Timo Boll (at freaking 42 years old). Absolute class! Love both players though, they both deserve all the respect. What a great Semi Final, so fun to watch these two!

Tactical play! Notice how Timo focuses his topspins and sidespin serves (both clockwise and anti clockwise spins) on Lin Yun Ju’s forehand side. He anticipates in earnest Lin’s attack placement. His receive of Lin’s serves were also heavily concentrated on Lin’s forehand. It was game over due to Lin’s inferior second and third ball forehand attack. He’s also punished most times when he moves over to the forehand side to perform his flick.

crazy performance by timo. one thing though: aren't there any more tournaments in europe? since the WTT thing 90% of the tourneys seem to be in qatar and these great games cannot be watched by average people anymore. There are only about 5 rich sheikhs in the crowd that rather spend their time on the phone than watching these top notch matches.

But if you look at the Contender and Star Contender events of 2023, you will see that 3 out of 15 events took place in Europe (Slovenia, Croatia and Turkey). Especially for people hwo life in the west of Europe there are very few big tournaments.

Timo is using backhand opening, backhand flip amazingly. Strong improvement. Making his game so much more aggressive. Great to watch. Also his physical shape seems to endure day by day trading yoga in Germany seems to give him great balance, flexibility, and getting rid of tension and gain tension fastly.
