Our floor plan is similar to yours, open, the cabinets are also dark wood. Only differences; our counter is longer with a dual sink. We love our home in Fernandina beach, Amelia Island, Florida. My husband John and I retired back in 2018. We came down to Florida as snowbirds and visited different places. Our hearts fell upon Fernandina beach. We bought our home the Fall of 2018, sold our NY home and moved before Covid19 hit everywhere. We love our community and never looked back. I was 62 and my husband was 65. Formerly, I was employed as an RN working in New York City for 42 years. my husband worked 36 years as a supervisor for the New York State Thruway authority. Prior to that he did service in the Military (Navy). We both took our NYS pensions, said goodbye New York and never looked back. We do go back for holidays and once a year to visit family members and friends. Our development is 4 miles from the beach. We love our home and the golf course is a down the road. My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter live in Atlanta, which is a 5 hour ride for us and that’s the best part! We get to see them a lot and they love coming to Florida to go to the beach and hang out with us. Yes, We’re living the retirement dream here! Beautiful kitchen! Love your videos!❤❤

Ms Linda..your kitchen and home are lovely...thank you both for sharing..you make retirement so much fun..I am 60 and my husband is 69..we have been retired for 11 years here on the Virginia Tennessee line ❤️..but the cold weather has begun to effect my brain injury and my joints..I babysit our youngest granddaughter she is 2 1/2..her dad is a single parent..so moving is not in the near future..but we are looking at warmer weather when we can..bless you all for sharing your journey

With the lack of a kitchen window/s I thought it would be too dark but you have solved that problem. Sometimes my fella and I cook together. It seems open enough for two ❤. Linda you are a real doll. Thanks for showing your lovely kitchen.

Here is a project for Jerry in the kitchen: SOUP BURGERS Take 1 pound of hamburger meat and brown it in a skillet till crispy brown, pour off excess grease, take a can of french onion soup broth and pour directly in the skillet over the meat , let the soup come to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes or until meat absorbs the soup. Butter and toast burger buns then spread mustard on the buns and serve as open face sandwiches. You can add extra mustard on top if you like and serve with your favorite chips and beverage.

Linda love the tour of your beautiful & well lit kitchen . I'm jealous of all the cabinet & countertop space & drawer space you have in your kitchen . The building I live in was remodeled & it took over a year from start to finish . We all lost a lot of cabinet space , countertop space & drawer space in our kitchens & we all lost our linen closet space as well . The old kitchen sinks & faucets were put back in the new countertops & I still have the old stove as well . It's at least 15 yrs old or more & no convection & not self cleaning either .

I love you both❤️❤️. Y’all are too cute! Love your kitchen too. I have lots of plug ins too and they are so needful. I can tell you cook a lot from all the cabinets, spices and pantry. I have a Jerry too...for 50 years now. I also have a whirly jig (lazy Susan)😂. I’m ready for The Villages but I’m not sure The Villages is ready for me and my Jerry😂😂😂. My Jerry has a little hot rod truck that might not be welcomed by those who like peace and quiet😂. Love your channel.

Great use of your space in the Kitchen! It is the heart and soul of the home...and you're in there, so that's why it's Jerry's fav! I love to cook and have had lots of spices as well. Even though I'm 5'8", I have a step stool to access the higher shelves as well!

In my dishwasher my silverware holder was on the door too. Hated it. The rack comes off and fits on side of bottom rack. Just in case you didn't know that.
