I bought a pre-owned house and when the realtor walked me through I was looking at the landscaping I thought there was supposed to be a problem with people that don’t take care of the yard. I moved in on June 17th and couldn’t wait to get a handle on all the over growing plants cutting the lawn and the weeds. I worked 4 straight days on the outside. 1 week later I got a letter in my mail box with my address on it didn’t look at the name it was the realtors name that sold me the house. It was from The Villages and it said we thank you for bring the outside of the up to standards so we won’t charge the fee. So thanks to me the realtor didn’t get charged.

The lightening scares the begeebers out of me. I will seriously consider the surge mitigators if they cover our electronics. We continued with the lawn company that the people we purchased the home from had. We'll let you know how that works out. Of course the golf carts during those visits did not have seat belts and I've got to say I felt uncomfortable, since I'm so used to it in the car. Please forgive me for being a buttinsky, but I took B-12 on my own without a doctor's okay and my blood got way too thick. I just wanted to put that out there, so you would have it okayed through your doctor first, I didn't want to see you do what I did. I'd rather say something than for something bad happen to you later. I usually try to mind my own business, unless it is something I've learned from experience can be harmful.

@@micheleharper4276 Thank you for sharing that information. Besides your blood being way too thick, did it cause some unusual symptoms? There was a golf cart accident last week very near where I live. The golf cart path was slick from rain and the 14 year old driver took a curve too fast. The golf cart overturned and her legs were trapped under it. She lost a tooth and also had a concussion from her head hitting the blacktop. The only other passenger was a 14 year old boy who was in a panic because the girl couldn’t remember the passcode to unlock her phone and he didn’t want to leave her alone to go get help. Luckily two ladies found them a few minutes later and called for help. Hopefully she will wear a seatbelt in the future!

For years(decades?) We had either cable tv or satellite TV. I had heard of cutting the cord and streaming but didn't understand it. Well just in the last month I read AARP's book on tv for seniors and I understand it now. We discontinued our pay tv ($115 a month) and bought a roku sound bar for my tv and a new roku tv for husband. A $230 expense. Now we are streaming so much tv content for free I am bewildered by all the choices. The book has a whole chapter explaining free streaming channels. There are many many many free streaming services. Excluding the $230 initial outlay, we are saving $1380 a year by cutting the cord. We do have and continue to pay the $60 a month fiber optic internet connection, necessary for streaming tv. Which we were paying all along anyway besides the pay tv. 3 years ago I looked at a roku tv at Wal-Mart and said"this is too complicated, I don't understand it". I read that book and I understood it perfectly. Went to Wal-Mart and bought a $124.00 roku tv and a roku sound bar from HSN, installed it all myself and am not paying $115 a month for tv anymore.. I love it.

A month or so ago my neighbor, 2 Doors down, who DOESN'T HAVE a surge protector called me to ask if my electricity worked in all rooms after lightning struck nearby. His electric went out in 1 room & TV didn't come on. I wasn't home so wasn't sure if electric was still on. We've had at least 8-10 yard people in our 13 years. From small 3-person deals to the biggest landscapers. We asked the last one why all our plants in the back yard died. They sent a supervisor to check; his verdict was that the water lines were installed incorrectly and the plants weren't getting water. Then we told him his company did the water lines. He said he would talk to the company and get back to us. They didn't. We're done with them. Now we're down to mostly rocks. At one time we had a terrific looking front yard... but it's just not worth it.

Another note on the surge mitigator, I believe if it takes a hit it gets blown out and needs to be replaced. I think Seco will do that free of charge. If you purchase it outright you would probably have to replace it yourself for an additional $400. I could be wrong about that.

Now that would be good to know~ surely worth looking into before deciding whether to lease the protection or buy outright. Good question to pose Rick, thank you!

I hear you Linda. I too had to go to the bathroom and after trying forever to find it, could not find my way back to my friends. I ended sitting near the front door so hopefully if they were looking for me, they could find me. hahaha

Living in Orange Park, FL a child was killed at my daughter's elementary school. I had PTSD reactions for years due to witnessing many ground strikes while living in Florida. Visiting MI I would have to leave family outdoor events when I'd hear thunder getting closer. Back home in MI, that's a memory never forgotten.

That would be traumatic.

So glad to hear there is an IKEA nearby. When I get there, I have BIG plans for a number of projects based on IKEA products.

Well, my goodness~ of course you're going to highlight the activities & dining experiences you DO enjoy! A reasonable mind would understand that it's not your every single day way of living, good grief. That's a big part of what your channel is about, & you both are so delightful & easy to listen to that I just cannot imagine there are any sourpusses who would dare be so grumpy about what you choose to share =) *Yes, I do realize you're "teasing" them right back~ good on you for being such good sports...errgghh =)

☮️♥️☀️🌹 Care About You! Jerry and Linda, Beautiful day! Just wanted you to know the popular lawn dilemma, we had the same situation so we bought an electric lawn mower and an electric weed eater. We don't try to do it the same day, we do the front today, tomorrow the sides, the third day the other side and the fourth day the back. Of course our yard could be bigger, so it might only take you three days. We only do it 7 in the evening as my daughter and I sleep late, since we don't have to get up early to give Peter breakfast as he's a trucker. We do all our chores at night when it's a lot lot cooler. Even my neighbor decided to buy a small riding lawnmower as he's almost time to retire and figured out he can save a hundred dollars a month by doing it himself, that's saving $1,200 a year. That's a nice vacation somewhere! You have to have the willpower to do the lawn yourself or you'll be depending on someone to get it done halfway and telling you they're charging more because of the price of gas going up. Your wife would enjoy riding a small lawnmower, it's just like driving a golf cart. You can even get jobs with two or three of your neighbors to do their lawn and that will pay for your brand new lawnmower. Not that you need to do that, it's just a great idea that will pay for the lawnmower. We started cutting ours again two days ago and hoping to do the back at 7 this evening. It literally only takes a half an hour to do one side or the other, then we take a second shower for the day and that only takes five minutes. Then we're back on the couch watching you on KZbin! Cheers to the bad boy lawnmower! 🏖️ Pamela and Lisa
