Truly, creating this table top topiary couldn’t have been easier. I used a 1 gallon euonymus that had a form very amenable to topiary. It just required a bit of pruning to transform it into a beautiful topiary/bonsai specimen. I adore the way it turned out! Tell me what you think.

Because of your videos, I bought 2 large pots for my back garden and added 2 boxwoods to eventually make topiaries. So much of my garden is perennial and most visible in summer so I wanted to add a little life for the winter months. I plan to add a couple of more further to the bottom of the hill. Thanks for great ideas from your beautiful garden!

“Semi-torturing this root ball” 😂😂😂 You definitely made me feel better about also doing this to some of my plants in the past. And actually they all were just fine in the end! Plants (a lot of them) are so resilient, and root bound isn’t good anyway.

That turned so beautiful!!! I go to Lowes a lot more now too because of you Linda. I was so excited to find a green mountain boxwood here in Orange County California. I also spotted a misshapen cypress in the clearance section and aimed for a double ball topiary. You have inspired me so much. I never get tired of watching your videos. I watch them over and over and over. Thank you!!!

I have just recently discovered your topiary videos! I'm obsessed! I love them, and now I have a new gardening goal. Also looking for affordable plants like you have suggested. Its the perfect time of year!

Linda!!!! How have I failed to see this video before today?? You are speaking my language right now. Juniper is also a great plant for this technique. The counter intuitive thing is that root treatment,it feels like you are killing the plant, but no,simply giving it room to spread out. And remove any downward pointing leaves or branches,as a tree-form always looks up. Very impressive job,Linda! This made my day!!😊😊

Love this! I did this to a gardenia that got bushy at the bottom...I trimmed much of the lower leaves and thinned it out and the form turned out lovely! Sadly it looks like said gardenia did not make it through the Winter Storm that hit us in Texas. I haven’t trimmed too much in hopes it would come back from the bottom so I could start again.

Awesome...Your changing my outlook on gardening. I’m self taught and get excited every year for a new season. Can I take an azalea shrub and make a topiary? What do you think in a pot.
